Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection, Crete

Came to DofE as a family of four in Easter 2026 and I’ve been so very impressed with our whole stay. The resort is beautiful, rooms spacious, beach is gorgeous and perfect for young kids but with an adults only section as well. Actually they do a really good job creating separate spaces for families and adult travellers without it feeling disconnected. The place has a great way of being busy but never crowded, due to being spread over a large hill with golf carts for shuttle traffic around. I really enjoyed the included fitness classes, the Pilates instructor was lovely. My daughter also had swim lessons which she loved and the teacher was great and she even gave adult swim technique lessons which was fun. Last big shout out is for the Kiepos Crèche and kids club. The manager Eleni and staff are so warm, genuinely caring and engaged and it made a huge difference to get 3hrs of peace a day knowing the 1 and 4 year olds were in great hands. They handled settling in so well, even for kids who were a bit emotional and created a really fun and calm space for the kids. I’m surprised to not see more parents using the crèche for under 4s! Also worth knowing the resort is a short drive from some nice towns so you can explore a bit as well! We rented a car and it gave us a lot more flexibility, even if you could fill the days at the resort I’m sure.

Beautiful scenery. Sights and sounds were outstanding. But, what stands out, was how wonderful the staff was. From reception, housekeeping, restaurants etc… Everyone couldn’t be nicer. Would totally go back, and recommend to anyone who asks

We stayed in a villa and thank god we did. Every other pool was FREEZING and I MEAN FREEZING. Everyone complaining - But our villa was heated so lucky. Food - No - After 4 days we eat out - It was just below average Offered discount and a comp meal - we refused . Location is nice and beach great - Yoga was good but get booked quick - we had 4 slots thanks - other not so lucky gym nice noise level fair Service - not great at best 3 star

Bad move. First of all - the rooms. Here is the thing... if you open the window at night to get a fresh air - you will not be able to sleep because of the shuttle carts running all night long - back and forth, back and forth!!! If you close your window and put the aircon on - you will not be able to sleep because the cold air is blowing right into your face and, there is nothing you can do about it. It's the way how the aircon is placed in the room. Second... Breakfast. If you want to see and hear screaming kids, running around like a wild animals, putting most of their food on the floor rather than in their mouth...then - this place is for you. Talking about the food... we visited couple of restaurants on the site and I am telling you - the food is despicable. Most of our dinners we have had they were outside of the resort. Lobby bar... Well, it stinks. Not everyone can stand the aromas of the spa, with the strong smell of herbs or other stuff they use. The smell penetrates to the bar and gives me a headache. Were in that bar only once, that was it. Next... the beach... There is NO BEACH!!! It's just an access to the water. Pitiful. The beach bar... What a shame, really...Drinks are extremely expensive and not good at all. And, after all, the bartenders come to you and ask you to write a good review on Tripadvisor about them???????? Fantastic family resort in a beautiful location. This review is based on our second visit in October 2025. Something between 6-9 nights is a maybe good duration for your stay. Don’t forget making dinner reservations early on. Take our comments with a grain of salt - we are somewhat demanding. + Excellent, super friendly and helpful staff - truly outstanding. Beautiful location, breathtaking views, fantastic beach with clear water - also suitable for smaller children. Very well designed and furnished new rooms in 9XX area with private outdoor tub and beautiful seating area. However, the new beds in these rooms are too soft for our taste - if you are used to sleep on a hard mattress, request a hard topper. Beautiful resort outdoors with lots of native plants, organic herb garden. Great food at Antonino‘s (Italia, we tried 7 different dishes and each one was great) and Villebrequin (Fish, catch of the day). It takes about 1.5 hours to get to the resort by car from Heraklion airport, the transfer service works reliably. o Suites in the 3XX area are nicely designed but have seen better days. Especially the bathroom felt a bit small and outdated, with older amenities in need for a makeover. On the positive side, these suites have the best view on the Spinalonga island and work well for families with kids as the living room can be remade into a childrens‘ bedroom. Food in the main buffet restaurant (Tholos) is OK, we recommend going for the Greek options. Breakfast is nice, very good fresh omelettes, poor coffee (except you prefer filter which is great). Dinner at Blend (steak place) is very good, however some dishes were a bit too roasted for our taste. Rooms are well cleaned, some areas could take a bit of an extra effort (e.g. below the sofas). - Outdoor gym and tennis court need a makeover. Both are beautifully located with views of the bay but equipment is worn out (especially the tennis rackets etc. albeit at the end of the season).
