Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi

Our 6 night stay at the Shangri-La was nothing short of exceptional. The highest standard of customer care was received throughout our entire stay by all staff members from reception, concierge, restaurants, pool staff to Naga and Juna in housekeeping. Food options were equally outstanding with a wide range on offer in the buffet restaurant to the superb Shang Palace which we visited several times. I booked to stay for a relaxing weekend with my family, but on Saturday there were loud construction works taking place that we hadn’t been informed about. I don’t think it’s appropriate for an establishment like this to carry out such noisy work on a weekend, especially so close to guests. It completely disrupted the relaxing experience we were expecting.

First time at this hotel in Abu Dhabi, but not first time in Abu Dhabi, which we have always enjoyed. Absolutely fabulous hotel and a true 5 star. We stayed in a horizion premier club room with the facilities of the club lounge. The first evening we had a meal in the main bar lounge. Very gd and lovely staff. The following morning we had brekkie in the main restaurant as the club wasn’t open until 1pm. Summer hours I think they said open all day from 1st Oct. The choice at brekkie was brilliant. The rest of the time we had brekkie in the club lounge. Also brilliant. They cooked our eggs perfectly. We especially enjoyed the poached eggs with avocado on sourdough toast. The service was perfect. The room and housekeeping was fantastic, plenty water in the room and towels replaced twice a day. You choose how often bed linen changed too. We never met the housekeeping staff, but they made a great job. Thank you. We went to the beach, everything great, friendly staff, plenty beach towels and water in ice in cool boxes twice a day. We could have had more but that was plenty. We never used pool as we love the beach. Pooch and his staff could not do enough for you. Friendly, efficient and their hospitality is amazing. The lady who made us the coffee expresso martinis were lovely too.(Ravisander I think , if I have spelt correctly).The chefs make fantastic food , the choice on offer is amazing. The bar downstairs also make lovely cocktails, tried quite a few !! Reception also good too. I’m sorry if I’ve gone on , but I can’t stress how fantastic this hotel and their staff are and what they do for everyone on a daily basis. We had a beautiful holiday, thank you. And hopefully be back.

Every time I come to Abu Dhabi this is the place that I stay. They make you consistently feel that it is your home away from home. Nadir was extremely helpful. I mentioned some issues with the check in process and he immediately remediated it. He has a great way off handling issues and immediately making things brighter for the guests. He is really a leader and his staff quickly turned around as well. I want to also point out that Nadir and his team really made me feel special on my birthday with all the details they added in my room, the sweets and the beautiful cake. They really went above and beyond. The housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff are also great.
