Set on the coast just 20 minutes from South airport, Tivoli La Caleta Resort is a beautiful and upmarket modern style hotel within the shell of old style Mediterranean buildings. The BoHo chic furniture and modern design sit comfortably together with the Canarian regional architecture. Our room was a full sea view and was based on the 4th floor of the five floor central part of the resort. Double sinks and a bath and shower were spacious and spotlessly clean. Only fault I would say were the bath robes were small and had seen quite a few previous users, but they were clean. A kettle and coffee machine provided along with iron and ironing board. English speaking BBC and ITV channels available but no sports channels in the room. There is a very nice sports bar which shows sports and serves food as well. It is all done in a very modern and upmarket way. Prices of food and drinks reflect that. The 'Seen' beachside restaurant is a highlight with fabulous food and a great atmosphere with live unobtrusive music or a DJ playing with low volume during evening dinner. Breakfast was buffet served and had any amount of choices of food hot and cold. The main pool is seawater and is a welcome refreshing break from the heat. A heated pool is also onsite. Staff were all to be complimented for their friendliness and courtesy. I have to say i will return.

We've stayed at the Tivoli La Caleta on a number of occasions ourselves, with family and with friends. This time we had another super family break , with our 1 y/o grandchild. The hotel has recently been renovated and is in great condition. Spacious rooms, top class cleanliness, and consistently good daily room tidy ups and fresh towels when needed. We enjoyed adjoining rooms with fantastic balcony views out to the sea and late afternoon /evening sunshine. As always, the staff at the hotel were super from the moment we arrived and helped us out whenever we needed their assistance during our stay. The breakfast options cover all the bases, with eggs, omelettes and frittatas cooked to order, and everything kept replenished. Restaurant staff are very attentive and take time to chat. Options to eat inside or on the open air sections are great. We ate at the on-site offerings, SEEN, the on-site open air bistro / bar and Yakuza, the Japanese themed restaurant. Both times, excellent food options and really delicious on the plate. Yakuza was very busy when we arrived and there was a bit of a gap before we were attended to, but the manager sorted everything out for us and we had a very tasty range of dishes. Both eateries are busy, so book early. There are three swimming pools (one 'adult only' which we've had the pleasure of using in the past), all immaculately maintained with food and drinks served by the team from the lower poolside bar Guilty, which offers a great set of menu options poolside or at the bar itself. If you want a bit more 'restaurant' dining during the day, beside Guilty there's Gusto restaurant, We haven't tried it but given the number of guests using it, it appears a good choice too. The hotel is in a great location, between El Duque and La Caleta and there's a good beachfront walkway to take you either way. El Duque is the more modern part with a mix of day to day and designer outlets. But for us it's the La Caleta direction we go mostly. There's a beach bar a few hundred metres from the hotel on the walkway where you can have a sit down, coffee, etc. and watch the paragliders land right n front of you on the small landing area. Further on is the old village itself with a range of cafes and restaurants sitting on the cliffs where you can simply watch the world go by, enjoy the noise of the ocean breaking in front of you, or watch the locals try to catch a fish. Looking forward to our next visit.

A beautiful hotel that hasn't lost what was good about the previous brand (Sheraton) but has improved it in multiple ways. The bars, restaurants, lounges are plentiful with all open at any time (which can be unusual with some hotels). The hotel was almost full but you never felt crowded in and the variety of options re where to just relax, sunbathe, drink, eat or take in the beautiful hotel grounds and ocean beyond were lovely. Upper terrace area had beautiful uncovered and covered seating (although you need lots of pillows on some chairs as they must be built for people with very long legs!). My husband thought the hotel had one of the best Sports Bars he's ever seen! He would have liked to see notice of what games (football and rugby) were going to be shown but that was a minor issue. Only slight negative re the beautiful pool areas was lack of help putting up poolside umbrellas. There are both lifeguards and poolside attendants but not a great deal of vigilance around people trying to put up unfamiliar umbrellas. I burn easily so it's a need as opposed to an option for me when the sun is out. Our room looked great and was a welcome retreat particularly as there was major stormy weather when we were there. The room looked over the pools and the outside terrace and also down to the Ocean (side sea view which was lovely). There was plenty of space, great tv, bathroom was spacious with separate bath and shower area (shower was fantastic!) and twin sinks so no crowding! Plentiful complimentary water every day was perfect. Our balcony was a generous size with very comfortable seating. This hotel possibly had the most diverse range of guest ages and groupings from babymooners, young families, friend groups, large family gatherings, young and more mature couples. A hotel that caters for all (although I didn't see a little park for children - there might be one somewhere?). We visited the gym (located just over the road from the hotel entrance) frequently and found it a perfect antidote to eating and drinking. Only minor issue was not enough mats as we like doing our own yoga/stretching session but other than that exceptionally well equipped. The food was of extremely high quality wherever you chose to eat with the evening buffet option of exceptional high standard. Just outside of the hotel we also ate at a number of restaurants and they were also of a very high standard. The staff are incredible, obviously very well trained and take a pride in their jobs/profession. We witnessed a lady guest fall and it took not even a second for multiple members of staff (and one very quick guest) to run and assist. The lady was attended to beautifully with a clear plan as to how they would seek medical help if necessary and a wheelchair was also provided in seconds. This type of almost automatic but well executed customer service was quite breathtaking to witness. So congratulations for creating the type of hotel we would like to visit often (our go to in Tenerife! now).

In summary; 1: great location near the fishing village of La Caleta. Upmarket area with great promenade 2: highly impressive building in Moorish style and distinctive terracotta construction. Looks even better from the inside 3: gardens and 3 swimming pools are beautifully set out with mature planting. 4: premier room on fifth floor spacious and well set out. Bed very comfortable and large bathroom equally pleasing. Two balconies to catch morning and evening sun 5: Gusto was a very high quality buffet with wide variety of offerings and innovative themes. No need to eat elsewhere 6; Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Special shout out for Luis in the sports bar who made the place distinctive and to the omelette chef whose family were based in Malaga who went beyond the usual expectation. Both management material. Thank you to Barbara in Gusto for the service and the smile. The cleaning staff on the fifth floor were really appreciated-nothing too much trouble Hints for improvement 1 difficult to find out what was going on in the hotel- a list of entertainment plus the sports covered in the sports bar would have been appreciated 2: like many hotels in the town, the Tivoli is not designed for winter. Often too cold but aggravated by an air conditioning system which made it colder. Nobody in the tea bar and around that area. I am sure this could be improved by a little investment or even switching off the air on and closing doors. You do lose a lot of bar trade 3: the background music around the pools etc did not match the demographic of the clients. I see the standard response to other complaints was all about ambience but the grating drum and bass caused me to reach for ear plugs 4: it was commented that the Tivoli might be getting a little complacent after its success. Some staff attitudes verged on the arrogant and having to carry cases down upon departure after a failure to collect is not a good advertisement for a five star hotel BUT a great place with good people and a good product offering
