Once a nondescript public library building, overlooking the Prinsengracht (Prince’s Canal), Andaz Amsterdam has been transformed into a fantastical dream-world by Dutch architect and renowned designer Marcel Wanders. Traditional Dutch art and culture meshes with the present at every turn. Sit in the oversized tulip chairs, read the history of Amsterdam on the wallpaper, stroll through the romantic secretive garden, and take pictures in our Instagram-worthy Observatorium - where the history of Dutch seafaring is retold through light-fixture constellations and Old World maps.

The hotel itself is beautiful. The hotel restaurant and breakfast are great. The location is perfect and you can easily walk to just about everything. My only recommendation would be to not attend the Magic Table event. For some reason, the hotel’s choice of menu for this event is subpar to say the least. the event is not hosted by the Andaz, but the food provided is. A complete waste of money.

A nice hotel. Booked a suite. The room was gorgeous. Huge soaker tub. Great shower. Bed and linens were fantastic. Perfectly situated in the heart of Amsterdam. Check-in was easy and friendly. Had a nice snack and glass of wine at the bar. Breakfast was a bit of a cluster. Took forever. Buffet wasn't stellar. The eggs weren't what I've come to expect in Europe. They weren't creamy. Almost like powdered eggs. Overall, good stay and consistent with other Andaz experiences in big cities.

This is the perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. It is a beautiful hotel. It's very family friendly. They have some adjoining rooms that we used. The breakfast buffet is excellent. The staff was very responsive and helpful in some emails before our visit.

Andaz is a terrific Amsterdam hotel for a walkable spring vacation in this fabulous city. On the Prinsengracht canal just outside the Nine Streets shopping area with lots of great coffee shops and restaurants close by. The hotel breakfast is great but at $30 for the buffet unless you’re going to eat a lot you might want to skip for a local coffee and croissant.
