We were at the Intercontinental Athens to host an international gathering of 400 plus leaders from 62 nations. The updated rooms were 5 star, the food was 6 star and the customer service was 7 star. I highly recommend this outstanding hotel, whether you are coming along, or with your family or hosting a leadership summit.

This is an elegant hotel. It is carefully and thoughtfully decorated with beautiful public spaces. It’s quiet except for the motorcycles that race by at all hours of the day and (especially) night, which can be quite annoying for light sleepers but which the hotel can do nothing about. We had a suite and it was enormous, probably 800 square feet at least, and very comfortable. I can highly recommend the hotel’s laundry and dry cleaning service—it’s much better than any dry cleaner you will use at home. Your laundry comes back in Intercontinental plastic sleeves. A few nits: (1) the pillows were very uncomfortable for me, rather like putting one’s head down on soft butter; (2) the water in the shower continually went from hot to warm to cold to warm to hot. Not good; (3) the mini-refrigerator was filled with minibar items and left very little room for one’s own drinks, leftovers, etc.; (4) the hotel has no convenience store or anywhere to buy essential items or even soft drinks. The nearest convenience store, Shop24, is about a half mile away. The area around the hotel is completely safe during the day and probably at night as well, but it is run-down. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent. Special thanks to our waiter in the restaurant, Panagiotis. We appreciated his warm and congenial service. The hotel staff in general are uniformly courteous and pleasant. The concierges are very good; thanks to George and Dimitrios for their advice and assistance. Breakfast is good; perhaps not up to the standards of Europe’s best hotels, but quite good. I can recommend the made-to-order omelet station. The hotel might consider covering more of the food at the buffet; plenty is open for anyone to breathe or sneeze upon. All in all we had a very pleasant stay in a lovely hotel.

Great place to stay when visiting Athens - located near the Syggrou-Fix Metro station for easy access to the city. First rate amenities but some of the older rooms don't have USB connection ports. Special thanks to Eleni at the ArtBistrot for her great service.

Only one night unfortunately. We are starting a cruise from athens. Im a IHG member so intercontinental hotel was chosen for this reason. We arrived and the hotel and we were helped with our bags which was great since I've done my back. Got a lovely young lady at the front desk who thanked me for being a member and then she said she would like to assign us to a better room and we were allocated a suite instead of the standard room we booked. We were given a suite that had been renovated. Very comfortable. A little lounge area with a kettle and mini bar and a seperate bedroom and bathroom. It was right near the lifts so it was a little noisy but once we closed the bedroom door it was a bit better. Our cruise not embarking till two we asked if we could get a late check-out which we were given till 1pm. The breakfast here is a great buffet breakfast. There is truly something for everyone. The freshly squeezed orange juice was so nice. We are in the hotel last night and the menu is quite large. The gyros were very nice. Before dinner we had a drink in the bar and listened to the man on the piano. It's a big spacious bar area and we're given nuts and chips and sat and people watched. The hotel has a tram line not far that you can use to get about for one euro 10 for four hours so very good value. Concierge will get you a taxi pretty quick also. We would certainly stay here again if back in Athens.
