What a divine hotel. I miss my beautiful afternoons sitting by the window in my gorgeous room looking out over Amsterdam. Everything was like a fairytale.

A gorgeous property with fantastic service. The location is great as it is walking distance from many sites. The property is luxurious and historic. The rooms are absolutely lovely and clean. The service is also fabulous and the staff goes out of their way to make your experience as incredible and easy as possible. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful time at this amazing hotel in the perfect location and enjoyed hospitality of the highest level from Stefan and the entire team. We had the pleasure of experiencing the hotel tour with the lovely Robin from guest relations, who was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The breakfast is a wonderful way to start your day with a fabulous buffet and the à la carte menu served by friendly and professional staff. The Prestige Suite with canal views was well appointed with a lovely bathroom and super comfy bed. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Robin delivered to the suite the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, an amazing cake with a bottle of bubbles, this was a lovely surprise and well appreciated. Jonathan the concierge was a superstar he managed to acquire two tickets to the Anne Frank museum, which was a lovely experience during our stay. All the meals and drinks we enjoyed were well presented and to a very high standard. We thoroughly recommend this hotel for couples, families and groups, do not hesitate to book, you will have a fantastic time. Heart felt thank you to Stefan and his team.

**★★★★☆ Elegant Hotel, Great Service, Rooms Slightly Tired** We stayed in a large canal suite at the Sofitel Legend in Amsterdam and overall had a great experience, thanks largely to the service. Having a butler was a real convenience — attentive and genuinely helpful throughout the stay. The location is fantastic — tucked along a quiet, picturesque canal in the heart of the old city center, just steps from Dam Square, yet away from the busiest tourist crowds. Everything worth seeing is within easy walking distance, and the surrounding streets are beautiful to wander. The hotel itself is beautiful, with public areas in good condition and that classic, elegant feel you'd expect from the Sofitel Legend name. The room was clean but a little tired compared to the grandeur of the public spaces — nothing wrong, just not quite as polished. One odd layout quirk: the toilet is in a separate room from the main bathroom, and the shower itself was on the small side. The suite did come with a handy little kitchen — fridge, small stove, and a microwave/oven combo — which was a nice bonus. Breakfast was priced at €55, which felt steep, so most days we skipped it — either using the kitchen or grabbing a quick bite outside instead. Overall a beautiful hotel with standout service, though it comes at a premium price and the rooms don't fully match the elegance of the public areas.
