Business trip combined with holiday
We had the most wonderful 2 night stay at Azura Benguerra. It exceeded our expectations - this place is Paradise. We have just started our own family run travel company and would definitely recommend this destination to clients. The rooms are literally a few metres from the clear turquoise sea and you can walk straight from your room to the beach in a few seconds.. We loved the natural high quality products in the bathroom - 'Rain'and 'Africology' being some of our favourite products. The sandy white beach was stunning and waking up to that sight every morning was heaven, not to mention swimming in that turquoise sea and walks along the pristine beach. We also did an amazing snorkel at a nearby island taken by boat from the hotel and my husband and two sons had a great drive. I usually don't like having a private butler but I must say we loved being taken care of so well and the staff went to the ends of the earth to meet our requests. We loved the dinner outside our villa/room on the last night too. The food was of a high standard and we looked forward to our meals. Also the complimentary Dhow cruise was lovely. We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful resort and would love to go back one day.

Best Beach Experience for our family yet!
First of all … far exceeded all of our expectations. We went on a safari before this and thought we’d end our trip at the beach to chill. Just thought we were going to a traditional US type beach resort. NO, WAY better. This blew our minds with their customer service/accommodations. The trip was our family — me, husband, 2 daughters who are 24 and 25. Staff was exceptional — our butler Ju-Ju, was out of this world! Super accommodating, planned special dinner locations for us. Every night he had something up his sleeve. One night in their special wine cellar (with rose petals and swans made out of napkins, candles, etc.) and our last night he setup dinner on the beach for us in front of our villas (brought in lanterns, plants, linens, etc..) and picture this, to serve us dinner in front of our villa the restaurant is way down the beach so Ju-Ju and staff are bring the drinks/food down the beach too us. It was absolutely unreal. I wish I could do emoji’s here as I’d be hearting left and right.Plus the front desk and management staff, really great experience with everyone at the resort. I wished I remembered more names, all of them made an impact to our overall experience. Customer service was exceptional, you don’t get this type of service anywhere. We were blown away. Food - wow, this was unbelievably good too. I wish I remembered the chef’s name, he was a friend of Ju-Ju, Oscar? He nailed it. They have this function down the beach, I believe once a week, it was really fun and again the chef and staff to organize that and work it is pretty incredible. And every other meal — breakfast, lunch and dinner … was exceptional. Resort - it’s a great size. It was small enough that the staff knows all of us there at a given time. The staff, including our butler was there waiting for us as we arrived at the helicopter pad. And they walked us back out on our departure to say good-bye. Hugs included! [Heart emoji] Accommodations - can’t forget this. Every villa is beach front. I believe every villa either has a plunge pool or pool and all have cabanas. Rooms are super, you arrive with rose petals on your bed. Broken record, customer service was excellent! There are many other touches that I’d love to describe but this post will get too long. We all said, it’s too hard to even describe how great of a trip this was. You just have to experience it. Thank you Azura Benguerra Staff for a memorable trip!! Love ~McCarthy’s

Absolutely magical and relaxing!
We couldn’t have wished for a more wonderful time away! The lodge is beautiful, the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, they offer the perfect amount of activities. The food was great and our villa offered everything we could possibly have wished for. A truly magical experience! Thank you!

Relax and recharge!
After hiking Kilimanjaro, safari’s and lots of travel Azura was an oasis. Beautiful beautiful- highly recommend- 9/10 from accommodations to food. It was wonderful. The people were fantastic highly recommend.

Fantastic trip in every way
Fantastic trip. The people on Mozambique are lovely, which says a lot after what they have been through as a couple try. Fantastic staff, some of the best I have had in Africa where I have travelled 9 times. The beaches in the archipelago are probably the most pristine I have ever seen. Fantastic snorkeling and activities, though the ocean was very choppy the day we went whale watching. I would suggest for whale watching go on a day without wind. Highly highly recommended.
