The W Aspen is located right next to the famous Little Nell Hotel, just a couple blocks away of the main ski lift, so a great location. The hotel and the rooms are very contemporary, but be aware that the rooms are fairly small for a newer hotel. The bathroom is an open concept with only 1 sink, and 2 mirrors. We booked a "Full Mountain View" room, but it was located on the 2nd floor and looked directly at the very old 2-story hotel right next to us. You could see the mountain if you looked over the roof, but not what you would expect if you booked a full Mountain View. They moved us up to the 3rd floor, which provided a much better view. The staff was wonderful and they provide a free shuttle service to get around town with a fleet of BMW's. We weren't thrilled with the size of the room/bathroom, but it's a very nice hotel.

Hi sweetheart. I’m trying to post this review and it’s telling me they won’t post a review with profanity. I don’t see any dirty words in here, but I was hoping you could give it to read 🧡 Weeks before we arrived, I called the hotel to see what was possible by way of a possible upgrade for my TITANIUM ELITE status. I was a few nights away from Ambassador and a little excited about it. I love Bonvoy. I really appreciated talking to JUAN at the Front Desk. He was personable, knowledgeable, kind, and made me feel like a regular guest, even though I’ve never been there. KAMERYN, the manager is exceptional!. I made a mistake and booked my reservation one day off and a few days before my arrival I noticed. Kameryn made sure the room I was upgraded to was available for me to check in on the appropriate evening and made it so easy to switch it. We had a a really nice conversation on the phone and it was super disappointing that she was not there for the weekend I spent in Aspen. The very lovely BRANDON at the hotel was also excellent and big shout out to CODY who I would say is definitely going to have a great career in hospitality if he wants one. If you’re lucky, either Juan or Cody is checking you in at the front desk and then Cody is hopping in the sexy BMW shuttle to get you to the airport when it’s time to go home. The W is special. The Retro 70s Aspen vibe in the presidential suite, which is where we landed, is so unexpected and so what we needed! Brandon gave us the heads up that the bed is a circle so that there wouldn’t be any surprises, but we loved it! The team in the hotel restaurant were just amazing. As soon as you arrive, ALISON greet you with her sweet smile and warm, welcoming energy. She is wonderful. Then, SUMAN (oh my God, I hope I’m spelling that right) when so, out of his way to research, which market in town might sell plant based “eggs“ as we are vegan, and I couldn’t believe it… He actually secured this product from one of the markets and every day we were there, the incredible woman cooking in the kitchen, made us scrambled vegan eggs with mushroom and spinach, and it was just incredible! Who does that? Nobody would go to a market to meet the specific needs of a vegan patron. Of course, the W hotel in Aspen Colorado should have a small vegan menu as shiuld every Marriott hotel, in my opinion, but I thought it was pretty extraordinary what he did. LaCount is such a joy! Also a manager in the restaurant, he is fun, fabulous, and jumped in to make me an exceptional almond milk latte, which is not easy to do. I got in trouble back in my room because I had spent a little too much time hanging out and. talking to him rather than bringing the latte to my partner.=) Up on the rooftop pool deck, REBECCA took care of all things with a smile. If there is any critique to be offered, it would be that they were important things missing that the hotel had run out of that no one replenished the entire weekend. We were there such as limes. So the virgin frozen margarita option couldn’t be made for the last two days we were there because there were no limes.. Everyone on the rooftop had great energy and a great attitude. The pool is just the right size for hanging out and staying cool and the hot tub is actually hot with JETS that really pound! So often Marriott hot tubs are super weak on that front but at the W it was truly therapeutic and there’s nothing better than the hot tub at 6 AM! The pool and rooftop deck is 24 hours which is brilliant! CANNOT WAIT TO GET BACK TO THE W!!!!

Although my husband called in advance, he was informed there wasn’t a shuttle. After 20 mins waiting for an uber/lyft to even take request a kind gentleman from the airport asked if we needed help and pointed us to the W shuttle. Well I’d already gotten tired of waiting due to a long flight and the heat, heard the taxi was first come first serve and i hopped in and waived down my hubby. I’m a problem solver in my day to day job so efficiency and moving forward is just what I do. Glad we took a taxi because we had the most amazing gentleman, full of knowledge and nuggets, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t like incurring a cost when we didn’t need to. However, Vidit to the rescue. He immediately empathized, took accountability (versus passing it off on someone else) and quickly gave us the service we’re used to receiving. And once the room was ready was able to provide my titanium husband a suite upgrade for our troubles - and on Food & Wine (which we knew absolutely nothing about) weekend. Vidit, thank you for restoring our faith in the Marriott Brand. The hotel is beautiful, our upgraded suite was lovely and felt like a home away from home and service all around from the bar to the welcome gift was top notch! Would definitely stay here again💚. The only things keeping this from a 5 was access to the inside 2nd floor bar outside breakfast times. Having to access the rooftop pool bar only was a bit inconvenient when it was overly full and limited seating and didn’t carry our cognac drink, but the other bar did have our cognac. Minor yet it’s our reason for rating a 4 versus 5. Otherwise, service was great, room was phenomenal and it was a lovely property.

After skiing I went to the heated pool on the roof of the W. A great way to unwind. My only complaint(s) are: The amount of chlorine in the pool is insane. Bathing suit stripped of color; skin stripped of moisture for 2 days; silver bracelets turned pewter. Same experience with the other people I was with. Unnecessary amount of chlorine in the pool. Would have been a 10.....

Our room was extemely small and the entry was directly into the bathroom. There was no table to sit at and barely enough room to walk around the room. We thought breakfast was included at our rate of $1400 per night and it was not, charged $38.00 pp in addition. It seems like a small fee, but generates al ot of ill will toward the guest experience. There was a resort fee per day added on at the end , per day.
