Stayed here twice with the family. Checked us in early. Gave us both rooms ahead of schedule. The concierge is fantastic, front desk very very helpful, doorman was excellent - he has been there since the last time we were there. Very boutique and clean and great bathrooms and amazing service

I’ve never written a short (good) review, and this one won’t be my first. We stayed at Hotel De L’Europe (“HDE”) for 5 nights in April, 2025. It was our first vacation in six years, to one of our favorite cities, celebrating our 25th anniversary, and our first time staying at HDE. It was nothing short of perfect and an experience we will never forget. We booked a “junior suite, river view,” but at check-in were informed that we had been upgraded: to the Royal Penthouse Suite! (Yes, these things really DO happen.) Needless to say, our “room” was beyond our wildest dreams, but it was more than just the upgrade/room: it was everything and everyone at HDE. From the lobby & common areas, to the restaurants & bars and the gym & spa, to the location, to the amazing people – 10s across the board. In fact, within a week of returning home we had already booked our next visit for July! It was that good. While everyone at HDE made us feel comfortable without any hint of pretense or snobbery, a few shout-outs must be given: to Gelle (front desk), Marylene (Brasserie Marie), Cho (concierge), Paulina (spa), and Archie (Freddy’s & Chapter 1896). And an extra special shout-out to Sander (concierge) for his spot-on recommendations and his uncanny ability (super power?!) to make us feel both ‘at home’ and ‘special’ all at the same time. Whoever is in charge of training HDE’s staff clearly knows what they’re doing because one of its greatest assets is its people. Thank you to everyone at HDE, and we will see you again in July.

It was an excellent stay! Everyone was so accommodating. A special thanks to Artur for helping us decide what to do and navigate the city. We are also very grateful that they let us stay an extra day due to a cancelled flight. Thank you to all the staff. I definitely recommend this to anyone staying in Amsterdam. It was a 5 star experience!!!

We looked into a lot of wonderful hotels in Amsterdam but something about the De L'Europe appealed to me right away. We spent our anniversary week there earlier this month and I was not disappointed. It's quite lovely and elegant and in a spectacular location by the Amstel River in easy walking distance of many great sights. (And if you do require public transport that was convenient too.) The hotel itself, in my opinion, is a work of art in many respects and a great deal of wonderful art adorns the inside. I'm getting very fussy about service and I had no complaints as I felt everyone tried very hard to please. The Concierge team was working for me even before I arrived. At my request they sent a list of recommended restaurants with not only a description of the type of food but the time it would take by walking or car to get there. With the help of Niels, who was kind enough to respond to several emails from me, all the specific dinner reservations I requested were made by the hotel for me before my trip. It made it so easy to insure reservations and I didn't have to worry once I arrived in Amsterdam. When we arrived, Artur gave us a tour of the hotel and then surprised us with an early check-in since the room, which was absolutely beautiful, was available. (We got there in the morning so I hadn't expected that. It can't always be guaranteed but obviously they did their best to meet the request.) The doorman and several other people on the Concierge team and in the restaurants even gave me Dutch lessons every day. (at my request since everyone there speaks English) I felt everyone connected to the hotel was very attentive all week and I couldn't have asked for more. We ate at two of the hotel restaurants - Marie and Trattoria Graziella - and both were excellent. The food was very good and the people working at both were very friendly and efficient. We also frequented Freddy's all week and the bartenders and waitresses could not have been more pleasant and friendly. I would highly recommend the De L'Europe. If I were to make a suggestion for something special - talk to them about a private dinner cruise on the canals which will pick you up and drop you back at the hotel. We did it for our anniversary and it was wonderful.
