The hotel is fine. It feels more of a historical visit and a view of the state's business state, than a resort or a vacation hotel. It has 3 towers with rooms and many conference/meeting rooms, as well as a few restaurants/bars. It is walking distance to many of site restaurants and bars, as well as the Anchorage conference center and downtown. There are gyms in the building (one for men and one fro women, based on door labels - never checked them) Check in was fine, but front desk was not friendly any time that I interacted with them. Room was spacious and clean. It had the usual offered: TV, refrigerator, microwave, seating area, desk. The advantage of being high enough and facing west, I was able to see the sunset. The WiFi was horrible - never working and I end up using my mobile hot-spot. There are city parking all around, so easy to park a car. For the room price and the quality of the room/service, I will not stay there again if I can avoid it.

We stayed here with Princess cruises, and despite our rooms connecting on the cruise ship, we were placed on different floors here. Aesthetically, the rooms looked nice enough. However, our toilet/shower/sink was leaking for the duration of our stay. We had to line the floor with towels, which kind of took away from our experience. The location was fine, as was the noise level and overall atmosphere. We just didn't have a great stay.

I am so very thankful for the staff at Captain Cook. Amos, the concierge, was phenomenal. The front desk, the bellhops, the maintenance, and doorman; I cannot emphasize how wonderful the staff was during my stay. I was in town during a very stressful and emotional time in my life for the two and half weeks they made me feel welcome and made sure my every need was met. I may have stayed at nicer hotels, and eaten at finer restaurants but none of that mattered because this hotel's staff was exemplary! I highly recommend this as the place to stay due to the staff interaction, politeness, and attention.

We stayed here 2 nights. On the first night of our time in Alaska and also on the second night. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful. The driveway staff was extremely helpful. Not a cheap hotel but very nice and good resturants plus the location is great.

The hotel was okay. It’s large and there are many food options. It’s also in a convenient location with many shops and restaurants nearby. Check in was quick and the front desk was friendly. Our room seemed old and dark and some modernizing would do it wonders. It was fairly large and roomy though. The wifi had issues or was slow throughout our 3 nights there.
