I stayed at the Andaz for a business trip. The hotel was breathtakingly beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we were well looked after with tea, coffee and cold drinks. The bed was super comfortable. There were no blinds on the windows, just voile curtains so be prepared for a lot of light very early in your room but the bathroom etc was very clean. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want some luxury as part of your stay in Amsterdam.

The rooms are beautiful, and yes the only basin is in the middle of the room not with the toilet. The breakfast options are amazing. Concierge staff very helpful and knowledgeable. The reason for my low scored review is for the female member of staff who (nearly) ruined our 3 night stay. Having enjoyed a relaxing cocktail in the bar on the Friday night we went again on the Saturday to be 'greeted' by a woman demanding our room number, which I gave her. She said they were very busy (around 6pm) and we could ONLY stand at the bar if there was room. As there were several seats free we decided to sit, just for the duration of one cocktail. At which point we were told that they were all reserved (no reserved signs) and asked us to move, leaving us perplexed. And told us we should have reserved a table. We had not been made aware at check-in that you had to reserve a table for a drink in the bar. Anyway, we ended up having a very heated discussion with the member of staff and eventually the bar manager (who we had delightfully engaged with on Friday) apologised and offered for us to have a free drink. I have never stayed in a hotel where residents were made to feel so unwelcome. The guy behind the bar is also miserable, never saw him smile - hospitality is all about making guests feel welcome! And I didn't mention this at the time but my husband's company had reserved multiple rooms that week for an event and no, they will not be coming back next year.

This is a lovely hotel. Very funky decor, extremely helpful staff in a great location for food, drink and shops.

The hotel looks amazing. You would feel like being in a fairy story from the moment you enter. There are so many beautiful objects!
