On the edge of the 17th Century Prinsengracht, the famed Dutch canal system UNESCO honors on its World Heritage List, Hotel Seven one Seven began as the home of a wealthy sugar trader. The rear house became a sugar mill, and in 1810 the trader built a voorhuis, or front house, that now welcomes guests to its nine cozy suites named after artists, composers and literary figures – sink into the deep blue elegance of the Von Goethe suite or gaze out over the Prinsengracht from the lofty Picasso suite.

From start to finish our stay was amazing. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, we were greeted with friendly smiles, welcome drinks.. Every single member of the team went out of their way to make us feel special The hotel was spotless, perfectly located for exploring Amsterdam. The staff gave us great local recommendations, which made our trip even more memorable. Breakfast each was so nice, with plenty choice and attention to detail. The little touches made all the difference the turn-down service each night, umbrellas by the door even the way the team held our luggage all day after checkout so we could make the most of our last day. The rooms were gorgeous stylish, comfortable, and incredibly clean As a group of six, this was the most enjoyable part of our break without a doubt the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. It’s one to remember! we will definitely be coming back soon - Thank you!!

Horrible treatment by the Hotel. We made and confirmed reservation 4 months in advance (even via email), the hotel got the dates wrong, cancelled our ENTIRE 4 day reservation as rooms weren't available for one night, didn't call to see how else they could help us and charged us 2K anyway, which we now have to spend time fighting. The place looks pretty but we NEVER saw it.

My sister and I just spent three wonderful days in Amsterdam, and staying at the Hotel 717 made it even better. The hotel is in a great location overlooking the Prinsengracht canal, within easy walking distance of the major museums, some fun shopping areas, and great restaurants (try Little Bonfire, it's excellent). The staff was phenomenal, greeting us warmly when we arrived, offering a welcome drink and advice on things to do during our stay. Our room, accessed through a charming hidden courtyard, was beautifully designed, with a luxurious marble bathroom. We had breakfast in the cozy dining room on our final morning - an assortment of pastries, quiche, fruit, and coffee - the perfect option for a rainy morning. I highly recommend the hotel! *The only caveat is the lack of accessibility - it's a historic building with no elevator and steep stairs.

Wow. This is just a beautiful hotel. When we arrived and exited the taxi we was warmly greeted by the lovely staff who made us feel most welcome and assisted us with our luggage. Our friends who were already in Amsterdam came over and we were offered a lovely welcome drink of our choice. The room we are staying in is room 1. All I can say is WOW. Overlooking the canal it’s spacious, stylish and just beautiful. The standards are so high. The team that work here are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I would most definitely use hotel 717 again and would recommend it. The location is perfect and within walking distance to all the main areas and attractions. I have travelled extensively and this hotel is definitely one of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure to stay in.

The staff are excellent. That’s where the excellence ends. People were raving about the breakfast. It was a fancy continental breakfast and the same everyday. Not worth buying it. Lots of cafes and booths around to grab something to eat. Location was good if you wanted to be in the canals area. If you want to be close to the train station, not ideal as it’s 27 min walk or a 13 min tram ride, so location is reason specific. The room was TINY. To y TV and very little room to move around especially with bags in the floor. The worst part, and what they don’t describe at all, is the amount of stairs. If you can’t do stairs, dont come here. Very narrow and steep to the breakfast area and 4 flights up to the room. .(depending on what room) You dreaded coming back after waking all day because of the stairs. Because the room was so small the toilet and shower were in different locations. So you went to the toilet but then had to go to the other Sue’s to wash your hands. Just inconvenient. So many hotels in the area and in Amsterdam in general. I wouldn’t return to this property.
