Beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, great facilities and genuinely lovely people

We had such a fantastic holiday at Domes of Elounda. It’s a really beautiful resort, with amazing facilities and absolutely spectacular views across the sea and towards Spinalonga. The food was excellent and we loved having such a good variety of restaurants to choose from. Makris was a particular highlight – the setting is gorgeous and we loved the saxophone player, which made the evening feel really special. The beach was lovely and the watersports facilities were brilliant – a definite highlight for us and great to have so much available right there. Most of all, the staff were wonderful. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. A special mention has to go to Pavlina, who looked after us on the beach every day. We loved seeing her and she always made us feel so welcome. Beautiful surroundings, fantastic food, great facilities and genuinely lovely people. We had an amazing time and would happily return.

Don’t think we’ll be back

Second time here at Domes of Elounda… Can’t say I am impressed this time. The overall quality of services has declined over the past year. Food is hit and miss, breakfast is less rich in healthy options, lots of pastries, breads and cereals full of sugar. No freshly squeezed juices, no fresh milk! It’s all UHT milk poured in to glass bottles to make it look swish. Lunch at Vilebrequin was good, however, I thought it was a bit odd they had Aqua Panna and San Pelegrino instead of their nice Zaro!? Why the unnecessary hype ? Promote your own and stop serving stolen water … Dinner at Antonini… sub par! Nothing like what the previous restaurant last year used to serve. Staff are always kind and affable though which is a plus. The big HOWEVER : it is kids heavy! We also have two young children but oh my goodness… some parents really can’t understand that their children do not own the place! Annoyingly, the staff or the management are not doing anything in this respect. Really noisy breakfast and dinner services in Antonini and the Thalos (btw the evening buffet is a massive NO! from us). The lobby should be nicer, it is full of loud families who have no respect for the place, again, talking loudly and as if they own the place; the food on display os recycled from breakfast and dinner and is not fresh. The wines are ok… Makris ? Nah… the sommelier tries too hard and pushes the wines the resort wants to sell. Rooms can be cleaner, less clutter the better, dirty cushions and outdoor furniture on patio; pool paint peeling off and flaking in the water which presents a genuine health hazard for obvious reasons. Beach is … small but ok, they could clean it better. We also had a child towelling set stolen from the beach changing room on the beach, we flagged this up with the concierge several times but it was never found, I can only assume it was “taken” by another guest, which again kind of makes me re think the moral compass of the guests in this resort ( no fault to the staff or hotel, just makes you wonder what kind of people visit this place and look for a bargain in the changing rooms 😂🤪). The buggies are sparse and you sometimes have to wait up to 20 min to get from A to B , frustrating if you ask me! There is litter all around the Neema pool and the downstairs bathrooms are questionable in terms of cleanliness. I could go on but I got bored of writing. Not coming back

Welcoming stay

We had such a lovely experience, especially thanks to Patsani Eleni. There were four of us with a baby, and as we are vegetarian, she went above and beyond to accommodate us. She made sure we had plenty of food and catered everything to our needs, which we really appreciated. She was so attentive and came over to check on us multiple times throughout our visit to make sure everything was okay. Her kindness, care and effort really made us feel welcomed and looked after. We left feeling so happy with our experience. Patsani was absolutely amazing and is a real credit to the team. Thank you so much for making our visit so special! ❤️

Lovely hotel with great views and friendly staff.

Just finishing a 10 day holiday at this hotel with my wife and teenage daughters. We had a lovely time and preferred to spend our days relaxing by the beautiful beach and ample bathing zone. The options at the Buffett were fairly decent, it never felt overly crowded and the staff were great in being attentive and regularly cleaning. But the food at the restaurants were pretty tasty. So well worth it. The site was very clean and all over the staff were very busy keeping things that way and we were always treated with a warm welcome. The Haute lounge was good to have, although a few more food options and another choice of beer would be welcome. They had a good selection of spirits there. But needed some lemon/lime and beer glasses rather than tumblers and wine glasses. The single options of sparking, white, rose and red pretty good. The outdoor area there seems more like an afterthought and could do with improving. We only used the pool once as we preferred the vista from the beach. The gym area at the haute lounge was ok with some free weights, a barbel and some bands. The outdoor training area was good. A squat and bench rack and some calisthenic gear and a Rig. Being quite exposed it was always pleasantly windy and had a great view. Running options from the site are great. You’ve really got to get out before 8am as it gets too hot. But I ran up into the mountains several times and whilst the mountains are high, the roads up them have gentle inclines and are quiet and in good condition. You can also have a proper swim as the bathing area is quite wide and deep enough. One morning I was up early before the boat trips to spinalonga and swam over to the island on the far side and was fortunate to see a Stingray. At times the wind can pick up and make swimming tougher. It’s great to be able to glance across to Spinalonga from the beach, hotel and our room. Our room was spacious, modern and had a relaxing balcony which had a hot tub which we felt we had to use. Overall we had a good time and it was good to get some decent recreation alongside the relaxation and food.
