In a tranquil corner of northern Bali,The Damai exudes a soft-spoken grace that mirrors the beauty of the region. This divine sanctuary is oeLovina(TM)s most elegant, intimate, and relaxed,” raves Fodor(TM)s. Each of its eight bungalows is tastefully adorned with antiques and beautiful textiles that recreate ancient Indonesian patterns. Nature is essential to the property, from the bungalows(TM) private open-air baths and the spa pavilion overlooking a neighboring rice paddy to the al fresco restaurant serving organic produce grown right on the grounds.

In the midst of the wild vegetation of the hills and mountains toping Lovina a beautiful gem is waiting to be explored. This precious gem is the Damai hotel full of luxurious gardens, great balinese food and the most friendliest personnel encountered: from the drivers who would pick us up from our villa, to the gentle and prepared waiters, the skillfull massage therapists and to Nils, owner of the resort, who described us some of his experiences in Bali from his first trip and highlightened the local culture . A special thanks goes to Andres, the resort manager, for being so thoughtful and attentive to all our needs and who shared with us his amazing stories. An unforgettable retreat of relax and blissflullness that overexceded our already high expectations!

Had a wonderful experience at the Damai. It was our first visit to Lovina and the resort was great.Accomodation was first rate and the breakfast was amazing - probably one of the best we’ve had anywhere. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and made our stay very comfortable. The only reason we refrained from giving it a 5 rating was the exceptionally expensive dinner menu. We had one dinner at the resort and the quality was excellent - not surprising as the resort prides itself on offering a gourmet experience. Unfortunately, the price of the dinner meals and the quantity didn't deliver value. We found excellent local restaurants at a quarter of the price. While not gourmet, these local restaurants served up excellent food at a more realistic price point considering the Bali context. A larger offering on the menu offering more reasonable pricing would deliver a 5+ rating.

We spent four nights in the 2 Bedroom Family Pool Villa at The Damai – and it was absolutely amazing. The villa is spacious, elegant, and completely private, with a lovely garden and a private pool where we spent many peaceful hours surrounded by palm trees and mountains. It truly felt like our own little paradise. This was our 10th visit to The Damai since 2006, and the place continues to exceed our expectations every single time. There’s a special calm and atmosphere here that we haven’t found anywhere else on Bali. The service is outstanding – friendly, personal, and professional. Everything is done with a smile and a genuine desire to make your stay as perfect as possible. Breakfast was a daily highlight, and the restaurant serves some of the best food we’ve had on the island – a mix of local and international dishes, all beautifully prepared. The Damai is the perfect place if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and luxury – yet still want to be close to Lovina and the local experiences. We traveled as a family and felt at home from the moment we arrived. We truly hope to return – for the 11th time!

A Hidden Gem in Northern Bali – Truly 5 Stars! Our stay at The Damai was simply outstanding and deserves more than 5 stars. This boutique hotel is a peaceful oasis tucked away in the hills of Lovina — serene, luxurious, and full of charm. Our Balinese-style room was beautifully furnished and immaculately maintained. Every detail throughout the property reflects exceptional quality and care. The staff went above and beyond every single day. Special shoutouts to Vulan at the front desk, Davet who remembered our breakfast favorites each morning (the food is absolutely delicious and sourced from their own organic garden), and Windi and Mrs. Resmini, who gave us the best massages we've ever had. And our driver, Mr. Ketut Widana, made exploring the area an absolute pleasure. Though we stayed 4 nights, we wished we had stayed longer. The Damai offers a daily shuttle into town, but the real magic is in the peaceful surroundings. It’s a true hidden gem and one we can't wait to return to. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a unique and relaxing Bali experience.

The best villas ever) the villas are as clean as it’s builder only yesterday, room service is as fast as cheetah and the list of free hotel services you’ll be read till the midnight) staying in the Damai hotel you’ll never hear any noises except the sounds of nature (birds, frogs and water ambience sounds). And there are three continental type breakfast which include so many dishes and options that it looks like a smorgasbord type than the continental one. Free parking, free baggy (mini-car) for taking you to any villa within hotel territory, free car to take you to any place around the Damai hotel)
