Hotel Okura Amsterdam

Food poisoning with the oysters served in this hotel. Staff did not care that I was so ill for 2 days. I hadn’t eaten anywhere else except in this hotel

Hotel Okura is clean, comfortable, and very professionally managed. The visit of the Emperor of Japan during our stay did not interfere with the service we received. The hotel also provided a fine canal tour. The Serra restaurant, where we dined twice, is first-rate, with friendly service, exquisite meals, and a fine view of the canal. The location is quiet and picturesque. It is not in the center of the city, but one can easily walk to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and other attractions.

We had an excellent two night stay at Hotel Okura. The service is exceptional. We want to particularly thank Ashraf and Ezra for looking out for us-but really all of the staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable. The bed was great and the bathroom was well appointed and very clean. It was a great perk to have access to the lounge on the 22nd floor. We used it to get drinks and relax, but one could use it for a late breakfast and late afternoon snack as well. We really liked location of this hotel. Although it is about 20 minutes leisurely walk from the museum area and other main sites, it was well worth it to be in a quiet area and a peaceful oasis. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

From Louis at the front desk to all of the staff this is a fantastic hotel. It’s a great location, the rooms are spacious and well equipped, and the Panorama Lounge was excellent place to relax.
