Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi

We were at this beautiful hotel when the recent hostilities began. Very alarming when suddenly everyone's phones started making that horrendous noise, with messages to get indoors immediately. Soon afterwrads heard that the airport had been hit, and all flights were cancelled for the time being (we were due to fly home 4 days later). So a very nasty shock; but the hotel was superb. No panic, no nonsense, everyone calm, helpful and as professional as ever. Added to which the UAE government immediately stepped in and paid for the extra nights - can you imagine that happening in the UK?? We were very lucky - we were placed on a flight just three days after our original booking, and got out and home safely (though a much longer re-routed flight). Now I worry about the hotel, indeed about the whole region. Tourism has become such an incredibly important part of the economy of the UAE, and other gulf states, that it is going to hit them very hard, and may take years to re-balance. So sad in this particular case, because hotels as effortlessly excellent and outstanding as the Shangri-La at Qeryat al Beri are always going to be few and far between in the world. We send our thanks and our very best wishes to all the wonderful staff, and hope against hope that we will be able to return one day in the future.

Very disrespectful team specifically the reception department including their manager on duty… One of their team members dropped the call while I was still talking to her because she didn’t like that I’m asking for late check out and while asking to transfer the call to the manager she dropped the call giving an excuse that she wanted to speak to the manager😂. While speaking to the manager he didn’t even apologise for whatever happened. If you are looking for a place to relax this won’t be your option.

Have stayed here several times and it always delivers an exceptional experience.What obviously complicated matters this time was the USA Iran war and the impact on the Gulf States. In the face of all the challenges this event brought, the staff still delivered a wonderful experience remaining calm and friendly. We were truly grateful for all the help and assistance provided by the Hotel. Mr Hadi Osta, Rooms Director and his staff supported us impeccably and ensured minimum disruption. Birthday decoration of our room, as always, was memorable. The Horizon Club floor was amazing with Jane, Pooch, Aerielle and Madhuri looking after all our needs. Special mention of Primo at Concierge desk who assisted with Flight enquiries which was stressful to say the least. Finally Ajaya and Suresh at the Pool area were charming and their chatter help distract from some of the stress associated with the airspace closure. While we were glad to finally get home our thoughts are with all the wonderful staff we met and hope they remain safe.

Bright, clean, and incredibly cozy rooms

I had a great stay at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. Everything was excellent and the service was outstanding. Special thanks to Abdullah ehab for his kindness and professionalism — he truly made the experience even better. Highly recommended!
