What a letdown from Intercontinental Athens. After a late lunch we decided not to order a full meal and went to the bistro. After waiting to be served for 30 minutes, I got the menus myself. Another 30 minutes before we could attract the attention of the waiting staff who were happy to stay at the end of the bistro and chat. We ordered a club sandwich and 2 hot chocolates. The toasted club sandwich came with fries. The whole meal was cold when it arrived another 30 minutes later. We enjoyed the hot chocolate but was disgusted with the food. We asked for the bill and I expressed my disappointment as we only picked at the cold dish and he kept saying sorry and I’ll talk to my manager. When the bill arrived I said I’m not happy paying for the club sandwich and he said sorry again. I asked if he spoke with his manager and he said he couldn’t find him. I was not surprised. I paid the full bill but said I was not happy paying for cold food but he just kept saying sorry and his manager was nowhere to be seen. We had planned eating there every night but I will not now. The food was obviously prepared and left for over half an hour to go cold (it was not warm in the slightest) I/c hotels say they are 5 star and boast quality around the world. I have stayed in better 3 star hotels and had better food and value from a local cafe. As a regular international traveller, I will NOT be using this group again. They could have at least not charged for the club sandwich. Instead they have decided to lose a customer who will share with others. The room is clean and check-in fine, but a bad experience handled poorly is inexcusable for a 5 star international hotel. You made 60 Euro (which was poor value) and lost a customer.

Grandeur chain hotel that sits kind of in the city but not quite where the fun, chaotic Athens energy is. It’s very much what you'd expect from a luxury business hotel: polished, professional, and completely unoffensive. Big room, stayed at the renovated one — all plush and fancy. The bed was nice tho. Service was efficient, but not exactly warm and fuzzy. You get what you need, but don’t expect Greek hospitality grandma-style. Breakfas was solid from the usual suspects. Tasty enough, but nothing that’s going to make you write home about.

I enjoyed a weekend at InterContinental Athenaeum after a sailing trip in Greece, and both experiences were outstanding. I had booked a room with Club access, and when arriving, I learned that they were fully booked and that I had been allocated a larger room with a balcony - and an amazing view of the Acropolis. Club InterContinental really felt like the heart of the hotel to me, and I would like to mention Eleni in the Club reception in particular - her level of service and attention to detail is outstanding. Just before departure, a colleague of hers also assisted me in finding a pharmacy nearby with a particular product I wanted to buy. Simply everyone in the Club provided excellent service, and I am very thankful. Their gym is also great (for a hotel gym), as is their top floor restaurant - I think that one is worth a visit in its own. We had dinner there Sunday night, and food was fantastic. The rooms are relatively well kept but the age of the hotel is starting to show. It is otherwise quite hard to think of areas for improvement. This was my second visit (the first was just before Covid), and I already look forward to the next.

We stayed at InterContinental Hotel Athenaeum for 4 nights on account of our Leadership meet of our company. Room was clean, spacious and business like. Location of hotel is near to Acropolis and lot of restaurants around. We had breakfast all 4 days and spread is nice. We also enjoyed the roof top bar which provide great view of Acropolis. All in all a great stay and shall recommend the Hotel to others.
