The Royal Davui is an extremely special place. We stayed 7 nights for our honeymoon and our time spent there was incredible. Starting with the staff- hard to put into words how great the customer service is. We made friends with several of the staff and enjoyed getting to know them. They are great people who genuinely want you to have the best vacation possible. There are so many “small” things they do to surpass your expectations- remembering your name and order(s), the housekeeping and turn down service (you never/rarely see them but your room is always pristine when you return), and helping you build your dream itinerary based on your preferences. The grounds are beyond beautiful. You are submerged in nature so there were some lizard, snake, and bird sightings but nothing really bothered us except the mosquitoes. I recommend bringing some bug spray if mosquitos like you but they do keep some behind the bar they are happy to let you use. The food and drinks were top notch. I am a picky eater so I was worried with a limited pre fix menu but I was able to find something to eat at every meal. We never went hungry as they bring you starters, entrees and dessert. Pro tip- try to head to dinner an hour early to catch the sunset and they will often give you a little pre dinner snack. The cocktails were incredible! We were limited with our excursion options because my husband had recent, unexpected surgery. So we were pretty much land bound. We did the sand cay picnic (definitely recommend), the sunset cruise and a cooking class. I would pass on the cooking class personally just because it was more of a cooking demonstration versus a class but it was still nice. I definitely recommend taking advantage of the free activities they do on certain nights: crab races, cocktail tasting, kava night, etc. Because this beautiful island is remote, the transfers are something to keep in mind. We chose the small plane then boat ride option. I was expecting a small plane- this was a tiny plane! Just be aware if you are someone who doesn’t love flying already (like me). The flight was smooth and logistically they do a great job- just worth giving a heads up in my opinion because I was a little surprised. On the way back, we opted in for the boat and then drive back. It’s about 2.5 hours from pacific harbor to the airport and it was pretty enjoyable. You get to see a lot of the beautiful island and they drive you in a nice SUV. Our driver was lovely. If you are looking to see as much as possible, take the drive at least one way. To The Royal Davui, THANK YOU! BULA. xoxo, McKayla & Mitchell

Staff treated us like family, always friendly and helpful; accommodations were magical, fantastic views of ocean and islands; snorkeling guided tour was fun, enjoyable independent snorkeling; food choices were excellent, 21 meals, all were new to me, well prepared and views from dining areas were gorgeous; pool was inviting, great views of the ocean, of course; first time on jet ski, a kick; enjoyed the sand cay and picnic; they serenaded us for our anniversary at a secluded dining area, very special; special transportation arrangements were made from airport and to and from resort.

My wife and I had never stayed at a high-end resort like this before, and we came in expecting something beautiful and upscale. What we experienced completely exceeded even our highest expectations. From the moment we stepped foot on the island, we were absolutely blown away. I don’t want to give too much away, but I had no idea a resort could operate at such a genuinely high level of hospitality. I’ve always liked boutique hotels because they feel more personal and less tied down by corporate policies—but Royal Davui took that boutique energy and amplified it to something truly extraordinary. When we arrived, the owner and manager were both there waiting to greet us. That alone said everything: this place is serious about your experience. Then the staff sang us a traditional welcome song. I had no idea this was coming—especially as a first-timer—and yeah, I felt awkward for a second, but it was the good kind of awkward. Like, “Holy crap, this place is going to be epic.” After that, they sat us down to go over our itinerary for the week. I had planned this trip nearly a year in advance, and they had everything dialed in exactly how I’d envisioned it. The attention to detail was next level. Then we were shown to our villa—and wow. Hands down the most incredible room I’ve ever stayed in: impeccably clean, ultra-private, and with a stunning view that honestly didn’t feel real. All of that was just in the first hour. What’s wild is that I usually take a few days to settle into vacation mode. Here, it happened instantly. It was like they slapped me in the face with good vibes and I just surrendered. Total vacation trance. And I mean that in the best possible way. Chris, Grant, and Vincent—huge props to you and your team. Every single staff member knew our names and our itinerary. That kind of consistency in service is hard to pull off, and you made it look effortless. It felt like we had stepped into a chapter of Unreasonable Hospitality. One of the main reasons I chose Royal Davui was to experience the coral. I’ve been really worried about the future of coral reefs and wanted to see the best of what the world still has to offer. Within two hours of arriving, I was in the water snorkeling. The house reef alone is better than most snorkeling anywhere in the world. Tons of fish, vibrant soft coral, and no crowds—just thriving marine life. Honestly, I was surprised more people weren’t out there all day. Every night when I closed my eyes, all I could see was coral. To the staff: thank you for protecting this reef. And to future guests: please, don’t touch anything. Let’s keep this place thriving so others can experience it like we did. Then there’s the diving. I’ve never had better dive experiences in my life. The gear was top-notch, the dive boat was incredible, and often it was just my wife and me with the guide. It felt like we had a private dive charter every time. We did four dive days—some sites we dove twice because they were just that good. The shark dive was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. And Seven Sisters… I didn’t know coral could even look like that. At one point, we were surrounded by thousands of colorful fish and coral in every shade imaginable—it felt like being inside a kaleidoscope. We also did the night snorkel, outer reef snorkel, and two sand cay trips. The sand cay is one of the most surreal, beautiful things I’ve ever seen—just you, the ocean, blinding white sand, some good food and beers, and absolute peace. Unreal. Every single day here felt like the best day of my life. I don’t even know how many times I looked at my wife and said, “That was the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life.” It became a running joke by the end of the week—but it was true every single time I said it. And it’s the people here who elevate the experience from luxury to something truly special. You can build beautiful villas, design perfect menus, and place a resort on one of the most stunning islands in the world — but what makes an experience magical is the people. The team at Royal Davui isn’t just trained in hospitality — they live and breathe it. Every smile, every small detail remembered, every moment they made us feel like family — it all created something you can’t manufacture with design or money. That kind of warmth, authenticity, and care is what turns a great resort into a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Back at the resort, we connected with everyone—especially the team at the bar. The food was incredible. The cocktails were fire. The people are what give this place its soul. David’s cocktails company and Iva, Melanias and Ben’s company and service were highlights of the trip! We did every activity on offer, and I recommend doing the same. But also: leave room to just exist here. There’s magic in the stillness too. If you're on the fence, just go. And if you can, get dive certified before you come. You do not want to miss that part of the experience. Royal Davui didn’t just meet our expectations. It reset what we thought was possible for a resort stay. We’ll be back.

Me and my wife just spent 3 nights on this amazing island. We have never experienced such beautiful staff like this anywhere else we have been before. We were made to feel special from the start to the end. The villa was spectacular with ocean views and the food was 5 star every meal every day. Can’t say enough and highly recommend.
