The views = 5, the rooms = 5 and the grounds and the hotel are also fabulous. The food = 5 and service to match. You feel like you are in the Virgin Islands with an old school flair of years past. The first night here, we decided to eat at the beach bar. We sat with a wonderful view of the ocean and sunset. It’s in a perfect location of all things West End of Tortola.

We were thoroughly delighted with our All Inclusive week at this Gem of a resort nestled on the shores of Apple Bay. Greeted by Andrea ( and Champagne, thanks Carlos!) after a long trip from home, we immediately relaxed and fell in love this beautiful hotel. there is not a bad view (or room) in the house...striking Jost Van Dyke rests off across the Bay, in all his serenity, making for a perfect backdrop each and every wonderful minute we were there. The room offered every convenience and comfort one would ever think of needing, comfy bed, lovely wicker cushioned chairs, ample room on the deck with a jaw dropping view of JVD. The food is bountiful and excellent beyond words. Served with pride and a good dose of humor offered by Shantel, Esmeralda, Aliyah, MarCia, and Marilyn...fabulous ladies are they all. Breakfast at Tramonti is cooked to order and delivered just perfectly...lunch offers a broad array of comfort food, seafood, pasta and handheld goodies. Ask for a beverage or libation, and it will surely become your favorite Dinner at the Sugar Mill restaurant is indescribably magnificent. The Filet Mignon, Lobster, Sea Bass, Escargot and various other dishes come to the table in ample portions, seasoned and freshly cooked. Mouth watering is an understatement...get the Chocolate desert of the day...there are no bad choices at the Sugar Mill. And that view is mesmerizing. Andrera, Rupert and their lovely staff allow you to enjoy your stay in privacy, but are always nearby with any aid or guidance you may request. What a pleasure to be treated as an adult, but spoiled like a grandchild! Yes, we are returning and hopefully we can break the 30+ returning guest record. Do yourselves a favor and seek out this delightful gem, cared for by nature and some very good people.

Sugar Mill Bliss. I couldn’t have been happier that my “travel creator,” Joyce Burnett recommended The Sugar Mill. I solely relied on her expertise & it was one of my top hotel stays in all my travels. We sat each morning on the lounge chairs on the balcony and sipped the delicious coffee (stocked in our room each day) overlooking the gardens & ocean (just that was blissful). The rooms were spotless, the outdoor shower with stone & garden was something I looked forward to each day. Having a fridge we could use was such a treat (stocked daily with waters & bubbly!). The pool was gorgeous & always clean. Every staff member on that property said hello to us and we felt like we belonged. Andrea & Rupert (the GM’s) were a large part of the reason for our great stay. They were available any time we had questions (for directions & recommendations). They greeted us at dinner and Rupert even sat down with us one evening as we were having a cocktail before dinner. Their food is some of the best we had and we visited nearly every island (and stayed on others). The restaurant (Sugar Mill) is intimate & beautiful as it sits along the water. Walking back to the room after dinner (and not having to drive) was dreamy. The Sugar Mill is a place of dreams.

After a challenging day of travelling and navigating the windy roads of Tortola, my wife and I were warmly greeted with the bonus of "bubbles" upon our arrival. We were further impressed with the flower petals that greeted us on the bed in the breezy room with gorgeous view. Our hosts helped us immensely with hooking us up for a Day Sail, some Scuba Diving and dealing with a broken down rental car. The Sugar Mill Restaurant was amazing, we had most of our dinners there, as guests we had a standing reservation and breakfasts were at the beach front restaurant Tramonti next to the private beach. We will be returning!!!
