La Zambra Resort, part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection, is a five-star Andalusian retreat infused with the vibrant spirit of flamenco. The resort captivates with its warm, sun-kissed design, evoking a boutique-style atmosphere despite its grandeur. Featuring the largest spa on the Costa del Sol, a yoga patio, 24-hour fitness facilities, and access to two world-renowned golf courses, you can indulge in endless luxury. The hotel also boasts three sparkling pools—including family-friendly and adult-only options—and four exceptional dining experiences. Tailored for couples, friends, and families, La Zambra Resort offers something for everyone.
Nestled in the heart of the Andalusian hills, La Zambra Resort is a serene getaway located between Málaga and Marbella, just 30 km from the airport. A short 10km drive takes you to the charming, whitewashed village of Mijas Pueblo, where narrow streets and sweeping views await. The beautifully restored Sohail Castle is only 5 km away. There are plenty of day trip options as well. Glamorous Marbella, with the Sierra Blanca mountains as its backdrop, is just 30 km along the coast, while culturally rich Málaga lies in the opposite direction. For the adventurous, Granada and Seville, connected by train, offer iconic explorations.

The last hotel of 9, the finish of our roadtrip. We definitely kept the best for last. This is it, it doesn't get any better. From the valetparking to the buildings, to the staff, to the room, really everything was perfect. Ofcourse it is more expensive but it is worth every euro. The staff are so polite, friendly and helpful. The decoration of the room is so beautiful. The view from the pool over the golfcourse is amazing. The food is fantastic. Carmen was our favorite staff member . If we still can afford it we will be back.

La Zambra could be a great property but consistently falls short in small ways. As I often stay at “luxury” properties, I have good grounds for comparison. Here are just a few examples: — The pool is not maintained well and something like algae is growing on the walls. — The fitness center lacks foam rollers, good floor mats, exercise bands, and other inexpensive items that would greatly improve the experience. — The rooms lack any artwork on the walls. Maybe it’s the style, but when you have a suite and all the walls are blank white, without even accent colors, it feels cold. — At the restaurant bar one night we ordered a glass of wine, and the server never returned to see if we needed anything else over the course of a couple of hours. The bar was almost empty. — At the spa, reception was ineffective in offering info on our upcoming treatments (where to change, where to wait, etc.). The locker rooms were small and didn’t have any grooming amenities. The rooms with the pools were very hot and humid. Some in our party were offered a choice of oils for the massage, others were not. The massages themselves were very good! — Turndown service was uninspired and inconsistent. Sometimes water and towels refreshed, sometimes not. No little chocolates or other nicety so commonly left at luxury resorts. — Rented tennis equipment and were given dead balls. Perhaps all little things, but when you add them up the property just misses expectations. On the positive side, the outdoor areas are lovely and there were plenty of lounges. The breakfast buffet was good and the valet service prompt.

We stayed at La Zambra to celebrate my partner's birthday, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. I had arranged with the hotel to organise a birthday cake, balloons in the room, and a round of golf for my partner. The team handled everything effortlessly! Our room was beautiful, the balcony was lovely overlooking the pools and golf course. The food throughout our stay was excellent, with plenty of choice and consistently high quality. Service was also very good across the hotel, with staff who were friendly, attentive, and professional without ever being intrusive. One of our favourite parts of the stay was spending the evening at Bamboleo. Sunset drinks there are an absolute must. The setting is stunning, the atmosphere is relaxed and stylish, and it's the perfect place to end the day while watching the sun go down! We'd happily return and would highly recommend it!

Hotel is lovely, but make sure you are not allocated a room over the function room when there is a late evening event (wedding) on ! Poor room allocation by the hotel
