Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht

Well located canal side this eclectic hotel exudes great energy and a lovely designer vibe throughout. Great room with garden view was spacious and well appointed. Thoughtful touches abound including a special genever tasting each evening from 5-6. From arrival to checkout the staff were so friendly and so professional. I’ll definitely be back.

Had a fantastic stay at the Andaz! We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly at check-in by a friendly staff member who gave a great Indonesian restaurant recommendation. We had breakfast at the restaurant as well as snack, drinks, and dinner at the hotel bar-all of which were excellent. The staff was extremely friendly throughout the hotel and helpful during our stay. The room was spacious and quite quiet as we were in the garden section of the hotel. The hotel is also located on a picturesque street on a canal away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Would highly recommend this hotel!

The Andaz is in a great location, with the canals, shops and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the quirky room decor gives the hotel a lot of personality. We stayed in a terrace room, which was a nice feature. One thing travellers should be aware of if they are not travelling solo or as a couple is the bathroom layout. The toilet is in a separate room, but you can hear everything when someone is using it. The sink and shower are in the main room with the bed. The shower has one-way glass, so you cannot see the person inside, but it is not completely private. Unfortunately, the noise from the adjoining rooms made this a very disappointing stay. The soundproofing was extremely poor and we could hear almost everything happening next door, including conversations, room service deliveries, coughing and sputtering, laughing and talking late at night, and the opening and closing of the adjoining balcony door at all hours. When guests were using the neighbouring balcony, we could hear their conversations clearly in our room. We stayed for five nights and were woken by noise from the adjoining rooms every night. I am a relatively light sleeper, but my husband is a very heavy sleeper and was also woken on at least four of the five nights. On one night, the noise continued from around 1:30am until 4am. For us, this completely outweighed the hotel's positives and is why we rated our stay as terrible. Overall, a great location with friendly staff and a fun, quirky design, but the extremely poor soundproofing made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

Great breakfast. Decorated in a fun manner. We would stay at the hotel again we are in Amsterdam again. Location was in the center of lots of activities.
