We are frequent visitors to Abu Dhabi mainly because of the excellent hospitality we receive from the team at the Fairmont. This visit was no different from the ever friendly welcome in the airport arrival hall by Rafat and his care in safely delivering my family to & from the hotel. Then Rajan and his wonderful team in Fairmont Gold who always seem to find that extra mile. The food in the hotel is of a very high standard however NYE menu was exceptional in the Steak Restaurant and we were delightfully looked after by Samantha & Aleksandr. To be honest there are always a few niggles and service can be slow at peak times for poolside lunch but they will always try to put things right if you tell them. We feel like it’s our home from home, I cannot think of any higher praise. A big thank you Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, see you again soon.

Amazing views of the Grand Mosque from this hotel which really makes it. The service is generally high especially around the pool and at the beach bar. We visited all the restaurants too - the buffet had a good choice and lots of stations where food is prepared to order. Marco’s Italian was good and the Steak restaurant was good but a bit overpriced. The sushi restaurant was very good. Excellent service in Bridges Bar when we went in to ask if we could watch the International T20. The manager checked with the people watching the various football matches which teams they were watching and then used one screen for the cricket. We really appreciated it. We requested interconnecting rooms via email before we arrived and were surprised and pleased that this was accommodated. We were in Fairmont Club rooms on the 5th floor, I think most are on the 7th where the lounge is, but we were not bothered about not being in a 7th floor room. The rooms are huge and comfortable and the shower was great. We stayed over New Year and the hotel was beautifully decorated for Xmas and the NY celebrations were great with lots of options and the fireworks were spectacular with a party on the beach after midnight. We hired one of the boats by the company on the beach at the hotel and that was good fun the pool was always busy and the water temperature was great. We would definitely visit again.

Big thanks to the Fairmont team for how welcoming and attentive they were for our vegan family member. We had rang ahead to let the team Know that one Of the party was vegan but didn’t have high expectations as have tried many brunches in Abu Dhabi and so far have been disappointed. But from our arrival head chef Abhi took him in A tour of the food stations and asked the chef to adapt the dishes to provide a vegan option. The variety was amazing, lovely beetroot salad, ceviche, tacos, sushi vegan burger Tremendously effort and thought. Our waiter Akhil was fabulous throughout kind and attentive. It made such a difference to our day that everyone could enjoy their day and that he felt so well looked after and special. Thank you so much Siobhan

The Ritz Carlton was undergoing renovations and we switched to the Fairmont Abu Dhabi, on an all inclusive, Gold Room Level. Warm welcome on arrival and taken to the Gold check-in on the 7th floor, where Stephen was on hand to provide an overview of the hotel, outline the features for Gold Level and show us to our room. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with large comfortable beds and stunning views of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Whenever I book all inclusive, Im always surprised but just how much is excluded. Fairmount Abu Dhabi is no exception. All inclusive, includes: Breakfast in CuiScene Restaurant Lunch in either Marco's Italian, Mazaj Bab al Bahr or Poolside Dinner: either CuiScene Restaurant, Marco's Italian, Mazaj Bab al Bahr or Bridges Bar Selected non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages by the glass at any of the above. It does not include: Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Cafe Sushi The food was excellent and I was particularly impressed by Marcos Italian. Food was flavoursome and plentiful. Likewise the food in the Gold Lounge was excellent. It probably doesn't make sense to book both Gold Level and All Inclusive. The Gold Room provides breakfast on the 7th Floor (egg station and extensive selection), afternoon snacks and then canapés and alcoholic drinks between 5pm and 7pm. This would be sufficient on its own, without the addition of all inclusive. The hotel has its own private beech but it's easy enough to walk between adjoining hotels, along the waterfront, to the local souk where there is a selection of restaurants and shops. The beach and pool areas are clean, spacious and have plenty of loungers to relax. Towels are provided and the service as always, is first rate. There is a swim up adult pool, but as is often the case, the 'adult only' is not enforced and the swim up bar is full of kids, the heated pool (age over 12) is full of kids. Most hotels in the UAE compete to draw in locals at weekends and on public holidays; offering extensive brunches or 'day passes' to visit the hotel and use the facilities. Consequently, at these times, it is overflowing kids. We arrived at on a weekend which was followed by a national holiday so our timing could not have been worse. If possible, try to book Monday - Friday and get out before the weekend arrives. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
