Discover the Hilton Amsterdam hotel, famous for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's 1969 ‘bed-in for peace' and Hilton's first hotel in the Netherlands. This iconic hotel was famously built on the baseline of Plan Zuid, a district designed by prominent architect Berlage, which highlights the Amsterdam School of architecture and contains boutiques, designer shops and couture houses, in addition to being within walking distance of world-renowned Museum Square.

I stayed two evenings just before the hotel closed for renovations on the 23November. I believe it will reopen in 2027 or 2028. I enjoyed the stay and it seemed quite nice overall even though it is about to undergo a major renovation. I had lounge access which was alright, food options were limited for evening, but the breakfast was great in the main breakfast / restaurant. The gym was large but is not owned by the hotel so you had to navigate some logistics if you wanted access when the gym was no longer open (closed early afternoon weekends). The hvac system in the room didnt work properly but the hotel got me in room heater and a fan. Windows could open but I had to get them unlocked by maintenance. There was a bit of drama at check out , I had requested a late check out which was granted to two pm (I got this in at check in), but at 1230 the staff started harassing me to get out in spite of my late check out and the keying of my key card in the system. I was given ten minutes to clear out and the situation was really unpleasant. I voiced my concern at check out and the GM made things right by me and apologized. It was a very unusual circumstance but in the end it was handled well. I hope to come back when the hotel reopens!

We spent our engagement in the John Lennon/Yoko Ono Suite. Anna took such good care of us and made our visit truly special!

Hilton Amsterdam surprised us. The warmth & sincerity from the staff shone through the little touches. Special thanks to Nico who greeted us on our first day after a long haul 14hr flight with a big smile, chatting with us to make us feel welcome. We were astonished he could recognise we are from Singapore without us telling him! See you in Pasir Ris next time ^^. Big shoutout to front desk staff for getting our family room ready earlier upon noticing our weariness. Thanks also to Anna who handled our checkout & upon finding out we are headed to Iceland, showed us her itinerary. We have been touched by the kindness received at Hilton. The family room was perfect for our teens & us. Good size & clean. Not many hotels have connecting rooms this size! We understand the hotel is closing for a 2 year renovation on 23 Nov. Hope to be back when it reopens. Thank you for the warm welcome to Amsterdam!

We saw Elana at breakfast almost every morning we were there. She was extremely pleasant, warm and even remembered each of our specific omelette orders and drink orders each and every morning with a warm and pleasant smile. She was a wonderful start to our day. We very much hope to see her again at Hilton Amsterdam when you reopen in 3 years after the renovation.

We were a family of 4, two adults and our two daughters. We had two rooms with connecting doors which was absolutely perfect for us. So hard to find hotels who can accommodate families with children that are beyond travel cots or bunk beds. The hotel is located in a lovely area, quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle. The staff were so friendly, particularly the door man whose name I can't recall but he has been there over 30 years. So helpful advising us of the quickest route to the airport by bus, what a revelation that was, so easy !! Breakfast was superb and the waiter we had in the area beyond where the breads are located was amazing, I"m afraid again I didn't catch his name. Cannot sing the praises of the hotel more, spotlessly clean and everything you expect from a Hilton. I understand they are closing for 2 years for a full refurb which is sad for the staff and I hope they all manage to find employment.
