Beautiful hotel, I love when a hotel takes maintenance seriously, everything is at great conditions. The beds are super comfortable and I really like the overall decor of the hotel and the rooms. Food/beverages at the bars and restaurants are very good. The staff is super friendly, Mar at front desk is great! She made us feel welcome right from the start. I was worried about staying at a hotel so close to the city center and red light district, but the hotel is very quiet and you can really rest.

Visited here last evening for a business event and honestly… if all “work” nights were like this, productivity worldwide would skyrocket. The hotel itself is fabulous, the food was top class and the service was spot-on from start to finish. Friendly, professional, and somehow always there exactly when you needed them — hospitality ninja skills. If this is how they treat business guests, I can only imagine how good a proper stay would be. Keep doing what you’re doing — you’ve nailed it. I’ll definitely be back (with or without a business excuse).

What a lovely stay! Thank you. The service was impeccable. Rooms were very well appointed. Bed was extremely comfortable. Had the pleasure of ordering some room service...arrived promptly and was delicious. Concierge were extremely knowledgeable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful building in the center of Amsterdam. Everything is within walking distance. The location is perfect. Beyond that, it is absolutely not up to Sofitel standards. The rooms are dated, the carpets are stained, and the bathroom has only one sink made of a kind of molded plastic that feels very low quality. The fridge motor is noisy. In addition, our room was not cleaned on January 17. It was only attended to at 6:30 p.m. after two reminders at reception—and when I say “cleaned,” only the towels were changed. The carpet was not vacuumed, the trash was not emptied, and the bed was carelessly made, without pulling the fitted sheet or fluffing the pillows. In short, the hotel has clear management and quality control issues. No commercial gesture was offered. Not even an apology at checkout. So I would advise you to stay away. It is expensive for what it is.

I rarely am impressed enough to write reviews, but this hotel has been the most amazing stay of my life. I happened to be alone this winter for my birthday and Christmas, and this was my first visit to Amsterdam. As an Accor Platinum, I got upgraded to a Junior Suite and tears literally filled my eyes when I saw the room and felt the most comfortable bed in existence!! Two windows show gorgeous views on the city and canal side. The staff made me feel at home from the first "Bonjour", and any requests were fulfilled quickly and with care. Location is great, I never needed a taxi or public transportation, very walkable! Also the hotel is incredibly safe with a solid gated entrance and round the clock security (and everyone knows your name by the second day :) I know how lucky I am to have had my first experience in this city in such a magnificent hotel, it will always hold a place in my heart and I wish so much to come back again one day soon.

The Sofitel Grand was an ok property. Upon check, I asked about an upgrade, if available, (per your website), they said they gave me an upgrade to a canal view. A very small dark room. Not at all what I expected, a true disappointment!
