The Hotel is about 30 mins from Faro airport and in the heart of Quinta do Lago. The area around the hotel is beautiful. Landscape verges, manicured golf courses, shopping centre and an abundance of restaurants and bars. The Hotel is Modern, spacious and has everything you need from pool bars and restaurants serving snacks to fine dining, to a well kitted out gym, tennis courts and the spa of course. The rooms are spacious, beds comfy, aircon quiet. The balcony we had was huge overlooking the gardens and beyond to the sea and sunsets. The shower room was modern, great shower, lots of toiletries, two basins and plenty of towels. Plenty of hanging space, but ring down for more hangers as there are only 4 drawers. Fridge, safe but no tea or coffee making facilities, again, ring reception and they will bring those to you. Nice touches like a fresh rose in the room and welcome bottle of port on arrival, however, we only had 1 complimentary bottle of water in the room when we arrived and nothing thereafter. We had to buy water. Absolutely no complaints about the room itself and the overall beauty and facilities of the hotel. The breakfast was first class, we only noticed the hot plates near the freshly cooked eggs station on our last day though. It looks like a black rubbish bin and up until the last day, when someone reached in and took out a plate, we used cold plates which is a bit of a bug bearer with me when it comes to hot food. If you ask for coffee you will get a jug of strong coffee but there is machine coffee you can ask for at breakfast instead, like latte etc, which I preferred. Plenty of sunbeds near the pools with enough space to move around. Pool towels are placed on them for you by the pool attendant and they are all fairly close to the pool bar. If you can catch a waiters eye they will take orders but that was not always easy to do. Great pools and a jacuzzi. The beach is a bit of a trek, especially if its hot. My friend is partially sighted and it took us 30 mins to walk from the rear of the hotel down to the walkway, up to the wooden bridge, across the 400meter bridge past Gigi’s, past the small beach bar(no seats or tables) to the 2nd concession of sunbeds belonging to the hotel. We were set up at our selected sunbed with towels and a small bottle of water. We could not see any facilities so we only stayed a couple of hours. We didn't go back. It was too much of a trek in the heat so we booked Ubers to Julia’s bar and beach area thereafter. I can highly recommend Julia’s. The hotel are great even when you are visiting other beaches though and will give you beach towels in a shoulder bag to take with you from reception. If there is a negative, I didn't think the hotel beach had enough in terms of service, shaded areas to sit rather than lie down, or facilities to feel comfortable there. Something they may want to think about working on as we spent the whole of 3 days at Julia’s and spent quite a bit of money. I would also request a lift to the hotels beach area, in a golf buggy or something, to access the wooden bridge from the carpark close to the bridge if I felt I wanted to go again, especially on a hot day. The food and service in the restaurant was outstanding as was the service in general. It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel to the Shack, just turn right out of the back of the hotel and follow the boardwalk. Enjoy looking at the birds and fishes in the lake on the way. We did experience a problem, which I feel was something unlikely to happen to anyone else again. Theresa, the manager dealt with it in an exemplary fashion. Things do go wrong sometimes and a measure of customer service is generally how well things are handled when they do. Theresa was brilliant and went beyond my expectations. All of the staff we met went out of their way to make us feel special, I wish my memory for names was better so I could name them all. There was one lady I do remember and that was Barbara. She was a star. Made you feel you had known her all your life and always smiling. This is a great hotel. I would recommend it if you are not fussy about the beach experience or don’t mind travelling to other beaches. It is the only criticism I have in terms of proximity to the beach and facilities on it.

This is a beautiful hotel with a lot to recommend it despite a shaky start. The check in process was not great, we never got called to say our room was ready, were not given information about the hotel services, were given incorrect information about something else, and it would have been to have offered a drink and cold towel to refresh after our journey as is the case in many other 5 star hotels. Particularly as our room was not ready. Anyway; luckily better service was offered else where. Our room was lovely, really comfy bed and nice linens. The bathroom had a huge shower and double sink with a good number of towels and toiletries. We requested a tea tray which was delivered and were also given some treats to celebrate our anniversary which was lovely. The pool area was beautiful with nice towels, loungers and attentive service. We ate both breakfast in the restaurant and lunch at the pool bar and both were good food with a wide variety of choice. Barbara who led the breakfast team was fantastic and should be put in charge of training everyone else. The pool and lounge bar service was more inconsistent.. The hotel organised a taxi to a local restaurant and it was ridiculously expensive - next time I would investigate uber! It is an about a 10-15 minute walk to the beautiful beach where the hotel has loungers. You can hear planes going over the hotel and the environment of Quinta da Lago itself is quite sterile despite being beautifully manicured. You can’t walk to many of the restaurants despite it looking as though they are close on a map. It is a great place for a short break as so easy to get to and we would happily return on that basis.

Excellent Hotel, lovely Rooms, only criticism is water is not replenished daily in the rooms.. breakfast is delicious! As was dinner on the evenings we chose to dine there. Staff in all areas are extremely helpful and pleasant. I really recommend this hotel, it was lovely for a relaxing break. Pool area is very nice as were the lovely staff.

We stay at the hotel at least twice a year for the last 4 years as a group of 8 - 10 people. The hotel it self is very good clean and the grounds are beautiful with lovely walks. The food is good and the bar does have some entertainment on at times. On the downside we have experienced last year and this year the pool attendant Carlos needs to chill out, he had a very negative attitude towards my family last year and this year he was quiet rude to my wife newly married and actually upset her and myself. I decided to let it pass as it was our last day but had a negative impact on our visit. All the other staff are lovely including Steve at breakfast who we did build a good relationship over the years. I appreciate that the pool is for quiet time if a child jumps in they are just having fun so Carols needs to settle himself down as I felt like putting him in the pool on the last day.

I visited with my sister in May (and also the previous May!) and we can’t wait to return again. We had a lagoon view room and it was well laid out and very clean. The bathroom was spacious with room for everything we needed. Lots of wardrobe space. Beds were comfortable. The balcony was a lovely spot for watching the sunset with a nice cold drink. There was a lot of choice for breakfast, special mention for Barbara and the team but especially the young man who always finds decaf tea! The pool area was always spotless and very relaxing. Amazing snacks at the pool bar where the service was excellent - special shout out for the lovely Kelly! This time we ate dinner in the hotel most nights, there were some absolutely delicious menu options and we ate very well. The dinner crew were very professional but also good fun. We love this hotel (and the staff particularly) and I’m sure we’ll return again.
