A Fantastic Few Days at Omni Amelia Island

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We just spent the last 4 days at Omni Amelia Island for a work trip and had an incredible time. Our room and the grounds were very clean and comfortable. We loved making use of our balcony - drinking coffee outside every day and relaxing before dinner. We ate at the Surfcaster once and had their food and drinks by the pool - shout out the our server Cassie for both days. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind.

Pleasant surprise. We will be back.

We have never been to Amelia Island and we were pleasantly surprised. There are a few local beach bars up the main road and a grocery store nearby. The Omni is on a great spot on the beach - close to the ocean - and the vast pool area was perfect for relaxing. The food was excellent and prices were reasonable for a hotel resort like this. There are several restaurants on property within short walks but oddly some of the more 'casual' ones aren't open until 4 p.m.

Food has gone downhill :(

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Aw man- this was our third trip here and we were so excited. We love this place so much. Overall, we had a great time but we had three really bad meals. I’m so disappointed. The restaurants on site seem to have gone way downhill. Marche Burette is no where near the quality it used to be and the prices have gone up. The new restaurant, Nonna Mia, is very nice but two of our dishes were extremely bland. Funny enough, our server tried to warn us that those dishes weren’t very good and suggested we might add salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese. This was very odd for such an expensive restaurant. Our last night, we ate at Falcon’s Nest. They forgot to add us to the wait list so we waited for 30 min without knowing we weren’t advancing in the cue. Once we figured that out, the hostess did advance us to the front of the wait and we got a table within 15 min. Once seated, our waitress was lovely but she forgot to put in my drink order. 30 min later, the drink arrived and it was terrible. I asked for a replacement which I never received. Our chicken wings were under cooked and pink. And my burger was unappetizing. Our waitress took the burger and my drink off the bill which was very nice but it was really not a great meal. We took our kids for ice cream at Natural Slice. The self serve station was an absolute mess with toppings and melted ice cream all over the counters and floor. I cannot express how different this experience was from our past two trips! Of course, we loved the beach and the pool and the beautiful property so not a wasted trip but I would be hesitant to return given the food. I am so bummed!
