Tivoli Doelen Amsterdam

The location is the best location in Amsterdam. It’s the only part of Amsterdam I would wish to stay. It was my first time in this hotel but I’ve been to Amsterdam many many times. The room was nice but it was really the staff and the breakfast that stood out. Really excellent

The Tivoli Doelen is a well located boutique hotel in Central Amsterdam. The staff of this hotel are all friendly and ready to do what it takes to make your stay special. From the bellman to the guest relations staff and the restaurant staff, you were always made to feel special.

We were very excited to have a very special balcony room on the canal as the culmination of our stay in the Netherlands. The room rate was about twice as much as we had paid in the rest of the country We called ahead to request an upper floor, if possible. We arrived and were told that only one canal view room was left, but that it was first floor and would not be available until 5pm. We had booked a tour at 6, and needed some rest, so we opted for an upper floor balcony with a peakaboo canal view. It had an almost negligible price change, which they provided in credit. We rested a bit and went off to our tour. That evening, our room was warm. We called down to front desk and they suggested to turn down thermostat and that it would cool. We didn’t sleep well and told management the next morning. They investigated that day and then put a portable unit in our room, which solved the temperature problem, but blocked the balcony and was loud. After that point, we didn’t use the balcony anymore and told management a few times about the noise and inconvenience, but they didn’t compensate us or offer us any other solutions. On the plus side, the breakfast was lovely and the cleaning staff super attentive! We did have dinner in the restaurant one night and the food/wine was good

Hotel exceeded my expectations, very clean, modern bathroom. Even though the room was smaller than usual, we were only there for sleep. The breakfast was exquisite, tasty and fresh. The beds were comfy and I rested well. SANDER the welcoming HOST for breakfast, made everyone feel extra special during our stay. We plan to return very soon!

From the moment we checked-in, this property was amazing. After some travel it was nice to be greeted with a few coffees as we were given details of the property. Breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant featuring both a buffet and an à la carte menu. The buffet itself wasn’t very large, but the items were fresh and the staff was very friendly. Rooms are modern featuring Nespresso machines and all the toiletries you might need. We booked through Amex and used our credit on room service, which was tasty. Service was impeccable and upon requesting more coffee and water they were brought up almost immediately. My only critique, if you could even call it that, was the limited room service menu. The “all day” section has only four items, and the dinner menu itself isn’t very expensive. It is a smaller hotel so I understand there’s obviously constraints.
