The Residence Maldives

Perfect honeymoon holiday despite the cloudy weather during this season (late-May). The crew even surprised us with a floral bath in the tub on our final night.

Excellence is a word often overused, but in the case of The Residence it is entirely appropriate. From our arrival into Male International Airport until we departed Koodoo on our return leg, we were treated wonderfully. The front of house team on both Islands were professional throughout. The accommodation standards were first class and the efforts of the housekeeping team were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and Raushann our housekeeper who looked after us during our time is a real credit to those standards. We can state with confidence that during our 14 night stay, we enjoyed every single meal and the standards achieved by Chef Ashish and his senior team particularly, Ajay Kumar was outstanding. On more than one The restaurant staff on both Islands were outstanding, but both Sajith from Li Bai/Long Island and Shina from Falhumaa merit a particular mention because of their excellent interpersonal skills and warm personalities – they are true ambassadors for everything that is special about the Maldives. I would also like to praise the hard working grounds and gardening team who work tirelessly to keep the resort looking beautiful – they work so hard but always find the time to offer a warm greeting to guests. As a returning guest, there is always a danger that the next trip doesn’t match the memories of the last one, but not at The Residence – it just gets better. We look forward to visiting again soon and once again thank you to your special team.

Apart from the booking team messing my 50th anniversary celebrations. The staff and the chefs weren’t brilliant. Where we stayed it was a bit quite but their sister resort was much lively. Good clean place. Love to visit again Compliments to the chef DINESH and all other chefs.

My daughter is studying marine biology at university in Perth Western Australia. This is our second holiday to this amazing resort and recommend to everyone that wants more than just a romantic honeymoon experience. We were able to snorkel twice daily and had water sports included. With an all inclusive package we didn’t have to worry about the bill for mini bar drinks at the beach or the selection of restaurants. The two islands joined by a boardwalk bridge ensured we had exercise as well as relax time. Half way was Castaway island which was also catered. I’d like to mention our fabulous staff do friendly and accommodating. Ibrahim who stocked our minibar each day and decorated our room for our birthdays. Jahed who served us several times at the sunset bar. Faiha who was our water sports coordinator. And lastly the beautiful young girl in reception that didn’t have a name badge but greeted us every morning with a smile and long braids in her hair. Would recommend this beautiful resort and it’s various amenities to anyone traveling to the Maldives.

Finishing our honeymoon in The Residence Maldives after 10 days in Sri Lanka was the best decision ever. Everything was just perfect: our water pool villa, the staff, the services, the restaurants, the activities... Thanks The Residence, we will see each other soon!
