I have wanted to come here since 2020 and the release of Hidden in Snow, a crime fiction novel based in Åre but with specific mention of Copperhill Mountain Lodge. The wait was worth it and the trip and stay definitely didn't disappoint. The Hotel is amazing, the staff just the best, so lovely, kind and thoughtful. You must also eat in the restaurant, their creations are truly mouthwatering 🤤

We were very pleased with the hotel room - we had a Copper Room with dinner included which was great for four of us. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was well designed for a family (or group of friends), but there was a shortage of electrical sockets in the room. The ski-in/ski-out feature was great, although not as accessible for beginners, but the hotel shuttle was a great alternative and we took advantage of that. We thought the breakfast was better than adequate (and had the best hotel bacon we’ve ever had!), and in general, all the food was good. All hotel staff were pleasant, helpful and friendly, but the restaurant service wasn’t great. We enjoyed the spa access and used it a few mornings as well as having one spa treatment. The game room was dated and quite crowded with kids. There were a ton of great sitting areas in the hotel, and we took advantage of several of them at different times.

This was our second stay at Cooperhill, after staying there in Feb 2025 for a family Ski holiday. We had issues then and decided to give it another go as Aře was a nice relaxed Ski resort. I will say the staff here are lovely and friendly but lacking either training or direction half the time. At the start of the week they had 1 x 4 seater Volvo car providing the shuttle service down to the Ski area for the entire hotel. This was obviously massively insufficient and meant waiting an hour each way for a large group/family (9 of us). The hotel did address it later in the week and apologised but it is not great (the hotel is easy to Ski to but not out of. The route down to town is not an easy Ski, it is very icy, narrow and not for beginners.) Another really big issue for me is the food, if you have the dinner menu there are 4 choices each night, invariably consisting of 1 Mouse option, a Reindeer option, 1 fish dish and a Vegetarian choice. While usually one of these is nice, they are on a 3 day turn around. Meaning if you are there a week it gets very boring and repetitive, you end up eating the burger off the bar menu the other nights. My big recommendation would be to not book the evening meal for the week. It would also be for the hotel to put a more varied menu on and maybe do the repeat every 7 days instead of 3.

Spent an amazing few days here with extended family. We opted for the Silver Room which had the most spectacular views over to the mountains and also down to the town and lake. With a separate living room it gave us all ( 10 people in all) somewhere to meet up in the evening. Plenty of storage space for clothes and lovely and warm despite being -20 outside. Heated towel rail in the bathroom so no soggy towels lying around and able to reuse them which is good. Full tea and coffee making facilities in the room too. Really well organised for skiers with hireshop on site and lockers for all the gear. Good ski in and out option, but as this was my first time skiing opted to use the shuttle service to the ski school. Great breakfast and good restaurant too which we used on our first evening. The spa facility is good too but can get a bit busy and overcrowded at times. Gym facilities are good but quite a small space and would feel very crowded with more than about 4 people in there at one time. We also made use of the free Pool Tables and Table Tennis.
