A very nice, 5 star hotel. In the middle of a remodeling, but is definitely modern and very functional. Club was very nice. Great views from room and Club. Room was spacious and nicely appointed. Service was excellent. Only issues...a pulsating light on the room thermostat that could not be stopped. And the last night the maid didn't replace the towels (only two in the room), which was noticed when we went to shower at 5am. The Club concierge apologized with a bottle of wine, which didn't suit our travel plans. Not other considerations offered.

Amazing hotel with great location, 15 min walk from Acropolis and very close to city centre. We had one of the recently refurbished premium rooms- super clean and lots of perks such as huge TV with Netflix. Great customer service from all staff members, the ones that stood out are Ioannis and Angelica at the Front Desk, Spyros and Oristos (sorry if I've misspelled names) were the ⭐ in the Restaurant. I would recommend the octopus signature dish and the view towards the Acropolis at night was spectacular!!! Will definitely visit again

Dated hotel, however, as a Platinum Ambassador we were upgraded to a Junior Suite. An ok stay, room service pinsa pizza was inedible and they didn't remove the Ambassador credit on check out. Doesn't feel like a 5* hotel and pool out of action.

Avoid. Not a real InterContinental experience. Frequent IHG guests will immediately sense that this property falls far below brand standards. I wouldn’t be surprised if it's about to be de-flagged or rebranded. Where to begin? Perhaps with my email to the concierge at InterContinental@mc.ihg.com (the address listed online), requesting a post-cruise pick-up. I received an auto-reply: “This email is no longer available. Please write to concierge-ic@donkeyhotels.gr.” All I can say is: Donkey Hotels by name, Donkey Hotels by nature. This place caters almost exclusively to air crews, Asian tour groups, and US/European cruise passengers doing one-night stopovers before or after boarding. It's a captive clientele unlikely to return — and it shows. Zero effort, just brand exploitation. The lowlights, in no particular order: - Very tired, dated property. - 2 of 5 elevators out of service. - Pool closed in the middle of summer for “renovation.” - Filthy carpets throughout. - Paid cash three months in advance — no upgrade offered because they were “fully booked.” - €17 for an ouzo? This is Athens, not Geneva. And no, it didn’t come on a silver tray. - Rooftop bar: 80 guests, one overwhelmed bartender, one waitress. - Room key doesn’t allow floor access beyond your own — even to visit family. - Revolving door randomly jams and halts. - Broken hairdryers in both rooms. - Minibar locked. Supposedly the key is in an envelope in the room. I never found it. Tells you what kind of guests they expect. - Breakfast was dismal. A sad, windowless room with a three-star buffet. - Reception staff are painfully slow. If you're an IHG loyalist, skip this one. It doesn’t deserve the InterContinental name. I will be sharing this review with IHG corporate.

Hotel is nice. Pool is undergoing maintenance for over a month, July-August. One of the reason's we chose this hotel over others was the pool. No one told us on check in or prior. No option to cancel reservation. Hottest time of year , no pool, not good.
