The removal of a bath TUB from the room means my husband will probably never come with me again as he loathes showers!

From start to finish this hotel was definitely lacking. At close to $5000 a night, I felt like I was staying at a two or three star rated hotel. My request before my arrival for a stand fan was not met until the third day of me asking every day; also, the room was quite hot at night – I complained to management, but nothing was ever done to lower the temperature below 22 Celsius. Furthermore, while eating at the poolside restaurant, I requested a Red Bull that the hotel actually carries on property – the staff informed me that I would need to go purchase it myself from the main hotel in the bar area, which was a 5 to 7 minute walk back up to the main hotel-unacceptable. Another example of bad service, I paid for expedited laundry services, which are guaranteed to arrive back in my room within three hours – two pieces arrived, and the rest arrived the following day, although I paid full price for expedited services. In addition, while having A late lunch with friends outside of the bar area, the waiter spilled a full Aperol spritz on me; I recognize he didn’t do it on purpose; however, there was no compensation involved by management. Again another example, as we were getting ready to check out, I realized that my laundry service that I had turned in three days prior, had not yet arrived-I had to scramble with management to find my laundry so I could pack it up in my bag before the driver arrived to take me to the airport – once again unacceptable. So much excitement and high expectations were had before arriving at this Belmond Hotel because I’ve stayed at other Belmond Hotels and had beautiful experiences-My five nights stay at this hotel, put such a sour taste in my mouth that I almost don’t want to stay at any properties in the future, especially for the amount of money my husband and I paid for our un remodeled room. Our experience was not isolated, our friends stayed at the same hotel at the same time; although they paid the same price that we did and their room was fully remodeled they also had a horrible experience.

Hotel architecture and amenities are beautiful, but made many mistakes in the service. They said “sorry” and corrected, but the point is you don’t want to deal with problems.

Most amazing Hotel, location, service. I can not think of any improvements to offer. Two family member s have Celiac disease. Your ability to have Gluten free options for them was great.

Great property with a friendly team. The concierge team was very helpful with lunch and dinner reservations and well as other places to visit on the island.
