Reviews for Hilton Amsterdam

Unsure if this hotel can keep guests comfortable in summer heat.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Currently staying here and not off to a good start. It was 98 degrees ferenheit today. We could not get the room to cool down so we called the front desk. They told us the AC was broken and they would work overnight to fix it. No one told us of this issue when we checked in. I reached out again a few hours later and a different staff member told me it was the best they could do. I’m not sure if the AC is actually broken anymore or if this hotel is aging and can’t keep up with summer temperatures for guests. Will update my review as my stay progresses but so far I would think twice about staying here in the summers.

A great base for visiting Amsterdam

We booked our stay in Amsterdam here with a bit of trepidation, as the hotel south of the city center. Our concerns melted away. It is located in a nice, quiet, leafy area with easy access to the city (should one want to do that). A 5 minute walk gets you to the tram station which takes you downtown, or connects to other areas of Amsterdam. Since Amsterdam is a walking (and biking) city, we didn't always take the tram but enjoyed walking the canals. We did use the tram to Central Station to board a train for Harlem for a day trip to the beach at Zandvoort (highly recommend). If you do, consider getting bikes at Corner Bikes, a short walk from the station.

Wonderful Hotel outside the center of the city center

This hotel was lovely! It is a bit outside of the main part of the city, but it’s a short walk. It’s also close to the Vondelpark. It was also a close walk to the train station to catch our flight. The staff are wonderful as well. Housekeeping cleaned our rooms daily and updated our towels. We did eat at the restaurant downstairs for dinner the first night. The food was really slow coming out, but the service and food were great. We also had breakfast every morning. The breakfast buffet was delicious and highly recommend it!

A lovely experience

This is a top hotel, in a lovely quiet location. Our stay was delightful in every way. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful; the bedrooms were well appointed and very comfortable; and the food was first-class. The Executive Lounge is a little modest, but unavoidably constrained by its position on the roof level. Overall though I would recommend this Hilton without hesitation..

Bar Manager: Gaitano

Sometimes things don't go right in the hotel, this is hospitality..at that point, the most important thingv would be your reaction to provide service recovery..this is where we have in Hilton Amsterdam..had a little issue with a food, bar supervisor Gaitano stepped in and took an ownership, listened, reacted and sorted..on top of that he remembered us at the end of the night when we are back from outside and offered comp drinks..for me, who works in the same industry, these are the most important things, all done and dusted..Gaitano, thank you for your hospitality and care. people like you makes the difference in the hotel industry..attention to detail
