Sugar Mill Hotel

Excellent experience at the Sugar Mil from start to finish. The hotel was beautiful, well-maintained and the service from each staff was outstanding. Highly recommend when you visit Tortola.

This is pur 3rd visit to the Sugar Mill and our visit did not disappoint, the room was amazing with outstanding views and huge terrace to relax. The food was out standing, thank you Bernard, Managers Andrea & Rupert couldn't have done more for us. Carlos at The Tramonti beach bar & restaurant was amazing, he remembered everyone's name after first visir, such a lovely, talented young man. Of course all the staff were fabulous. The owners Mary & Denis topped of our visit by being home and who we class as good friends. Finally if you are looking for the best hotel on Tortola do not hesitate in booking The Sugar Mill,you will not be disappointed 5* luxury. p.s We will be back Jax & Trev

I guess the fact that we have been here every season starting 2015 except for covid and Hurricanes Irma/Marie tells the story. And it's not because of some stagnant grandeur. The facility is ably managed by Andrea and Rupert as on-site managers for years. Sugar Mill focuses on maintaining what makes it great while also implementing changes and improvements as subtle as restaurant and bar menu growth to as major as constructing luxury villas on site and available for purchase. 2026 has also seen the construction and opening of a full range boutique offering an excellent selection of dresses, beachwear, coverups and footwear. Besides running the boutique, Marjorie is also the spa therapist and known for providing excellent massages, including therapeutic and Swedish techniques. The on-site spa offers various treatments (facials, scrubs, wraps) and uses Epicuren Discovery products, with services available by appointment There's two excellent restaurants overseen by European-trained, on-site chef Bernard who for years has presented a unique blend of hi-end formal meals bookended with island cusine and classy casual. The atmospheric dining room evokes a movie set out of the post-colonial 1940's period. With beautiful fixtures, gentle lighting and lovely ocean views it provides a unique dining experience. The more causal restaurant, Tramonti, extends out over the water, again with superlative views and, more importantly, top level food. Standout brunch and don't miss the cracked conch and roti sandwiches. We strongly recommend the all-inclusive stay. Do the math and it's quickly evident that it's an amazing value. Need to recharge? This IS the place!

Amazing service, food, views, and people! The entire team from the owner, managers, restaurant staff, and grounds team were super professional, friendly and genuinely enjoyed providing a top shelf stay and experience. We'll be coming back for sure!

We just returned from a 9 night stay at the Sugar Mill Hotel celebrating our 40th anniversary. We were looking for a small relaxing place with excellent food and service. We definitely found what we were looking for. From my first phone conversation with Andrea ( a real person who is on site) until the day we left, we were more than satisfied. Andrea and her husband, Rupert, manage the resort and are very accessible and helpful. We opted for the all inclusive package and are glad we did. The package included round trip taxi service to and from the airport, all food and drinks (with a few exceptions of high end wines), a sailing/snorkel excursion, and a van excursion around the island. Well worth the cost in our opinion. This is a boutique hotel with only 24 rooms, and our room was fantastic. We stayed in 110 which had a large balcony overlooking the ocean. The room was spacious, comfortable, and updated. It had a large bathroom with a tub and shower and was kept vey clean. There are two restaurants on the property, the Sugar Mill Restaurant for dinner and Tramonti (on the beach) for breakfast and lunch. The food and drinks at both are excellent. The same goes for the servers and bartenders. The entire staff is great and we were very well taken care of. Although it is "all inclusive" it's not the typical buffet line meals. All meals are ordered from the menu which includes lobster, filet, scallops, shrimp, duck etc,,, The preparation and presentation of the food is excellent. The beach is small but beautiful. It sits on Apple Bay, faces Jost Van Dyke, and has amazing sunset views. There are padded beach chairs, hammocks, and my favorite, apple cabanas. Such a relaxing place. The swimming pool is also a great place to relax if you get tired of the beach. It has padded chairs and apple cabanas like the beach has. It is well maintained and centrally located. The resort is somewhat isolated which was great for us. We decided not to rent a car, but only needed a taxi once, the day we went to the Baths on Virgin Gorda. Rupert looked at the cruise ship schedule and advised us to go on a day without the huge crowds. He also arranged the taxi for us (another day he took us in his personal vehicle to buy t shirts). Service was above and beyond what was expected. I would not hesitate to return or to recommend this place to friends or family!!
