La Perla del Caribe

It was a beautiful villa, but they overcharged my friend $500 USD/ $1,000 BZ for a stained towel, and did not mention this during the walkthrough. They insisted on showing the villa to a potential buyer even though we were uncomfortable with this and the place had been booked for months. Our golf cart broke down multiple times to the point we had to get out and push. I have my doubts about the honesty of this villa. Other than that it was a wonderful trip with my friends and Belize is beautiful.

I have such mixed feelings about this place. When we walked in we were amazed, the house is beautiful and San Pedro is obviously a very special place. On day two the office people came in and asked us to leave the villa that day so that they could show it to a potential buyer... super odd considering that we had booked the place 7 months earlier. They were quite pushy and said things like "you don't trust me?". After a second (again very pushy) conversation we eventually agreed to leave so they could show the home because there was "no other possible time to reschedule the showing". When we scheduled our golf cart (through the villa) we asked for 4 days of rental but were charged for 7, which led to hours taken out of our vacation to fix. Lastly when we left we were hit with a $500 charge for damage to towels and the refrigerator. Not sure what the deal was with the fridge? It was a normal, everyday fridge and we treated it as such... somehow they are trying to say that we caused a crack in a plastic bin that will cost over $400 to replace. Additionally they only have white towels (which are required to stay in the villa), and when we left they took pictures of the towels holding them up to the sun pointing out any irregularities in color. None of these "stains" were egregious, and could only been seen if held up to the sun.... idk bleach the towels maybe? Isn't that part of having white towels in a rental? Overall we wish we could say that this was a magical experience, but it was only that way because of the wonderful women that joined us on this trip. Unfortunately La Perla left a bad scammy taste in our mouth.

It is a must to stay at the beautiful seafront villa at La Perla in Ambergris Caye if you are going to Belize. Perfect if you have guests who cannot decide if they prefer the sand/dock by the sea or the beautiful pool, you don't have to choose! Conveniently located by golf cart ride to San Pedro for great restaurants and bars. We also went to Caye Caulker, Belize City, and inlands for some adventures but we could have also just relaxed at this beautiful home. Star was an amazing concierge who connected us with everything that we need, including professional excursion guides that kept our trip fun and safe. Star was also responsive to any of our concerns at the villa. Beautiful vacation thanks for the staff at La Perla.

We just returned from a week at La Perla with seven 18 - 21 year olds and three moms. We had a WONDERFUL time and loved every minute of our stay at Villa Amethyst. Our hostess, Star, was THE BEST … Very responsive whenever I reached out and always provided great recommendations. The entire staff was fabulous!!! In fact, the very first night I lost my diamond cocktail ring. We searched and searched .. Security saw us at the pool about 9 PM and helped us look too. I finally text Star to see if just maybe it had been turned in, and she had it!! The bartender found it when closing up earlier in the day!!! Roberto provided transportation to and from the ferry terminal, and he also took me and three of the girls snorkeling last minute. Picked us up at the dock right in front of our villa and his co-captain (Mr. Chocolate 😂) came in the water with us and never left our sides, primarily because my 18 yo was wrapped around him terrified .. LOL!!! Seriously tho, because of him she stayed in the water and got to have an amazing experience seeing stingrays and nurse sharks!! It was an affordable simple trip, just ten minutes straight out (the reef is very close to the shore line). Renting our golf carts from Omar at Beez Belize Rentals was great … Very convenient and he was super flexible about delivery / pickup when our plans changed a bit. Seaduced by Belize provided an amazing day relaxing at sea on their houseboat (breakfast, lunch, rum punch, drinks included). Portofino Restaurant delivers and their food was AMAZING .. We did both breakfast and dinner while there. All were recommendations by Star!!!

We have stayed at La Perla Del Caribe a couple times and it does not disappoint. Villa Sapphire is a superb villa with everything you need and with great views. The staff was fantastic and meets all you needs. Special shout to "Star" for attention to details. For a special treat, get the home Chef to cook for a night.
