Chabil Mar

Chabil Mar continues to be one of our favorite places to stay in Belize because of the consistently outstanding service and genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The setting is beautiful, with lush gardens, beachfront pools, and spacious villas, but it’s the people who make it truly special. From the moment we arrived, Nikita and Natalie in the front office made us feel like returning family rather than just guests. They were warm, professional, and always ready to help with anything we needed, from questions about the resort to plans around Placencia. Their care and attention set the tone for our entire stay. Most evenings, we relied on Luecha to drive us into town, and those rides became part of what we now look forward to on every visit. He was always punctual, friendly, and full of local insight, which made heading into Placencia village easy and enjoyable. Knowing we could count on him took all the stress out of going out at night. Around the resort, Humberto and Oscar took excellent care of us with meals and drinks, whether we were relaxing by the pool, on the beach, or in our villa. He remembered our preferences, checked on us at just the right times, and always delivered everything with a smile. The food and drinks are great, but his service made every meal feel special. We have returned to Chabil Mar multiple times, and the consistent, top‑notch service from staff like Nikita, Natalie, Luecha, and Humberto is the reason why. Chabil Mar is a beautiful place, but it’s the exceptional team that keeps us coming back and recommending it to others.

This was our 3rd visit to Chabil Mar! The atmosphere is so relaxed and quiet. The food is wonderful and the service and staff are amazing! The rooms are comfortable and clean. The location to Placencia Village is about 5 minutes by golf cart. If you are looking for a slower pace of life and time to relax Chabil Mar is the perfect place to visit!

Wife and I just returned from an anniversary vacation to Chabil Mar. She selected our accommodations and couldn't have done better. They have around 20 villas and we stayed in villa 6 which has a wrap-around deck that sits above one of the pools and fronts to the pier/ocean. Chabil Mar is well settled with old growth-manicured vegetation; all the cool birds and iguanas seemed to have selected the Chabil Mar to stay at as well. The amount of fresh fruits and coconuts on the property is something we have never experienced. The staff is exceptional; from Ferdinand, Nikita, Lionel, Donis, Oscar, Kimberle, Lacho, and the others I haven't mentioned thanks be to you ladies/gentleman. The owner/operators must be in tune with the goings-on of this hotel as every staff member seems to love THEIR property and go above/beyond outside of their individual job scope to keep it beautiful. Most have worked at CM for more than 5 years which says a lot in a resort setting. It is like they walk the property before their shift to notice anything needing tended to and voila it is getting fixed. Ferdinand, a bartender, noticed that the swim ladder on the pier was getting corroded one evening and by 6 AM the following morning it was being cleaned with a brush. My wife and I chose a 4 out of 7 day lunch/dinner option in our package. I strongly recommend eating at CM at the very least a couple meals. Their sandwiches, pasta, fish, were better than anywhere else and their filet/rib-eyes were uncharacteristically tender compared to others we have eaten at resorts. I assume it causes more work for the staff but the concept of eating where you want on the property is absolutely brilliant! We had meals on the pier, by the pool, on our deck, and in our unit watching an NBA Finals game. They even packed us a lunch when we went to Cockscomb National Park for the morning hike/tube. We booked our 3 days of excursions ahead of time as we wanted to specifically go with Jason Williams @ Adventoursbelize. We had heard/read a lot his operation before we arrived but realized once there that Nikita or Kimberle knew him and could have handled that as well. We rented a golf cart through CM on multiple days to travel into Placencia and try other restaurants up at Maya Beach and it was convenient. The CM shuttle also runs to/from town every night after 4 and Lacho will be on stand-by to pick you up from anywhere in town. Don't forget jerk chicken wing day on Sunday's at Chicken Joe's and bring back some extra for the CM staff who can't break away from walking the property and making a list:) Well done CM; we will be back with the fam!

The staff were amazing. The atmosphere is very easy going. The food was great! I would visit here again.

Five stars+ for our Belizean getaway in Placencia! Everything about this stay was perfect. The service was thoughtful and attentive without ever feeling pretentious. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, spotless, and — importantly — free of a single dust bunny. The pools felt like warm bath water, which made it dangerously easy to spend the entire day lounging poolside with one of the bar’s excellent drink specials in hand. Bonus: they’ll serve food right at the pool or deliver it to your room. The food was consistently delicious, but the standout was when the chef cooked the Lion Fish we caught that day. Absolute chef’s kiss. They also offer complimentary bikes, which made riding into town easy and fun. I would highly recommend this property for a girls’ weekend, couples getaway, destination wedding, or any occasion. Belize, you spoiled us a little. 🌴☀️🍹
