The 5-star NH Collection Amsterdam Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky is on Amsterdam’s main square with views spanning to the Royal Palace. The hotel building dates back to 1855 and is located near some of the city’s most finest of shops, tourist attractions and just a 15-minute tram ride to the Museum Quarter. Fantastic Location and beautiful facility. Very well looked after, maintained and the staff are great. On site restaurants were of the highest quality.

The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the hotel, from the beautifully maintained rooms to the thoughtful touches throughout. It is in a great location to walk to boat tours, museums, Anne Frank house and overlook Dam Square. The breakfast hall is outstanding with every imaginable delicious food items. What truly stands out is the outstanding customer service—warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making every moment seamless and enjoyable. We arrived on Easter Sunday, very easy 10 minute walk from Central Station. We had a small problem with our air conditioning and the duty manager Mr. Weegh was timely and thoughtful handling a seamless move and transfer of our belongings to an upgraded room for the inconvenience. Entire staff from front desk, restaurants, to housekeeping are outstanding.

Dissappointing experience

I stayed at Anantara Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky Amsterdam for the first time during a solo trip. While the experience started off well, the handling of my payment and follow-up has been very disappointing. Upon check-in, I paid for my stay using a regular maestro ING card (not a credit card), which included both the amount and the deposit. The payment machine had issues that day, but the transaction did go through. The staff member assisting me even copied the transaction number directly from my bank confirmation. At check-out, I was told there were no further actions needed, although there was still a remaining balance that needed to be refunded to me. The male staff member assisting me seemed unsure, which already gave me some concern. Since then, I have tried multiple times to contact the hotel regarding the outstanding amount. It’s not a large sum, but that’s not the point. My last message has been completely ignored, and I have still not received my refund. I also pointed out that the receipt I received does not match the transaction number on my bank statement, which raises further concern. As a Titanium member, I am not used to this level of service or lack of follow-up. It’s especially disappointing that such a well-known hotel fails to properly handle something as basic as a payment discrepancy and customer communication. Didn’t meet expectations at this price point

This is a mixed review as there were some highlights, but many low lights, especially for this price. Highlights: * Staff was very warm, friendly, and helpful * Spa massage was incredible * Rooms were modern and updated * The bar is beautiful Lowlights: * Breakfast is horrible, don’t pay for it * The building itself feels like a bunch of random properties stitched together - ask for your room to be with others if your traveling with a group, else you’ll walk 15 min inside to find them * The location is like Times Square, pretty packed and dirty * The spa smelled like sewage * The housekeeping team was heard yelling the eff word as I was checking into my room - not super professional If I had to do it over again, I would not book this property at this price range.
