In the heart of Shakespeareâ€(TM)s homeland, Billesley Manor Hotel immerses you in the romance of historic England. This beautiful Elizabethan house is set in 11 tranquil acres just outside the bardâ€(TM)s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon. Each element of the estate captures the essence of the region, from gourmet dining at Stuart Restaurant to accommodations that include romantic 4-poster bedrooms. While here you can indulge in the privileges of landed gentry, such as tennis, spa treatments or a game of croquet on the lawn next to the topiary gardens.

This was an afternoon tea experience bought for my birthday that was ruined by the poor customer service and numerous mistakes that resulted in me making a complaint which, itself, remains unacknowledged. My wife and I arrived, unacknowledged. Sat down at our table as the only couple in the restaurant. The tea was provided along with oat milk as requested. This was finished well before the food arrived half hour later, put in the centre of the table without any comment and left. Food Comprised mainly fish and meat sandwiches despite my wife being vegetarian. Waited for a replacement dish. Tea arrived with normal milk. The waitress came over three times to talk to us, became distracted and walked off mid sentence. There is no customer service there and you feel like you are a low priority. It wasnt very busy but we finished and left unnoticed and wont be returning. God help anyone who has dietary needs or food allergies because they simply dont appear to care.

Lovely old building. The staff were exceptional, motivated to help and smiley friendly faces. Particularly Toby. Nice gardens, tennis courts, didn’t use the spa, however looked okay in the pictures. Stratford Upon Avon 15 minutes away by car.

Check In – we arrived at 11:30pm at night and the front desk staff saw us and asked the bell staff to help with our luggage which was a plus as the property has no lifts (so please request for a ground floor room if that matters). We were informed that we had been upgraded to a Four Poster (website), housed in the main building, and a room which was apparently where Shakespear himself stayed in since this is a 1599 building which went through multiple hands and restorations since. We were also asked for our choice of breakfast or points Room – This room 04 was only accessible via staircase from the lobby and while the concept of it sounds really charming, the reality is that the room turned out to have this really old……..vibe which was not my cup of tea. Would have much preferred the more modern room originally booked but we decided to stick out the experience, because, Manor, correct? The bathroom was thankfully modern and new in every way, including double sinks, a separate shower space, and even a bathtub. Toiletries were Molten Brown (I loved the built in design of the pumps at the sink and shower~) which I haven’t seen for a long time. Breakfast – served from 6:30am-10:00am at Stuart Restaurant, the very colonial-vibe restaurant. The spread was a little disappointing as I was expecting a grander experience from a manor but then again, perhaps it was supposed to be a typical English breakfast spread? Unique enough as my first Manor experience but Id much preferred the more modern rooms. [Full review on Satu Kosong Travels]

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. The history and character of the house have been well preserved, with an added touch of luxury and the food was also really good quality at both dinner and breakfast. We had a House Deluxe room which was a very good size and the bed was very comfortable and the view across the large garden and grounds was spectacular.

We spent 4 glorious November days in the English countryside near Stratford Upon Avon in the Billesley Manor. It was everything and more than we expected. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and sent to our spacious manor house room overlooking an English garden. Each morning the English breakfast was delicious. The Billesley Manor's location was perfect for our exploration of England and we would recommend it highly.
