Excellent two night stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had a two night stay through Secret Escapes. The Manor and the Grounds are very well maintained and quite eye catching on arrival. The recpetion staff were very polite and other staff likewise. A member of the team offered to take the bags to the room, but I delcined. That said the walk to the room was very long as there are no lifts and the stairs although ok for me were not as easy for my wife who was experiencing some issues with her hip. There was one main staircase then some smaller sets further a long. Our fault as we did not ask how far to the room at reception or highlight my wifes matter with her leg. The room itself was lovely, being at the end of a corridor. Very spacious and a very big king size bed. The facilitlies in the room were very good. The shower/bath is clever as it has push button controls for the bath, the main shower or the hand held shower head. The meals in the restautrant were outstanding and would not be out of place in a top restaurant. The restaurant staff were excellent -nothing was too much trouble - and service was with a smile. It was very memorable. I should mention that before we went for dinner we had a welcome drink included in our deal, whihc we had in the bar close to the entry for the restuarant . My wife had a short session coughing and the young male member of staff greeting diners got a glass and some water and brought it over to her. Very thoughtful and I am sorry I did not get his name. Parking unless disabled is a short distance form reception, but you can drop off outside there. Overall a very impressive place to stayand we will be going back when we can.

Lovely Weekend Break

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Just returned from a 3 night stay. Room clean and comfortable, staff all lovely, smartly dressed, very polite and attentive. Food lovely and service in the Stuart Restaurant excellent . Would definitely stay again. Only slight grumble - the toaster at breakfast only toasted on one side of the bread and burnt the other side! Also there is a strang loop of background music playing in the bar - a mix between a harp playing and a weird wailing!! Made us smile! Spa facilities great.

Not impressed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Stayed for 1 night as attending a function in the spa. Trek to room was tiring up and down stairs . Some staff friendly some not . Supper in bar area was pleasant . Room view appalling , just big pipes. Breakfast ..good choice but all warm and scrambled eggs thick and rubbery , coffee vile . Wouldnt return sadly

LOVELY BUILDING & HELPFUL STAFF

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Took the family there (eight of us including two young children). Staff very helpful, food excellent, nice rooms and, for once, a hotel that understands what "disabled access" means. "Accessible" room very good, one minor problem is that there was a small sink in the way of getting my wife easily to the toilet. We had a dining room to ourselves which was superb and sensible as it meant our children did not disturb other diners. Buffet breakfast, lots of choice, staff just need to pay attention to replenishing milk, juice, coffee, especially for our "private" dining area. Children enjoyed the swimming pool and, even though the weather wasn't great, it was a successful visit and the friendly staff made our time there memorable. We will definitely go back.

We spent 4 glorious November days in the English countryside near Stratford Upon Avon in the Billesley Manor. It was everything and more than we expected. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and sent to our spacious manor house room overlooking an English garden. Each morning the English breakfast was delicious. The Billesley Manor's location was perfect for our exploration of England and we would recommend it highly.
