Three beautiful days at Okura

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

This was such an incredible experience at Okura Restaurant Amsterdam. I visited with my boyfriend, and from the beautiful views to the calm and romantic atmosphere, everything was simply amazing. We had a wonderful three-day stay and truly enjoyed every moment of our time there.

Delightful Okura Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed here during the first night of our honeymoon, and the stay was delightful & exceptional. The room was spacious, the shower was a lovely experience, and the very efficient air conditioning was incredible to have during the heat wave Europe is experiencing. The breakfast buffet was possibly the most tasty and satisfying breakfast we have ever had during a hotel stay, every option at the breakfast was of the highest quality. We will be back one day!

Disorganized and Poor Customer Service!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Poor customer service! My husband and I arrived at the hotel at 8am from the airport. We were with viking river cruise and we were the first couple arrived at the hotel. We understand that the check in time usually in the afternoon as they have to wait for the guests to check out to clean the room before they can make the room available. We patiently waited at the lobby for 6 hours. However, when the rooms was finally ready, they gave the rooms to two other couples who just arrived. Those couples also with viking river cruise. It should be first come first served. This is unacceptable!!! I will not recommend this hotel.

Kitchen of Serre restaurant closes at 8:30pm !!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Okura is a very nice hotel with beautiful rooms, a nice swimming pool and spa and excellent food. They have 4 restaurants, including a Michelin starred and 2 gourmet (and extremely expensive) Japanese restaurant and one excellent more casual restaurant (still above 50€/person minimum) called Serre. I am currently staying at the hotel and wanted to have dinner at Serre tonight. I just found out that kitchen closes at 8:30pm !!!!!! I know this is Amsterdam and that people have very early dinners. But for a 5 star luxury hotel, catering to international clients and charging close to 500 euros/night for a room, this is unbelievable and unacceptable. I sincerely hope this will be corrected. It is a real pity that such a nice place spoils the experience with this type of bad mistakes. For the rest - and if you are an early eater - it is still a place I would recommend.
