Reviews for Zoetry Curacao Resort & Spa

Feel it falls short for a Zoetry

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

A beautiful small resort. Service. is lacking. Very slow with a limited menu. We spent a lot of time across the street a LiMar and Dreams, which is a walk through a not so pretty parking area. You can also take a golf cart ride and the attendants for them are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend renting a car - touring the beautiful beaches and stopping for meals off site. Highly recommend Isabella's on the island. Excellent food and service.

Beautiful resort, doesn’t meet the usual Zoetry standards.

Areas where this resort could have done better: - Our fridge was not restocked daily. Other Zoetry properties include a mini bar and snacks which were missing here. - A simple grab and go coffee bar in the morning would be a huge asset. There is a Nespresso machine in the room or you can get coffee at the sit down breakfast restaurant, or room service but sometimes, you just want to get a cup and take a walk. - The bartenders generally were friendly and provided good service. However, much of the female wait staff appeared untrained in how to provide good service or engage with guests.

Outstanding Visit

Just returned from a week at Zoetry. We had a fantastic vacation. WRT all the recent negative reviews - I’ve learned there are a lot of people that sit around and look for fault wherever they are…. I met several at this resort that wanted to commiserate - I refused. This is a great property! Reception Check-in/out - was fast and professional Grounds - beautiful and immaculate Room - large clean, well appointed Housekeeping - Excellent Restaurants - good. Additional great options at the adjoining properties. Bars - outstanding. Very professional- great hand crafted drinks. Latoya at the pool bar was outstanding Overall great experience. We will return!!!

Zoetry is beautiful to behold; but below the surface, not so good

Zoetry Resort and Spa is set in a beautiful lush green setting with a lovely pool and grounds. Rooms are very nice, though a bit dated. The lighting in the room is too dim...one ceiling halogen by the entrance was out. Zoetry shares privileges with Dreams and Il Mare adults only properties on the beach. The beach at il Mare (as well as the beach at Dreams are VERY nice. The snorkeling off the dive shop just outside Il Mare around the breakwater is fabulous. Most of the people engaged in service at the outdoor facilities meaning the pools, the bars and the restaurants were friendly and attentive. The food at Il Mare is very good, their Italian restaurant is the best of all the shared restaurants. Short answer don’t stay at Zoetry stay at Il Mare or elsewhere…read the below for why.   Zoetry for breakfast, lunch and diner was disappointing…it is the all inclusive you wish you didn’t have, so that you would eat somewhere else.  The bars and drinks were very good. The room was fine, but despite the request for a quiet room by email and called the front desk 1 week ahead of my stay, the only room they said they had available to us was the room across a walkway from the bar, which was very loud and noisy to after 11. The room was one of the few with a balcony overlooking the service roadway. Most rooms had beautiful balconies overlooking the pool or lush green forests. I have Globalist status which should’ve resulted in an upgrade for me as the top tier for Hyatt but that didn't seem to mean anything to the reception.  The servicing of the room left much to be desired, including not servicing the room and running out of towels, no water refilled in the mini bar, no soap in the shower, etc.  My food critique starts with the room service menu that is substandard for a high end resort, a boring menu you would expect in a US mid range Hilton ,i.e., hamburger, spaghetti bolognese, and rump steak. They ran out of ice cream and the hot soup of the day came cold. For breakfast at Zoetry, the menu is adequate however, as fellow travelers around me commented and my own experience supports the omelettes were cooked on a dirty grill, dried out, and flattened. The bagels, salmon and cream cheese had no cream cheese available (other guests confirmed no cream cheese for days). On one morning, per staff, they ran out of melons, papaya, and pineapple. Just grapes, plums and grapefruit slivers in the buffet. The highly popular poolside dinner barbecue at Zoetry was overrun with people, and since they don’t take reservations (at any of the restaurants at both resorts) we and everyone at 7 pm waited for more than 45 minutes to be seated; first seating still there. Once seated it took another 45 minutes to get our meal (everyone complained) the service staff were so apologetic! The last straw for my negative review. I made the mistake of ordering the “half BBQ chicken“ on the menu and what I received was a dried out, ‘crispy’, tough thigh. When I asked what happened to my half chicken the wait staff said the chef told her that we don’t have enough chicken. I also asked for a piece not dried out and they said everything was already (over)cooked. We ate mid dinner time- not late. The wait staff were all embarrassed and kept saying to me come back another day. I will get you a half of chicken. For this amount per night, there are other options I would consider first!
