First Stop Reassurance

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This was our first stop in Adelaide . We arrived on the first night of the Adelaide festival . The hotel is solid , from a former era . It works and the rooms and views are great . You are mixing tourists and local contractors. The breakfast was surprisingly tasty. The location was just right for orientating ourselves on the opposite side of the world. Had dinner there one night having come straight from the theatre in the heavy rain . A nice welcome to Australia.

Excellent gym!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We were looking for a hotel in Adelaide with a highly rated gym. We weren’t disappointed and were quite happy we chose this hotel. The location is great, right in the central city next to the Adelaide convention center. Just a short walk out to the river and all the river trails and recreation opportunities therein. No parking on site. You have to park in a public garage about 200m away. No big deal, but not the most convenient either. Our room was amazing with excellent views over the city. It was spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable – and we had a great sleep. The TV, AC, and Wifi all worked great. The gym was great for a hotel gym, with a good selection of machine weights, free weights, and high-quality cardio machines. We’re avid gym goers and must admit that we were very happy with this gym. We didn’t eat at any of the restaurants so can’t really comment on that side of things. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend it to other travelers looking for a good comfortable base in Adelaide.

Good hotel in a convenient location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed here for 2 nights during our holiday in South Australia and we were not disappointed. As usual at InterContinental hotels the overall service is good, rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. The hotel was probably built at the end of the 80's or beginning of the 90's and this can clearly be seen from the style of the building, nevertheless the overall structure and the rooms are well maintained.

Exceptional care and kindness during an unexpected stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I cannot thank the team at the InterContinental Adelaide enough for their incredible support during a challenging week. I was unexpectedly stranded at the hotel for over a week, and the level of service and genuine care I received was world-class. A special and heartfelt thank you goes to Kenneth, Arnab, Andrew, and Atin. They were extremely kind, considerate, and went out of their way to ensure I was comfortable and well-looked after during a stressful time. Their professionalism and empathy truly stood out. I also want to extend my gratitude to the entire team—from the concierge and reception desk to the housekeeping staff. Everyone treated me and my team with such warmth and attention to detail. The InterContinental Adelaide is a beautiful property, but it is the people who make it truly exceptional. If you are looking for a hotel that genuinely cares about its guests, look no further.

Basics are good; very few frills

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This hotel does the basics well. The rooms are quiet, the bed is comfortable, air conditioning works well, and the housekeeping is efficient. It is not luxury. The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned - and the breakfast was a bit disappointing. We stayed for 4 nights - and the hotel got very busy on the last two, so the breakfast offering was curtailed (whilst the room rate became higher).
