Great hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A gem in the middle of Montazah! It’s a must hotel to stay at if you visit Alexandria, no need to go out of the hotel it’s just a relaxing and serene place. you can enjoy using their private beach and dinning at their restaurants or enjoy the amazing view from the balcony of the room, every room of the hotel has a view. The hotel itself is very well maintained and very clean. I have to mention Essam from housekeeping for his great hospitality to make sure our rooms are stocked with toiletries and amenities , I can tell why housekeeping standards are high and it’s because of him, he is pleasant and attend to your needs right away. The staff at the restaurant are very nice and welcoming. Also Mohamed or Ahmed Gamal at the front desk was very nice to deal with. Every one at the hotel was pleasant and kudos to the management staff for managing such well maintained and clean hotel and providing excellent training to the staff.

Charming Location, but Some Areas Need Improvement

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

Helnan Royal Hotel has a certain charm, though it feels a bit outdated, with rusty bathrooms and older fixtures. Despite this, the hotel is clean and situated within the stunning Palm Gardens, perfect for long, scenic walks. The view of the Mediterranean Sea is beautiful, though not ideal for swimming—bring aqua shoes if you plan to explore. Breakfast was average, and not all food items were properly labeled, which made it difficult to navigate. Additionally, the breakfast staff could have been friendlier. Overall, it’s a comfortable choice for a short stay.

Avoid

The only thing that kept me from giving the hotel a terrible rating was the front desk, housekeeping and beach team. Otherwise it was an unpleasant stay. I had a metal bar sticking out of the bathroom floor. Many staff expect tips; they won't leave after providing service unless you pay. The breakfast was very bad. The waiters serve certain guests who give them tips. It is very common for them to pass you in line to make a sandwich for a guest. The guests have no idea what respect for others means. Either they have not learned it or they think it can be bought with money. Its really sad to see a beautiful place like Montzah and the Palestine Hotel suffering like this.
