Chabil Mar

This place was beautiful. Secluded and quiet with only 20 villas but close enough to walk to the village for action. They also have a shuttle and bikes to borrow or you can rent golf carts. We stayed in the large Seaview Villa, which was perfect for our family of 4. The food was delicious. Highly recommend.

Very very happy with the choice to stay part of pour family trip at Chabil Mar in Placencia! The resort iteself was fabulous with a lot of little touches (a large jug of lemon water by the pool/beach, access to golf carts to get around town) that made the trip really fun, cultural and relaxing all in one! Oscar the waiter was so kind when we had valentines dinner on the pier. All the staff were just lovely. Really great stay! And literally the most comfortable hammocks I have every been on all over the resort! Food here was excellent as well.

My wife and I have stayed at Chabil Mar several times in the past and we keep coming back. The cleanliness is top notch, the suite was spacious and well equipped, the garden is beautiful and well maintained by the gardeners. The staff were very freindly, provided excellent and were happy to assist us when required. We highly recommend Chabil Mar as a wonderful place to stay during your visit to Placencia. We recently spent over 2 weeks at Chabil Mar. It was our 3rd time staying with them and it was just as perfect as our previous visits. Everything about the property is top-notch. Super clean and well-stocked villas with very comfortable beds. Friendly and professional staff who go out of their way to ensure you have the best vacation ever, 2 pools, a beach, great food and drinks and in our opinion the most perfect location on the peninsula. Just at the edge of the village. Quiet and peaceful all day and night but only a 10 minute beach stroll away from the fantastic restaurants and bars of the village. Chabil Mar runs a shuttle to and from the village every hour between 4 and 10 p.m. for those who don't want to walk. The shuttle drivers are the very best and will drop you off wherever you want to go and pick you up wherever you happen to be along the main road when you are ready to return to the quiet of the resort. We definitely plan to return and hope to bring a few more family members with us next year. It has become our home away from home.

Chabil Mar is an excellent boutique resort and we are so glad that we stayed here. We booked a sand and sea package which was a special partnership between The Xanadu resort in Ambergis Caye, and Chabil Mar in Placencia. Both resorts have exceptional staff and service. Chabil Mar is close to the airport and is located on a quiet portion of a gorgeous bay. We stayed in a garden view villa which had a full kitchen, two spacious bedrooms and two large bathrooms. The furniture and beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the deck space the perfect place for a morning breakfast. The property is designed so that all the guests can enjoy the beaty of Belize from the amazing foliage to the pristine beachfront and dock. Although the resort was apparently full, it never felt crowded and we could always find a place to sit at the beach, on the dock, or at the bar. The beach is sandy, clean, and groomed daily. The water is conducive for great swimming from the beach or off the dock. The kayaks and paddle boards are a great way to explore the bay. We had the all inclusive package and enjoyed the well chosen menu and excellent food. The bartenders served top notch quality drinks. We appreciated the many ways that this hotel connects guests with the community whether it is through partner restaurants that we could choose from in our all -inclusive meal package, or through the excellent Belizean guides that led the tour we enjoyed. We had the use of a golf cart for two days which was helpful. It is about 15 - 20 minute walk to the main part of Placencia, which is not far, but the golf cart made exploring the whole town more doable. They also have complimentary bikes to use and a shuttle that operates starting at 4:00 pm. They really make it easy for you to get around and enjoy Placencia. The staff here are truly hospitable, kind and professional and I would stay here again.
