Got to sleep barely. just ok room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My first time staying here, I came here to avoid the fireworks in my town and asked arrow is good for avoiding fireworks.I got there inside looks nice but there was a lot of construction again. No restaurant , there was a bakery next door that was very overpriced. It took them nearly 3 hours to get my room ready. When they didn't tell the maid that I was here, so I had to wait, I walked around town, which was nice, looked a few places.Anyway the room was just subpar. The bathroom tub jet didn't work. One of them didn't work. There was some strange thing in the shower ceiling. The TV remote was horrible, it barely worked. You had to push the button really hard to change the channel, The nightstand by the couch charger did not work. There was a lot of noise outside my door in the middle of the night. I asked for it to be quiet. The hotel overall is nice and historic. The people were pretty friendly but I wouldn't give this hotel a 4 or 5 star and the room wasn't anything special, Certainly not worth over a hundred dollars. The rug moved around a lot, which, you know, I almost slipped and fell. The one thing I really like about this hotel is they allow pets, but 1 of the front desk lady asked if the people had a service animal which she's actually not allowed to ask that I've been an animal rescue for a long time. And that's against the laws to ask them , if it's a service animal that's almost like asking people about their medical privacy , so I didn't approve of that. So no Restaurant, no gym ice machine was dirty.I got ice and a bunch of black stuff came out. The hotel should also provide you with some water for the coffee maker.I don't do tap water. They should give you bottled water complementary . I got a couple beers from the front desk and they put it on my bill , and I have yet to see that receipt yet.I'm glad I was able to visit the Carlton Because it's historic, but I won't get a room there again.I wasn't impressed above 3 stars , and that was being generous.

Quaint hotel in the heart of town.

This was a nice boutique hotel in the heart of Atascadero. The bathroom was large with both a shower and bathtub. The room was fine although no bed skirt on any beds in the 3 rooms we reserved.

This was a quaint boutique hotel off the 5! Very nice king room!

Right off the five, has restaurants and is in the center of town, nice rooms! Was told it was under renovation, but didn’t see any signs!

Terrible Service; STAY AWAY!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Wish I could give this place less than 1 star. Booked this place in September for a stay this weekend and when I arrived there they tell me they don’t have reservations for me. When I show them my receipt with reservation number they proceed to tell me that they overbooked and don’t have rooms available due to renovations being conducted where my room was supposed to be. Once again, I booked this place in September and was never notified about a cancellation and was never refunded. They sent me to a holiday inn express like 2 miles away; thank God I paid for the rooms upfront front because it forced them to have Holiday Inn bill them directly. The couple ahead of us who they did the exact same thing to was told that since they elected to pay at the hotel that their card would just not be charged and they could just pay the holiday inn out of pocket instead; problem is when we all booked our rooms a month in advanced the price for 2 nights was about $400…the holiday inn express day of charges for 2 nights…about $700…I will never try to stay at this hotel ever again.

Do not book this hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

Worst hotel ever! Do not book. You will drive 5 hours just for them to tell you they’re overbook and your previous reservation is canceled. They will use the excuse of renovation. Do not Book! Older lady is very unprofessional. The hotel turned down a family who pre booked 3 rooms for the same excuse that the rooms were overbooked. Why not call in advanced
