Reviews for Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino

Aruba is pricing themselves out of middle class dollars.

Everything at this hotel is super expensive. I have been traveling for years and prices of food and drinks is crazy. Other members of the family commented that the whole experience of this island is not worth the cost. 38 dollars for a can of Hawaiian tropic sun block. There are a ton of other examples.

Would have been great if not for the the severe moldy smelling room and hallway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Would have been great if not for the unbearable moldy smell in our room. The whole hallway on the 4th floor as soon as you step out of the elevator smelled badly from mold but not as badly as our room. Sad because room is nice hotel is nice service was good but woke up every single day with a migraine from the severe mold issue. Our second room had non stop issues with the plumbing someone had to come several times a day to fix the toilet which didn’t flush.

So happy with our first visit to One Happy Island!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Stayed in the Tradewinds Club at Marriott Stellaris for 4 nights. It was a wonderful stay in a lovely Deluxe ocean view King room overlooking pool and ocean. The Tradewinds club: all rooms are on the top floor and include breakfast, lunch, tea (snacks), happy hour all served in the Club room. While I do wish the Club room was in a more scenic location, we felt that there was a lot of value in Tradewinds. We spent most of our time at the gorgeous private beach beneath a palapa, where pina coladas were delivered to us regularly. We did book a sunset dinner at the beachside restaurant, Atardi but it rained that night so we ate under the covered area of the restaurant. We enjoyed the lobby bar with live music and spent a little time in the Casino, which I've heard is the nicest on the Island. The hotel is a short walk to town on the path by the beach. Really happy with this hotel and plan to return.

Under Construction - book somewhere else

My family and I booked our rooms (4 total) back in November 2024. Two rooms were king room and the other two were double queens. Upon our arrival we were informed that all of the rooms were king bedrooms because the hotel in under renovations. At no time were we ever informed of this. If I would have known, I would have booked another hotel. We took one of the rooms with the king and they would “accommodate” us by giving us a cot. I’m sorry, who wants to sleep on a cot for an entire week. This hotel is not inexpensive. They gave my brother the double Queen for the following night (he has 2 teenagers boy and girl). They mixed up the reservations with my room and my mom’s room. The renovations can be heard in the rooms. They started one day at 6am! I understand that hotels need to be renovated but guests are on vacation. They did credit us $350 per room for not having the Queen double beds and $300 for my mom’s room for the noise, but I felt it wasn’t worth the inconvenience. Years ago when you ordered lunch or drinks by the pool; they would ask you for your last name and room number. They no longer do this. The only place that does this are the stores. Check your bill everyday because someone was charging food and drinks to my mom’s room (we never charged anything to her room….all charges went to the 3 other rooms). I went down to the front desk and explained the error and the person and she said “Okay, give me the other room numbers and I’ll make the adjustment.” No, we did not make those chargers. I had to wait at the front desk for her to review all of the receipts to confirm they were not ours. Getting ready to check out and same thing happened to my sister’s room. We never stepped inside the restaurant for breakfast this entire trip. Years ago the pool area for so much fun. They would ring a bell for happy hour and play music, now they play music for an hour and that’s it. The drinks are horrible. The glasses are smaller and you don’t taste any alcohol. The only good thing at the pool bar was the waiter with the blonde short hair. He was amazing! Constantly checking on us, extremely friendly and had an amazing personality. Unfortunately, he was only there on our first day and we didn’t see him again at the pool. The rest of the pool staff barely came around checking on us to see if we wanted to order anything. We would wait 30 minutes and then get fed up and went to the pool bar. Then they would get upset (we are a party of 11). They had no personality whatsoever. Meeting people at the pool and they also have stories similar to ours. The renovation sounds can be heard by the pool. So don’t try and relax, you’ll get better relaxation at the beach. I’ve been a Marriott member for over 20 years and stayed at this resort several times and other Marriotts around the world. This is unacceptable! I’m on vacation and have been at the front desk everyday with an issue. I will be coming back to Aruba. It’s a beautiful island, but will be staying at another resort. Sadly, this Marriott is not the same one I remember. Room 206

If you’re coming while the hotel is under construction consider going elsewhere.

The hotel is under construction and they overbooked the hotel creating havoc for everyone we have met throughout our stay. My family and I booked four rooms and met up with another group of friends. All of us staying at the Stellaris. We have been coming here for years and are Marriott members. I am so disappointed in how this hotel is handling themselves during this renovation process. None of us were informed of the construction and upon arrival the reservations were messed up. Several of my family members and friends had double rooms booked for family of fours only to be placed in a king sized room with a cot. This is unacceptable. A reservation is a reservation and should be honored. My elderly mom was placed in a room in the construction area and is suffering some serious headaches from the ongoing construction. Although the hotel has given some compensation these rooms should not be sold. They are unacceptable living conditions for a week and a $300 compensation is simply not enough. If you are staying here in the upcoming weeks and have time to switch hotels I would consider you doing so. The headaches our group has had to deal with are just not acceptable.
