Stop Searching - this is the unicorn
My stay at El Pescador Lodge was truly exceptional from start to finish. The staff made the experience unforgettable — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every detail felt thoughtful. The property was spotless, safe, and beautifully maintained, which made it easy to fully relax. The meals were a highlight on their own. Each night featured a different rotating menu, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. It felt like a culinary experience as much as an adventure getaway. Speaking of adventure — the scuba diving and fly fishing were some of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, and the access to world-class water right off Ambergris Caye made every outing unforgettable. The location is ideal — close enough to the airport for easy travel, yet far enough away to feel peaceful and secluded. You truly get the best of both worlds. If you’re considering a trip to Belize and want a place that combines comfort, adventure, incredible food, and heartfelt hospitality, this is it. I can’t recommend it enough. It was one of those trips you wish you could relive the moment you leave.

The best place to fish!
We had the absolute best time! The staff and guides are incredibly helpful and nice. The fishing was great. I would Definitely recommend you visit el pescador!

El Pescador 2026!
I was the host for a group of 13 that had never been to El Pescador before. The staff at the lodge was incredible. They took for care of us from the moment we stepped off the plane until the moment we left Belize. The fishing was amazing and the lodge staff was very accommodating. The lodge was clean and well put together. We had some travel issues on the first day and the lodge was very helpful in getting us all sorted out. Looking forward to our next trip to El Pescador 10/10 recommend.

Fantastic Trip
El Pescador Lodge is amazing. The staff, accommodations and meals are 5-star quality. The fishing was also top-notch. I'm already making plans to come back!

Fishing is probably good if the wind is not blowing. If the wind is blowing, casting is going to be challenging and fish are going to be hard to find. You might get away with bringing your family. if it's only your wife. If you bring kids, there's very little for them to do except for the pool, because there is no beach to speak of. On a brighter note, the dining staff and bar servers are wonderful, along with the food.

El Pescador has carved out a real niche for itself. Its combination of comfortable and gracious living in a totally relaxed, outdoor setting is unique and has a charm all its own. When asked by Steve for our suggestions about how to make it better, we were hard pressed to come up with anything substantive.
I don't know whether you embrace all of your guests as you did our little family, but we felt as though we were being welcomed into a wonderfully warm, interesting, and entertaining family that we were only too happy to be adopted by.
