Once a nondescript public library building, overlooking the Prinsengracht (Prince’s Canal), Andaz Amsterdam has been transformed into a fantastical dream-world by Dutch architect and renowned designer Marcel Wanders. Traditional Dutch art and culture meshes with the present at every turn. Sit in the oversized tulip chairs, read the history of Amsterdam on the wallpaper, stroll through the romantic secretive garden, and take pictures in our Instagram-worthy Observatorium - where the history of Dutch seafaring is retold through light-fixture constellations and Old World maps.

Excellent location and well designed hotel. Very chic and trendy decor. We really enjoyed the included happy hour and atmosphere.

I joined a canal tour offered by the hotel Andaz, which cost over $100 for two people. I was hoping to learn more about Amsterdam’s history and the buildings along the canal. Instead, it felt more like a small party centered around wine. The captain asked us to introduce ourselves and share where we were from, apparently to get to know the participants better. As someone who prefers to travel quietly, absorbing new cultures and histories without engaging in superficial group banter, this experience was a poor fit. If you are an introvert like me, I recommend avoiding any canal tour that advertises "free wine," as it is likely to prioritize socializing over substance.

Stayed here for 3 nights following a river cruise on the Danube. Very unique decor. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. My wife said this is her new "gold standard " hotel that others will attempt to match

We booked this hotel several months in advance and their concierge service contacted us and continued to provide advice and assistance for planning our visit. had a billing issue post visit and the concierge team was responsive and helpful. the location made us feel ensconced in local Amsterdam. we booked two rooms and both rooms were clean and beautifully appointed. i even enjoyed reading the wallpaper in the toilet stall that was plastered with the history of Amsterdam the hotel restaurant food ha da options even for our picky teen and friendly staff planning our trip for next year and will book here again.

This hotel is perfection. The location is unmatched - it’s quiet and beautiful but still within a 5 minute walk to so many shops, bars, and restaurants. We splurged for a room with a terrace which was well worth it. The views were incredible. The hotel is clean, modern, vibey, and gorgeous. We will most definitely be back.
