From luxury resort to overpriced construction site

This hotel used to be one of the best in the region. Sadly, what remains today is mostly the reputation and one of the highest price tags in the area. The disappointment starts the moment you arrive. Instead of entering a peaceful luxury resort, you immediately feel like you are checking into a large-scale construction site. The courtyard and overall atmosphere make it clear that the hotel is far from operating at the standard guests would reasonably expect. Even if you try to ignore the construction, the service experience does not justify the price. The hotel is clearly too large for the number of staff available. Waiting around 45 minutes for food became normal, and housekeeping was unreliable. We would leave the room in the morning and return around 2pm, yet the room still had not been made up. To be fair, the staff and management on the ground seem to be trying their best, but goodwill cannot fix poor hotel policy. The real issue is that the hotel appears to be selling a premium experience while operating with construction disruption, serious understaffing and service policies that make the guest experience worse. The clearest example was being charged €8 just to have a plate and cutlery sent to the room. For a hotel charging some of the highest rates in the region, charging extra for such a basic request feels petty, desperate and completely out of touch with the level of hospitality guests should expect. Overall, this no longer feels like the luxury hotel it used to be. Given the construction, poor service levels, long waits, unreliable housekeeping and unreasonable extra charges, I would strongly recommend reconsidering your booking.

I rarely write positive reviews but the service at this hotel was so good it needs to be mentioned. They are next level polite and helpful. Staff at this Conrad needs to start a training program for Waldorf Astoria properties asap, as they effortlessly outshine them.

Excellent Hotel

This was my third time to stay at this hotel, twice before with my husband and this time I was with my two sisters and I cannot fault this hotel at all. It was both of my sister’s birthdays and I want to thank the staff for leaving the bottle of rose and birthday plate in the room, it was such a nice touch. The staff are unbelievable, they are so friendly and helpful they cannot do enough for you. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and I love how it has been refurbished. The food is exceptional and the service is second to none. We had a thoroughly amazing time and I will make sure to return again very soon. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable

DISAPPOINTED STAY

A correct overall experience, exceptional staff, high-end equipments and accommodations, but however we will not return to it for the following reasons, - Diamond status, and upgrade request refused at check-in - Diamond status, and location of the room at the back of the building, without a view, facing a building under construction with noise of work during all days of our stay - No relocation proposal despite our request to the person who accompanied us to the room. (We never known if the hotel was really fully booked in march) - Sunday evening meal at the OLIVEIRA BRASSERIE restaurant with live music, impossible to talk to each other or enjoy this moment so much the sound volume was high - Giving up wanting to enjoy the NEST BAR for the same reasons of noise, music and conversations at too high a volume High rates compared to a stay that wasn't exceptional at all.

Best Hotel In QDL

The Best Hotel In QDL Just Got Better, we always book directly with the Conrad and request the same room or area of Hotel and we get it. When you arrive you are welcomed by the same staff as you saw 6 months ago or a year ago which says a lot about a Hotel. The refurbished Atrium area , bar and restaurant is beautiful. We don’t dine much at the Hotel as QDL has so many nice restaurants, but when we do it’s perfect. Breakfast is always absolutely sublime in both the selection and freshness of food and service is exquisite. Twice a year at this Hotel is never enough and we are going to sneak in an extra visit in 2026
