The hotel is centrally located (actually on Main Street). Several restaurants in hotel and we ate dinner at Crows Nest which was great. Views of the area are great and meal was delicious. Our room had a recently renovated bathroom and was very nice. Recommend it as a place to stay

The hotel is in a good location. Easy walk to restaurants and gift shops. There is even a nice neighborhood playground nearby. The staff was very courteous. However I am giving the hotel a 3 because of the elevator. When we left for dinner we were told the elevators are not working. We carried a 2 year old and a stroller down 15 flights of stairs. When we came back from dinner the elevators were working. Our 2 year old fell asleep. When we were getting ready for bed we heard what sounded like someone dragging a suitcase across the room. We thought they were taking luggage to rooms. We went to bed and realized we were next to the elevators. The noise continued throughout the night. It was too late to complain since our 2 year old was asleep. I wore earplugs but the noise was so loud it still kept me awake. When we complained the next day we were told we have to talk to Princess. Princess said they received other complaints about the elevator. If you do stay at the hotel, make sure you do not get a room by the elevator!

The hotel is beautiful , but is really showing her "age" It seemed clean and the staff, esp in the dining areas were great.

Outstanding hotel. As part of Holland America Cruise/Tour we stayed at Hotel Captain Cook one night. Wish we could have stayed there for 2 nights to take advantage of what Anchorage has to offer.

Do not stay in Room 1046 in Tower II if you value hot showers and acceptable standards of personal hygiene. We arrived on Tuesday night 6-17-25. We were booked here by Princess Cruises for an Alaskan tour starting Thursday morning. For Wednesday, we reserved a rental car for daytime use only and were on a strict schedule. That Wednesday morning, my wife took her shower and our son took his. At 8:30 am I was entering the shower and found NO HOT WATER. After giving it a chance to warm up, I called the front desk. The hotel rep learned I was booked through Princess and seem completely uncaring. Because of our schedule to pick up the rental car, I did not have the luxury and getting dressed to take a shower in an unoccupied hotel room. She offered to send someone "up" from "maintenance" but we had no time to spare. That evening, AGAIN there was not hot water. I spoke to a male at the front desk who promised to send someone from "engineering". NO ONE ever appeared. The following morning our son had to go down to the gym for a hot shower. This is completely unacceptable.
