The 5-star NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is on Amsterdam’s main square with views spanning to the Royal Palace. The hotel building dates back to 1855 and is located near some of the city’s most finest of shops, tourist attractions and just a 15-minute tram ride to the Museum Quarter. 5* ++! Arguably the best hotel in the city! The beautiful rooms, fantastic staff and the phenomenal breakfast buffet are just a few of the standout features at this hotel.

Great hotel and staff
I had an overnight stay at this hotel and it fulfilled my expectations. The staff was very kind, this is what made our stay even nicer. I loved the cocktails at Bar Tailor.

Excellent service and great location
Location was perfect - right at the heart of Dam Square. The rooms were spacious and clean, amenities were good. The buffet breakfast was excellent! Selection was superb and service was amazing! Shout out to the warm and welcoming smiles of Jocelyn, Maureen, Marilyn, Aida and Edna!

Large hotel, not really 5 star????
Service for the most part excellent, and a very smart lobby, but outside of that I don’t rate this as a 5 star hotel. Moved from a dingy and noisy second floor room (thank you to the excellent gentleman on reception who listened to my concerns and got an okay to move me) to a brighter room on the 5th. After dark the room was still dark however. Bath rooms are described as deluxe: hand held shower only I don’t call deluxe. Wood trim on the bathroom wall looks good, but it’s not 5 star, and it’s small. Breakfast was a a bit like being in a giant self service cafeteria: glaring light, rather basically laid out tables. The through put is huge, and the buffet seems to be more about quantity than anything else. Some irritating aspects - a pump for the yogurt?? Coffee was never actually hot. Several other reviews mention the doormen - over the course of a 2 night stay, they all managed to look right through me. Not one greeting. Location doesn’t strike me as great - aspects of Dam Square and the surroundings streets are really not great. There are more attractive places to stay for this price.
