Underwhelming Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We chose the Zoetry Spa & Resort due to the online pics and location away from the cruiselines; however, our experience was subpar for a Hyatt property. Had higher expectations for an all-inclusive with 3 adjoining properties but sadly had limited food & bev options with subpar quality & offerings. Services were also all over the place with great to poor. El Mare's pool was amazing as well as the location, Bloom was the best restaurant and avoid Dreams area as much as possible. Beach area was great but hotel allowing guests to hoard chairs & umbrellas starting 6am but only to be used after BF or around 10am was nerve-wrecking since you can't find any options until well past 3pm to get an opportunity to lay down. Overall, it was an average valued vacay.

Great Staff, But the Experience Fell Short

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Our trip had a few positive aspects, but overall it did not meet expectations, especially given what was advertised for UVC members. On a positive note, the staff was one of the highlights of our stay. The bartenders, in particular, were friendly and accommodating. When certain drink ingredients were unavailable, they made an effort to create similar options or suggest something new, which we appreciated. The staff’s willingness to help was noticeable and genuinely kind. Unfortunately, many areas of the experience were disappointing. Upon arrival, there was no VIP-style greeting or welcome as advertised. Communication regarding check‑out expectations was unclear; while the website suggested flexible checkout, we were required to leave by a specific time with little notice. Room cleanliness was a major concern. There was visible mold in the shower and on the shower curtain, dirty floors, and countertops that had not been wiped down. We entered the room immediately after it had supposedly been cleaned, yet only a small portion of the floor had been mopped. It was clear that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned either before or during our arrival. Housekeeping was inconsistent, and having to repeatedly ask for towels and basic items to be restocked was frustrating. Additionally, the TV and phone only worked intermittently, functioning about 25% of the time. Several advertised amenities were not provided. We did not receive the daily sparkling wine and fresh fruit, the welcome beach bag, or the advertised 20‑minute spa treatment. We purchased a deep tissue massage, which was not a true deep tissue experience. It felt more like oil being lightly rubbed on the body, with no noticeable tension relief, and it did not feel worth the cost. Food quality was another major disappointment. Overall, the food did not taste good. Late‑night room service was particularly poor. delivery took over three hours. Additionally, menu options were very limited and only available at certain times of day. Many restaurants were either closed or offered minimal selections, requiring us to go to the Dreams location more often than we wanted. Activity planning was also challenging. The resort app listed times and locations for activities, but on several occasions when we arrived, no one was present. Some activity times in the app did not match what was actually happening on-site, making it difficult to participate. Since most activities were hosted at the Dreams resort, this made planning our days even more difficult. Overall, while the staff was welcoming and tried their best in many situations, the lack of cleanliness, poor food quality, missing amenities, and mismatch between advertising and reality made this stay disappointing.

It was great experience. Helpful staff

Overall the experience was great! Attentive and accommodating. We had really great experiences with the bar tender there and the support from Luiggy was really great. Luiggy was super helpful and all around really nice. He was able to help get towels for us and a few extra drinks for the mini bar, he also suggested a few places to visit - definitely promotion material!

Perfect for couples

Beautifully curated room. Impeccable service. Don’t worry about it not being technically beach front…it was just a cart ride away.

So much room for improvement.

Beautiful, but... Many staff members seemed new. Bartenders could not make drinks. My husband was served a drink with gin in it, after explicitly telling our server he was allergic to gin. Despite being under the impression this was a kid-free resorts, there were kids in the pool and at the restaurants daily. Deserts seem like they came from a box. We could not use our beautiful patio due to the sewage smell outside. The resort-wide music was SO loud outside of our patio doors and started one morning at 6am. We were made to feel as though we were checking in ridiculously early 10:30am despite NO check-in/check-out times. We never received spa voutures.
