We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Malliouhana in Anguilla. What makes this hotel so special is exactly what defines a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property: it offers all the comfort and amenities of a luxury resort while still feeling intimate, personal, and full of character. It never feels like a large anonymous resort, but instead has warmth, soul, and a very individual atmosphere that made our stay incredibly relaxing and memorable. The architecture and design are stunning, the rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, and the location is simply spectacular. In our opinion, the beach and water in front of the hotel are among the most beautiful we have ever seen anywhere in the world, with breathtaking shades of turquoise unlike almost anything we have experienced on our travels. What truly made the stay unforgettable, however, was the kindness and warmth of the entire team. From check-in to the restaurant service, to every gardener greeting you with a smile, the hospitality throughout the resort felt genuine, attentive, and heartfelt. During our stay in Anguilla, we also visited other renowned luxury resorts on the island, such as Four Seasons and Cap Juluca, for lunch and to explore the properties. While they are all beautiful in their own way, Malliouhana was the place that felt the most special and authentic to us, exactly because of its more intimate atmosphere and unique character. This was honestly one of the most relaxing beach vacations we have ever had. We had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend Malliouhana to anyone visiting Anguilla.

It's a lovely hotel and resort but needs some minor work. The food is not good. The beach is lovely and the view is gorgeous. It's a bit pricey for waht you get and watch out for all the serivce charges (pool, each restaurant, etc.) strts to feel like you are being nickel and dimed. Staff is fantastic.

Not sure how this hotel is labeled as a five-star property. The only truly impressive aspects were the location and the lobby area everything else felt outdated and lacking the level of care you would expect from a luxury hotel. Unfortunately, the front desk staff came across as cold and unwelcoming. On our first day, Kerrel gave us a tour that only consisted of the pool and bar area, and throughout the interaction she seemed exhausted and almost bothered by our questions rather than welcoming us warmly. I do want to acknowledge Kerran, the manager, who was consistently friendly and always went out of his way to greet us and make us feel seen. Kim was also kind and pleasant during our stay. They were honestly the only staff members who reflected the level of hospitality you would expect at a five-star hotel. Everyone else at the front desk seemed disengaged and unhappy, which really affected the overall experience. Hospitality and warmth make a huge difference, and unfortunately that was missing here. To make matters worse, we found a roach on one of the bathrobes in our room. While Kevan was very apologetic about the situation, it was still unacceptable and honestly made the experience feel even more disappointing. Overall, this stay did not meet five-star standards, especially when it came to service, upkeep, and attention to detail.

The good: — Beautiful grounds, two infinity pools that never felt crowded, full pool service (waters, towels, food & drink served at your chaise). — Clean and well thought out room with a spectacular view, serviced twice a day and AC worked very well. Thoughtful touches in the evening. — Golf buggy service to neighboring bars / restaurants. The not so good: —- Breakfast each day was an adventure and not in a good way. On the first morning, our food arrived before our coffees. On the second morning we waited a full 15 minutes before our order was even taken. On the last morning, I ordered “Pancakes & Caramel” with a side of bacon. The bacon and pancakes arrived, but no caramel and when I asked about it, it took a full 15 minutes before a tiny cup of nearly hard caramel showed up. I would have rather they told me that it no longer came with caramel. — The bar on our last night said they were closing an hour early, yet after they were supposedly closed, two other parties showed up and were served drinks. It was these kind of things that separate different types of hotels. The breakfast was tasty, but at $45 pp avg, the service should match and it didn’t.

Great staff that will make your stay much richer. The service is impeccable. The hotel has the right team that is over-willing to make your stay memorable.
