We stayed here for 5 nights to attend our niece’s wedding. She now lives in Ankara. Our room 213 was beautiful and very spacious. Bathroom was exceptionally clean and had everything you would need. It had a very large shower and a separate bath. Our room had internal windows looking down to the reception seating area. Very tastefully decorated throughout and each room has its own theme. Slippers, bathrobes provided if needed. There isn’t an iron and ironing board in the rooms but ask reception and you can borrow it. I did this on our first day and did our ironing in one full go. The breakfast was fantastic. Several traditional Turkish food brought out but if needed you can order hot omelette, pancakes etc. We ate there as well and a good selection. Wine is expensive in Turkey. The staff were all lovely. Our niece’s second day wedding was held here, ceremony, food and dancing. Food was fantastic. Just across the road is the way up to the castle and the hotel is high up too so you get great views from outside. Many thanks and highly recommend here.

Beautiful building with interesting rooms. Good location, right near the old citadel and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. The area is quiet. The one downside was the AC in the room was not working and when we opened the window we got the smells from the kitchen exhaust vents. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. they did move us to another room, AC still did not work, but at least in this room we could open the window. There is a museum attached to the hotel also.

Pluses: decent location across from the castle and right near the excellent Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. Food in the restaurant with a great view is pretty good; no buffet for breakfast, but you get a nice plate of items. Minuses: I guess the decor is supposed to be ecclectic and quirky; however, in the hallway right at the top of the steps, the leather divan had tears in it and 2 other chairs right outside our room had the upholstery coming off with threads hanging out. This made the hotel feel old and ratty. I don't understand the high rating of this hotel. In addition, right in the open atrium lobby, there was a wedding on Saturday that went until 11 pm with loud music/emcee talking, etc. and on Sunday, an engagement party that went until 930 pm. In your room, you can hear everything very clearly, as there is an open balcony over the lobby leading to the 2nd floor rooms, where we were staying. I imagine that the 1st floor guests had it worse. We were jet-lagged and wanted to go to sleep by 830-9p, but it was impossible. I wanted to call down to the lobby, but the room phone had no label on it, so I had to walk down. I was told that we were supposed to be told by whomever checked us in what number to dial (which did not happen).

Omer, the waiter, was very welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious and the presentation was pretty, as was the view. We look forward to returning.
