The leisurely town of Zihuatanejo, Mexico - just outside of Ixtapa - lends itself well to lazy days along the Pacific coast. What makes an escape to this part of the world even more alluring is La Villa Zihuatanejo, once a private home that has now been meticulously transformed into a delightfully intimate retreat. With only seven terraced guest rooms housed on multiple tiered floors, you will feel as if you have been invited to weekend in a wondrous Mexican casa. The enchanting chambers, many overlooking the azure bay, are stylishly simplistic with indigenous furnishings and palapa-style balconies for enjoying coffee at sunrise and salt-rimmed margaritas at sunset. A tray of morning favorites is delivered to your doorstep each day.

La Villa Luz. What can i say? Well this was my 5th time staying here and i can’t wait to go back! Ania and Fernanda and their staff of( Isa, Viviana, Antonino, Daniel and ASU) are all incredibly helpful . They make staying here pure joy. The moment you walk in through their front door you can feel tranquility take you over. The “chill” vibe is awesome! You know then that choosing the Luz was the best decision you made to start your trip. It really is a 2 minute walk down to Playa la Ropa. I think la Ropa is one of the best beaches on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. The water is warm and some of the best seafood can be eaten here. The hotel has just added a cafe and a covered terrace bar which were beautifully constructed . You can kick back poolside in the umbrella covered lounges and enjoy something to eat or drink. The rooms are luxurious and relaxing. Ania and Fernanda can help you with any adventure, restaurant suggestion, or things to see or do around Zihua. You won’t be disappointed to say that you stayed at the La Villa Luz!!

Truly love this hotel and all it has to offer... our room was amazing with a beautiful view, the bed was extremely comfortable which to me is important. The Hotel is beautifully decorated and who ever designed it did a phenomenal job. The staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Since we don't know the area and our first time there, Fernanda the manager the most friendliest person you will ever meet helped us with reservations, day trips, and anything else we needed. We loved the short walking distance to the beach, everything is pretty walking distance from us and the Cab station is just a few steps away if we needed to go to the market, marina or downtown. So the location is also great. All in all we will definitely be back and how we found this hotel was through our neighbor who goes every year sometimes twice!

We stayed in LV1 which had the view and it was wonderful. The staff was amazing. Book through their website for free breakfasts. They had fresh baked pastries almost every morning. Be prepared for stairs. I would say my only caution is that if you are sensitive to heat, LV1 room was very open air and therefore didn’t cool off with the AC. However, I slept comfortably all but one night. My husband thinks the open air is positive but he’s not going through menopause.
