Pulitzer Amsterdam

stayed at the Pulitzer in Amsterdam with my wife for a long weekend hot weekend in August. Our stay got off to a fantastic start . When we arrived we were upgraded to a quite stunning and spacious canal view suite and we were welcomed to the room with a bottle of chilled prosecco and delicious Dutch chocolates. The room is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with very good amenities. We enjoyed spending time just sitting on a comfortable sofa facing the canal , sipping our prosecco and watching the boat activity on the water. The hotel itself is spread out as it has combined a number of canal houses which gives it a unique and delightful character. It is also brilliantly positioned for all the best sights and activities in a lovely canal neighbourhood. We walked everywhere and did not use any taxis. Breakfast is served in a beautiful room ( Jansz Restaurant) facing the canal and breakfast itself is a high quality combination of a la carte and buffet. I am not normally that bothered about pastries but these were exceptional , Both the pastries and the French toast are a must eat! We also had dinner at Jansz Restaurant and it was the easily the best meal we had during our stay. The quality of the food served at breakfast and dinner was matched by the quality of the service. In this respect a special mention is merited for Ioanna and Lars who set the highest of bars for guest service although I must say all the staff in the restaurant provided friendly, efficient, and helpful service without exception. On reception I must also mention Camilla who provided outstanding support. A true test for the level of service offered by a hotel is how they respond to any issues that arise. We had a very small malfunction issue with the TV in our room and by way of apology the same bottle of wine that we had ordered in the restaurant was delivered to our room. Such a thoughtful and generous way to deal with such a small issue and a real testament to the service levels of the hotel and the management policy of the hotel. We have been to Amsterdam on numerous occasions and stayed in some excellent hotels but would we return to the Pulitzer? The answer is a resounding yes, in a heartbeat!

I have stayed here twice now. Excellent location and a fun, boutique hotel. It's a couple of old buildings put together, so the entire place is a maze. However, from the last visit (in 2017) to this visit, I feel like the hotel has gotten worn down. Everything is very dark (dark colored carpet, black walls). It could use a refurbishment!

I still think about this hotel a lot. Such unique charme and beauty, amazing view that you cannot get enough of, superb location. Very friendly staff as well.

Loved this hotel. So unique and quirky - we even had a bike suspended in our room. We found the staff very friendly and helpful especially Camilla; Adonnah and Patric. The breakfast was great with plenty of variety and a great fresh fruit selection served in a lovely room looking out to the street. The little extras in our room were such a nice touch from a bike repair kit to a lovely bag and a little surprise at checkout! Very thoughtful. The hotel is well located to all the sights - just right beside the water. Would not hesitate to recommend a stay at this hotel.

I had a two days stay a Pulitzer Amsterdam with my boyfriend. I loved how the hotel gives historic modern luxury vibes, the exact environment I and my boyfriend wanted to feel. I love how they are so welcoming and hospital for one to feel very confortable.
