The breezy, open-air cabins and villas of the five-star Buri Rasa Village Koh Samui nestle up to the quiet end of Chaweng Beach, a strip of flour-white sand on the east side of an island that's an hour plane ride from Bangkok. That means you'll find tranquility here, amplified by unique local spa treatments and special touches such as complimentary high tea served seaside.

We stayed at Buri Rasa Village Samui and overall had a really enjoyable stay. The hotel itself is excellent. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and very comfortable – the bed is huge and amazingly comfortable. The bathroom was also particularly large and well done. The resort as a whole feels calm, quiet and premium, and it’s clear they are aiming for an upmarket, more adult-focused experience. That said, stepping outside the hotel is quite a contrast. You’re immediately into the busy Chaweng area, which can feel a bit of a jump from the tranquillity inside the resort. Food at the hotel was very good, but noticeably more expensive than elsewhere in the area – drinks and meals were typically around 50–60% higher than nearby options. Not an issue if you’re expecting it, but worth being aware of. Staff were helpful and friendly, although allergen information wasn’t always clear. There were a few inconsistencies on menus (for example, dishes labelled as vegan that included cheese), so it’s worth double-checking if you have specific dietary requirements. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. It’s a really high-quality hotel with excellent rooms and a relaxing atmosphere – just with a few practical considerations around location and pricing.

Songkran was part of our 4 week stay at Buri Rasa Village where the staff put on a touching Blessing Ceremony followed by an On Street party where guests take part in the Water Festival.

My partner and I spent 10 days here in February during our first trip to Thailand and it was fabulous. The hotel is gorgeous, a Thai oasis in busy Chaweng. All the rooms are private little villas.the staff are all lovely and friendly. The beach is the nicest part of Chaweng, gorgeous white sand. The hotel is conveniently located with many restaurants and bars around and easy to get around other parts of the island.
