Little slice of paradise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Even though this is really a couples paradise we were accommodated and the staff was phenomenal. Never have met such truly nice people. They go well beyond to give everything you need, every where you go on the property. 7 days was not long enough to do everything they offer. Scuba, salt water river drift, spa, meals-every thing was excellent. This property is set up for you to do as much or as little as you like! Will see you again, but for a longer stay! Thanks, Ken

I can’t think of a better vacation than Namale

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Namale is simply amazing. The staff make it such a warm, welcoming environment, not to mention the incredible, tranquil setting. We loved the food, every meal was an absolute treat. There are so many beautiful little nooks within the resort where you can enjoy the views, and with how few guests there are, it feels like you have the resort to yourself. Between meals, exploring the beach/reef, snorkeling, massages/spa time and many other activities each day, we barely found time to relax by the pool! We will absolutely be back to Namale, hopefully sooner rather than later, Vinaka!

Perfect in every way

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We have recently returned from 5 days in beautiful Namale Resort. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Every single activity, meal, and staff member was superb. Everyone there immediately made us feel welcome and ensured that our stay would be perfect starting with remembering our names and using them! Just lovely, delightful people. We couldn’t have felt more spoiled. The rooms were so nice and absolutely spotless and cleaned thoroughly daily and towels changed even at night when they did turn down service. Whatever we wanted or needed was provided immediately and with a smile. The nightly entertainment was also a highlight, especially the darling children and adults from the local village. Just delightful. Our sandbar picnic and snorkel was lots of fun, in spite of the windy day. As was our sunset cocktail and snacks and our special good bye breakfast at lover’s point. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience. Special shout out to Jio, Donna, Bui, Kesa, Oni, Lia, Mili and Mili, Brenda, Joe, and Nanise. Apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone. Wish we could come back tomorrow! Sally and Jim

The Most Genuine Adventure We've Ever Had

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

What can we say except vinaka for one of the most amazing experiences of our lives! We visited Namale for our 4 year anniversary and it was one of the best trips we've ever taken (which is saying a lot as we've visited over 30 countries and stayed in many different hostels, hotels, and resorts). What really struck us about Namale, and Fiji in general, is how happy and relaxed everyone is. Every single person was so kind and exceptionally polite. But it all felt so genuine and not anything like the thin veneer of fake kindness many in the hospitality industry are forced to adopt to deal with their often less than kind guests. By our second day at Namale all the front of house staff knew our names and were learning about our food and activity preferences. By the end of our week-long stay we were swapping small gifts with staff and getting their social media accounts so we could keep in touch. We have never felt so welcome at a vacation destination in our lives! We went into our vacation wanting to try as many features of the resort as possible and we were not disappointed. We tried every complimentary excursion offered by Namale to include a gorgeous waterfall picnic and hike, a farm tour (absolutely recommend this as you get to see where and how a good part of the resort’s produce is grown and you get to taste a lot of it!), reef walks, a private dinner in a sea cave, and a visit to feed the resort’s horses. We also went scuba diving and snorkeling with the resort’s awesome dive staff. Many of the events focused on a specific aspect of Fijian life and culture, such as the nightly performances by local villagers and hotel staff, cava ceremonies, and an entire class about the myriad uses of coconuts. The staff were eager to not only teach us about Fijian culture and tradition, but they openly welcomed us to participate in these activities! Every staff member who interacted with us was exceptionally kind and knowledgeable and we appreciated every second we spent learning more about Fiji and its people. Every excursion and event was well-crafted and often included curated picnics or snacks too! Speaking of food, the resort boasted a very talented culinary team. We were never disappointed by a meal and always found ourselves looking forward to our next one! The menus featured many staples of elevated takes on traditional western (mainly British and American) cuisine as well as plenty of dishes inspired by the many different peoples who inhabit Fiji. Indian curries and roti shared the menu along side traditional Fijian seafood and vegetable dishes that rotated daily, representing the diverse culinary scene of Fiji. Every building was well-stocked with soft-drinks, beer, water, and snacks, and hand-delivered treats were always just a quick phone call away. The bars were well stocked and the bartenders knowledgeable and creative. The best part was that staff quickly picked up on our preferences and were quick to recommend dishes or to bring us snacks and treats they thought we’d enjoy. If your interests lie more in the spa, you will not be disappointed. The facility was elegant and very well appointed. We got 3 separate massages, including a traditional Fijian Bobo foot massage, along with many spa extras. The spa staff were excellent and so attentive. We got a moonlight bliss massage package and had the entire spa to ourselves one night. We enjoyed a moonlight picnic in the aqua therapy room, relaxing in the aromatic soaking pools among candles and flower petals. It was one of the highlights of our trip! While the spa was amazing, our room was just as amazing! We were generously upgraded from an ocean bure to a honeymoon bure and it was fantastic! The room was a miniature suite with plenty of room and all the comforts you could ask for. We even had a bridge leading to our own private deck and plunge pool that looked out over the bay. The housekeeping staff left us cute messages written in flower petals on our bed every day and always stocked our favorite snacks and drinks in our bar and fridge. Truly, everything was amazing and we had such a wonderful time. We felt individually catered to at every turn and are so grateful to have been given the chance to experience just a small part of Fiji thanks to everyone at Namale. Here are a few tips we learned: -Please don’t tip, but do consider contributing to the Namale staff medical, education, or employee appreciation funds at the end of your visit! -Make sure you book your tickets to the right airport! Namale is near the Savusavu airport (SVU). There is an airport in Suva (SUV) on the main island with a similar airport code! Make sure you are flying into the right airport! -You will likely fly from the mainland to Savusavu in Fiji Airways’ Vikings DHC-6 Series 400 Twin Otter aircraft. It’s a very small plane but our flights were very smooth. Just mentally prepare yourself if you have an aversion to flying. -There are hermit crabs and land crabs of all shapes and sizes by the beach, watch your step so you don't accidentally tread on one of these abdorable creatures. -Try to relax and have fun! The pace of life in Fiji may not be what you are accustomed to. People playfully refer to it as “Island time.” Things may take a bit longer than expected, so be patient and enjoy the scenery while you wait. Thank you again to everyone at Namale who made our trip so memorable!

Apart from the beautiful grounds at Namale, it really is the staff, their hospitality and natural kindness that made this a very special vacation.
