This stunning estate is hidden away on Bali's exclusive southern peninsula, poised on a ridge at Jimbaran Bay, otherwise known as the island's "Golden Mile." Tranquility plays a starring role in this intimate setting, which features just 19 villas. Ranging from one to four bedrooms, each villa has been stylishly designed to flow with the landscape and features its own contemporary kitchen and swimming pool.

We stayed in the two bedroom Munia villa for 5 nights, after previously staying in a four bedroom villa 6 months ago. Pros: Staff are fantastic and always friendly. The restaurant was reasonably priced (by resort standards) and had a good selection of Asian and Western meals, with a varied a la carte breakfast. Restaurant staff remembered us from the last visit which was nice. The villas are very spacious and private and are set on a steep, lush hillside (yes, there are quite a few steps to some lower villas, we counted 102 to get to breakfast, but not a big problem unless you have health issues or are in a hurry). The doors of the villas open up to look out over the infinity edge pools to the forest which is lovely, and the villas are cleaned thoroughly every day. Despite the forest setting we had very few issues with mosquitoes due to the weekly fogging. The gym is well equipped and the massage was good. Cons: Both times we booked we checked directly with the resort to see which specific villas were available. On both occasions the resort offered their ‘best available price’ that was significantly higher than the price given on the website, so we booked through the website and just requested a particular villa. We didn’t have the floating breakfast offered in the deal but when we asked about the included airport transfer on checkout they said that they hadn’t noticed that in the deal, then offered to help us book a taxi (that we would pay for), so we booked a Gojek instead. The villas need a review to check that everything is working as advertised on the website. The oven wasn’t working, nor was the rangehood, one of the living area A/C units, the bar fridge on the pool level, and the TV instructions referred to devices and remotes that have since been removed. There was an iron provided but no ironing board. Both showers on the upper level needed fixing as the water was spraying everywhere. Most of these things didn’t bother us but we mentioned the showers and bar fridge to reception. To their credit, a staff member arrived within a couple of hours and fixed one of the showers (the outdoor one remained unusable) and after pulling apart the bar fridge said that the motor was burnt out (it didn’t get replaced though and looked like it hadn’t been used for a while). Instead we bought bags of ice from the local store to keep drinks cool in the sink near the pool to avoid drying off to go upstairs each time. Also, as with a lot of villas the lighting was overly complex. On the first night I needed to turn off 50 individual light switches before going to bed, but the lighting in the bedroom was so dark that we needed a torch to see in the cupboard. Generally speaking, though, I would recommend Gending Kedis due to the setting, design, and staff, and as long as you aren’t looking to stay in a vibrant neighbourhood close to shops/restaurants and don’t mind a few things not working in the villa you will have an enjoyable stay.

The villas are fairly secluded so not something I’d recommend if you are looking to venture out in the evenings to some life. The setting is beautiful and our villa had a secluded pool which the kids loved. It was fine for a couple of nights but any more than that would have caused more than an issue. The WiFi was weak so with 7 people trying to use it we were ok it being a short stay. The other issue was the plumbing in the main suite the hot water was orange. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great too. I’m sure if we had raised the concerns they would have tried to fix it but as we were there such a short time we managed,

Visited this Villa after staying at Kanishka Villas. Thoroughly enjoyed myself again as I did last year. Had a villa with a private pool right outside my bedroom. Perfect for a morning swim before breakfast. View was fantastic - a lush green valley full of birds chirping. As usual, service was great with friendly staffers and wonderful food at the restaurant. Can't wait to make another relaxing visit.

The property has amazing gardens, and lovely staff. The buildings and rooms are getting a bit tired however and I feel that for the price I paid there was better options available. We stayed in a one bedroom pool villa. It was enormous, however timber floors were lifting and taped down in parts, decking was rotten in parts, and curtains and furnishings faded. It was disappointing for the price.

We stayed at Gending Kedis Luxury Villas as a family and booked a three-bedroom villa. Upon arrival, it was clear that the property was once truly luxurious. The architecture and layout still reflect that past elegance. However, wear and tear, paired with a lack of consistent maintenance, have taken their toll. We expected it to be cleaner. The bathtub, while grand in design, wasn’t usable without risking scrapes. The sofa had leftover sand from previous guests, and the kitchen equipment—like the kettle and cookware—was noticeably unclean. Overall cleanliness was disappointing for a place labeled as “luxury.” Breakfast was included, which we appreciated. The cappuccino was great, and the staff seemed willing. However, we found plastic foil in the juice, and considering we were the only guests dining at that time, the attention to detail was lacking. For a property of this supposed caliber, consistency and care are essential. Breakfast felt average It's an okay experience if you're looking to get a sense of what the place once was—but as it stands now, it doesn’t meet modern luxury standards. With serious updates and better upkeep, it could be something special again. Overall: Almost a 4 (but not yey) out of 5. Not a disaster, but certainly not what you'd expect from a luxury villa expetience.

Arriving at Gending Kedis, a short 10 minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport, was literally stepping into a hidden sanctuary. Considerate touches found all over the villa - they are warm and inviting and all the common areas and walkways blend seamlessly into the landscaped grounds and natural terrain. The warmth and hospitality shown will ultimately be the reason why more and more visitors will become return visitors and friends of Gending Kedis.
