Relaxing

We stayed for one night on our way back to St Malo. The chateau is very pretty, with lovely grounds and a very pleasant pool area. After a pre dinner drink in the salon, we moved outside for supper on the lawn. The food was very good. We stayed in The Orangerie. A large, quirky, fun and interesting room. It was 40 degrees during our stay. There is nothing that the owners could have done about that but the room was rather stuffy. There was one good fan and perhaps a second better fan would have helped. Breakfast in the dining room was continental style and ample. I would recommend a stay here

I cannot rate this place highly enough.Driving for England ticks a lot of boxes: Good stopover en route middle or west France Avoid Paris Charming chateau and staff Very dog friendly with safe large park and forest The decor is charming, lie, a film set Was 39 degrees so dinner outside was a real treat: a courgette mint burrata to start, beef with sweet potatoes, melon soup lemon sorbet with meringue was all delicious!

A hidden gem

This is a magical place ! Utterly beautiful chateau in immaculate grounds with gorgeous flowers and trees and a massive manicured lawn. Cute swimming pool and the rooms are extraordinary and filled with surprises (shower in a secret cupboard!). Just delightful. Dinner on the lawn was delicious and atmospheric. Staff are charming and welcoming. It was a real surprise and we will return !

Perfect place to stay on way to or back from the South of France

Surrounded by rather dreary light industry you sweep through gates into a little oasis. Glorious building, gardens and huge parkland. Our dog was in seventh heaven. Our ground floor room was very comfortable and well stocked with delicious things to eat and drink, and we enjoyed having drinks before dinner with the other guests and then a “no choice’ but excellent three course dinner with a good and affordable wine list. Breakfast also excellent. No idea what the previous reviewer meant; suspect she is just a troll; must be a nightmare for people who run hotels when you get someone who just loves to be nasty
