terrible check-in experience
Extremely disappointing check‑in experience. We finished check-in in the morning after a 30‑minute wait and were told to come back at 3 PM for our room. Upon our return, we had to queue again for another ~40 minutes just to get our key. Our polite request for flexibility as a family with children was rejected. Poor organisation for a star‑rated hotel. Not recommended for families.

Very nice hotel recently renewed with comfortable rooms viewing the Acropolis, really kind personell and a delightful Club at the 8th floor

Welcome renovation refresh to match service
The hotel is a large one that is undergoing renovations so the new rooms are very tastefully decorated and appointed, as well as spacious and comfortable. Not the most convenient location almost 1 km walk to the nearest metro station. The facilities including outdoor pool, wellness centre, gym and restaurants were all very good and of a high standard. Unlike other InterCons there wasn’t any real recognition of IHG Platinum status, like a small snack, treat, fruit, wine, etc in the room just a letter. Otherwise friendly and helpful staff and service.

We made our InterContinental Athenaeum Athens by IHG reservation through Chase travel for a room at the club lounge level. The room was specious with a large living area and the service provided at the lounge was truly excellent. The lounge offered buffet breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee time and evening reception; each offered great food and drink selections. We also found out that we could order other breakfast items not included in the buffet; however, there would be a twenty minutes wait since the order had to be fulfilled by the restaurant on the lobby level. We got to know Pemy and Elina who managed the desk at the lounge and also two of the house keepers Galina and Hamest. The entire staff were friendly and provided superb service. This is definitely one hotel we would stay at if we do return to Athens.

Always High Value
Steady value and always a great service. An amazing Club Lounge on the 8th floor with super breakfast and service. The Breakfast on the lobby level is second to none in terms of both quality and variety.
