The building now known as Hospes Amerigo went through many incarnations before it turned into a sleek, design-centric hotel in the heart of Alicante. It was first the Dominican Convent of Alicante before morphing into an office block and an apartment complex, and its history imbues the hotel with distinction. Bold details, such as geometrically abstract silk wall hangings, complement a neutral color scheme, while the rooftop restaurant and spa complex draws guests day and night. Alicante’s nightlife is sizzling, but it’s hard to resist a post-dinner massage.

Travelled to Alicante for a family members birthday and had a lovely experience staying at the hotel. Very welcoming and went above and beyond when we needed something. The staff were lovely and helpful. The room that we stayed in was clean and had all the amenities that we needed. Thank you to all for a great experience.

I loved this hotel. It was my first time at a Hospes hotel and I look forward to future visits. Yes, the location was perfect. And the hotel was lovely, modern and clean. But it was the service that set this hotel apart, and I will judge future hotels by this standard. We were greeted with a cold glass of cava, the housekeepers were amazing , the food was really good in the bar and restaurant, and I loved the way they presented the beach towels - service elevated! I cannot wait to return!

What a lovely hotel. We were lucky to have an upgrade on arrival to a lovely room with his and hers sinks, bath and shower as well as beautiful patisserie and Cava! Air-conditioning was fantastic, the staff could not be more friendly and helpful and the location is superb, bang in the middle of everything. Breakfast was lovely, lots of options including freshly made to order including eggs, omelette and waffles. The pool is lovely, nice and warm and a stunning view of the city and castle from up there. It is a small space that can get busy but the beach is right on your doorstep too. That being said, we had no issues getting a bed and accessing the pool. The shower in the room is the best shower in the world! Not an exaggeration, I'd go back just for that!

Wonderful - second year in a row weve stayed here, will be back again next year. The Staff are THE most friendly and helpful ever. The rooms are perfect for us, the breakfast is lovely. A really lovely hotel on the doorstep of everything, 10 min walk to the beach.

We stayed for 3 nights on a break away, staying as a couple we arrived in the early hours of Friday and stayed until the Sunday. All staff we spoke to were exceptional. The room was on the small side (and with two beds togther) I know this isn’t rare but may be worth asking for a double bed if staying as a couple. We didn’t realise breakfast was included but was glad it was, there was a good spread of food and it ran until 11 each day. A standout was the terrace and pool area, had a lovely environment a real oasis after exploring the city. Shade is at a premium on the roof and think this could be addressed by some management of towels etc-I’m sure one couple had claimed half the seats at one point! All in all and exceptional stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, location was perfect, everything was spotless and the little extras, such a preparing a bag with towel and water for the beach really made this hotel a cut above
