Surrounded by the captivating grandeur of the Swiss Alps, towering above the Andermatt Valley, The Chedi Andermatt combines alpine serenity with the timeless elegance of a luxury ski holiday. As the first Swiss property belonging to the GHM collection, classic and contemporary come together at The Chedi Andermatt in every detail; from superlative service to world-class dining. Warm wooden details and natural stone create intimate, yet visually striking interiors from the sleek lobby to the lavish accommodations. Drawing inspiration in part from the Asia-based GHM brand, the sprawling complex features 102 well-appointed guestrooms and suites with unique alpine touches. Bold textures and colors create sultry atmospheres where dark wood floors contrast with supple leather chairs and plush, over-sized bedding. Heated stone floors lead the way to pristine bathrooms where you may linger aprés-ski in the deep soaking tubs, or bask under the waterfall from the sumptuous rain shower. The crisp mountain air envelops you on the outside terrace as the breathtaking panoramic views offer a glimpse of the luxury that awaits both in and out of The Chedi Andermatt.

I stayed here 3 nights, a couple of days ago. I have a list of 5 star hotels that I wanna visit (it's a hobby, although an expensive one ;-) ), and this was on it, so I came here just to expericience the hotel. Rooms: I was in room 1503. Although I booked a standard room, the room is huge ànd gorgeous. I love the warm wood, the balcony, the bathroom, the huge shower... I love the 'chalet style' design, simply because it fits here. Breakfast: very very very good! Restaurant: had dinner in the main restaurant twice. Loved the multi course menu. Was very good. Restaurant The Japanese: had dinner here on my third night. Is was very calm, only 5 guests. But service was impeccable. Maybe the courses were given a bit too fast: I entered at 19.30 and was finished at 21.30. I rather would have 'made an evening out of it'. I had some delicious champagne, and then (as i don't drink much alcohol) I had the tea pairing. Was very cool! Loved it. Wellness: well.... this is gonna be a bit more difficult. Let me first say: I love the swimmingpool, the gym, ... it all looks amazing. But then there is the wellness area itself: the sauna's, steamrooms, jacuzzi's,... All look amazing! But I was amazed that most people wear swimwear. We are in the European region (ok, Switzerland is not Europe but you know what I mean), and here we don't wear clothing in a sauna! I checked with reception, and it was perfectly fine to ditch the swimwear in this (16+) area. But: in reality the mix between clothed people and nude people does not work. Although I covered my private parts in the sauna with a towel (as I always do) I got a rude comment from another (clothed) guest and his wife and they left immediately, and looked at me like I was a pervert. The second day, I was having a nice chat with a german lady in the sauna, who had her towel below the waist, but not the upper part. We were having a friendly chat, but then another man entered in swimwear, and he couldn't keep his eyes of her breasts. It made her feel very uncomfortable logically, so she left. In short: I get that you as a hotel want to keep all the guests happy, that includes the people form the USA and people from Muslim countries. But: one adapts to the location where one travels. In Europe, we don't wear swimwear in a sauna or a steamroom. The mix, simply makes both parties uncomfortable. The least you can do is put up a (big) sing, next to the 16+ sing, saying nudity is normal behind these doors. So at least people don't look at us Europeans as perverts. Some things I specifically liked: - As said the big but very cosy rooms - The overall interior and design of the hotel - The huge lobby - They were just hanging artwork in the lobby when I arrived, paintings on fabric, loved it!!! - That inside your room, you can see the outside temperature. Nice touch so you know how to dress! - Have I mentioned the Cheese Tower??? They have a f*cking CHEESE TOWER!!!! Loved it!! And the gentleman who arranged may cheese platter, was a very kind person! - And of course: the very very very handsome voiturier with beautiful eyes and a very sexy smile. What an incredibly warm welcome I experienced!!! I got so lost in his eyes, I almost forgot in which country I was. And my name is difficult, but he made remember it and greeted using my name every time. That guy has the 5 star mentality. Love him!!! Can you send him to Belgium? Things I would change if I'd be in charge: - As said: the wellness policy about clothing - A standard kettle in the rooms for tea, and white cups: I love the black RAK porcelain coffee cups, but not very practical for tea, as you simply cannot sea the color (and thus strength) of your tea. - the lighting in the elevators: the architect did a wonderful job, but here he screwed up: the led lighting in the elevators make your skin look so grey that it looks like you were stuck in a gletsjer for 15 years and just been brought back to defrost. - At the pool: standard lay menus on the side tables at the lounging beds, so it’s a bit faster / easier to order. - Sometimes it was hard to find a place free at the pool, even as it was very calm in the hotel. Will I be back? DEFINITELY! If only to see those eyes and smile of the voiturier again!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5) Stayed: October 2025 – Wife’s 40th Birthday We stayed at The Chedi in October 2025 for my wife’s 40th birthday, and overall it was an incredible trip. The Chedi is a truly stunning hotel — elegant, peaceful, and set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Swiss Alps. We stayed in Room 1401, which had spectacular mountain views and a beautifully designed suite 👌. The spa deserves a special mention — especially the outdoor heated pool. Floating in warm water surrounded by crisp mountain air and snow-capped peaks was an unforgettable experience. A few things that could have been better: Before our arrival, I had sent several messages via both Booking.com and the hotel’s own email, trying to arrange some balloons and rose petals in the room as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive any replies until I eventually called the hotel myself. The concierge assured me everything would be arranged — but when we arrived, nothing had been done. This was disappointing as the surprise was ruined. I even sent a reminder message the day before, but again received no response. When I called the front desk after check-in, they said they were “just about to bring them up,” but at that point it was too late for the surprise. To their credit, the guest services manager called and sincerely apologized, offering us a complimentary bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake, which was a thoughtful gesture. I understand they were having internet issues at the time, but given I’d reached out the day before, I would have expected better communication from a 5-star hotel. The food across the property was another area that, in my opinion, didn’t quite match the standard of the hotel itself. The dining options were fine, but for a hotel of this caliber, I expected a higher level of culinary excellence. When we first arrived, check-in was delayed due to the internet outage. While waiting in the lobby bar, we were told only beer or champagne could be served until 12 PM when the bar officially opened. For a 5-star hotel, this felt a little restrictive — I’d expect more flexibility to accommodate guests upon arrival. On a positive note: When our private transfer back to Zurich Airport failed to show up, Mark from the concierge was incredibly helpful and arranged for his colleague Pedro to drive us in one of the hotel cars — a real lifesaver. Huge thanks to both of them for going above and beyond! Final thoughts: Despite a few hiccups, our stay at The Chedi was truly spectacular. The setting, design, and overall atmosphere make it a magical place, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious alpine getaway. We can’t wait to return — and I hope my feedback helps make future guests’ experiences even better.

Probably the best hotel in Switzerland. The design, service, rooms, and spa – all exceptional. The entire experience is truly refined and memorable. The spa area is simply world-class. Everything was exceptional – truly a superior experience in every detail. Thank you for an unforgettable stay. We will gladly return.

The hotel was beautiful but it is not as child friendly as advertised. The Kid’s Club is not staffed, and when I inquired I was told which days it was closed. When we arrived it was closed in addition of the dates mentioned. I found that disappointing since I inquired beforehand. It is not really a “Kid’s Club” like other high end hotels. It is a conference room with toys. Children are allowed to swim, but other guests make it clear they do not appreciate children being welcome. Even with adult only areas available. When arriving at the hotel there are adorable small gifts given to the children, as well as a small kid’s section of the buffet. The room is large to accommodate a family. There are much more kid friendly, high end hotels elsewhere. I will not be back with children.

This hotel is incredible, the rooms are stunning, staff takes care of every need. The view from our room was gorgeous. We ate dinner in the bar area, food was good, drinks were awesome. Breakfast had so many choices. I would give this place 10 stars if I could
