Combining picturesque tropical accommodations with unforgettable adventure, El Pescador is both a haven and a playground off the east coast of Belize. This family-run resort enjoys a secluded location on the beach at Ambergris Caye, where each of the freestanding luxury villas - as well as all guest rooms in the gracious, colonial-style lodge - face the sea. Savor the Caribbean's distinctive flavors with fresh local cuisine at the restaurant, then head to the bar to swap the day's stories over signature rum punch. Whether you are dreaming of active pursuits, water adventures, or just relaxing in a beachfront paradise, the experienced staff at El Pescador resort will help you have the perfect Belize vacation.

My wife and I just spent a week at El Pescador Resort on Ambergris Caye. We stay at the lodge a couple of times each year and it keeps getting better with every visit. The lodge staff are fantastic. So courteous, friendly and helpful. The food is outstanding. It is one of the highlights of each visit. I have a food allergy and the lodge does a great job at providing great food alternatives. The accommodations are very nice (we stay in a villa) and I don’t feel we are sacrificing any creature comforts. I work remotely and the lodge’s internet infrastructure was recently upgraded. It’s pretty fast now. We enjoyed snorkeling at Mexico Rocks via the lodge’s new dive/snorkel outpost. It was fantastic. Highly recommended. For me, though, the fly fishing is the main draw. This is the best saltwater fishery I have ever experienced. If your goal is to chase tarpon and permit, this is the place. I landed many large tarpon and permit this week. I couldn’t have done it without an exceptional guide. We’ll be back again in November. Can’t wait.

We’ve traveled to many beautiful places over the years, and had we not experienced El Pescador, some of them might have felt truly great. But after staying here, nothing else compares. It’s the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The boys spend their days fishing while the girls lounge by the pool, enjoy massages, shop in town, visit the chocolate factory, or head to Secret Beach. There’s something for everyone — and every single detail feels effortless. Other resorts might look more luxurious on the surface, especially in other countries, but the experience at El Pescador is on a whole different level. The staff are what make it unforgettable — they all know your name, treat you like family, and go above and beyond with genuine warmth and care. Every special request is met with a smile, and the service is consistently outstanding. It’s also wonderfully casual — you can walk straight from the boat to dinner in your fishing clothes and feel completely at home. The family-style meals are intimate and absolutely delicious. I’m a picky eater, and I still look forward to every dinner. Honestly, I can’t imagine going anywhere else on the island to eat — or to stay. El Pescador is more than a resort — it’s an experience we’ll keep coming back to, again and again.

Great lodge with fishing guides that give you excellent opportunity to catch fish. Will definitely return for another trip.

Great Experience. This is an excellent fly fishing lodge. Our guide was helpful and had us on fish every day. First time for permit and tarpon and was lucky enough to get 2 Grand Slams. Staff is great Will come back. Would practice double haul as it is needed with wind

Chemistry--- I have been fortunate to travel to many destinations, fishing, lodges and resorts. It is not the "stars" or the "brands" it is the chemistry and caring of the staff that they can create within a facility that make your stay in remote places memorable. No where have I experienced this better than El Pescador. I brought my son, who is a novice fly fisherman for our first -of what will likely be many-visits. The staff and guides were wonderful to him and the resort can provide experiences for guests of all levels of angling experience. Unlike many fishing destinations-there is plenty to do here on the island for the non-angler or spouse. Snorkeling is world class, local "vibes" in town are nearby and memorable. The resort pools and other amenities are top notch. Go.

El Pescador has carved out a real niche for itself. Its combination of comfortable and gracious living in a totally relaxed, outdoor setting is unique and has a charm all its own. When asked by Steve for our suggestions about how to make it better, we were hard pressed to come up with anything substantive.
I don't know whether you embrace all of your guests as you did our little family, but we felt as though we were being welcomed into a wonderfully warm, interesting, and entertaining family that we were only too happy to be adopted by.
