The Dolli at Acropolis

The Dolli appreciation post. 💙🇬🇷🤍 Hands down one of the most spectacular boutique hotels I’ve ever visited. The Dolli matched the exact vibe we were going for. The location is perfection. From the city buzz to the acropolis view….and the gelato directly across the street it’s just absolute excellence. Superb service and impeccable attention to detail make this a “do not miss” stop on your journey in Greece. In addition to the stunning visual facade, notice the lavish welcome treats and the stellar floral design. I was told the hotel contracts with a local florist who has a seasonal vision and freshens the arrangements weekly. Divine. The rooftop restaurant and pool not only have a once in a lifetime view and outstanding cocktails, but also served as location for our first taste of grilled octopus. If your high school Latin has failed you as mine has…the podium is at the bottom of a famous statue sourced from the private collection of the hotel founder. It’s one of a pair representing the earth and the heavens into two concepts. This one translates to “The rules of the motions of the wandering stars and lights”. #greece #mammamia #graduation Here’s hoping we get to revisit one day.

The Must for a 5 star hotel is 1. A king size bed 2. A decent mattress 3. Space to walk around the bed to get to the bathroom 30cm is not enough. 4. Space in the room to unpack your bags 5. Somewhere to put away your clothes 6. Bathroom space for your make up bag 7. When being picked up from the airport after a long flight it would have been nice to know that the car from the hotel is unable to drop you off at the front of the hotel and that you are going to walk for 10mins with your luggage on cobble stones. No apology was given until we complained then the transport was waivered.

The Dolli feels like a dream. The location and view truly cannot be beat in Athens. Luxury and comfort at its finest, with wonderful service and staff.

STOP! If you can afford this hotel (it’s only real con) do not hesitate one bit, go ahead and book it and stop wasting your time searching. This hotel perfected every aspect of a luxury yet botique experience: location is second to none, rooms are spacious and gorgeous, staff and service are impeccable, requests are immediately actioned with no delay. We spent our anniversary here and added some notes about our dietary requirements: Any other hotel would have added a cute towel/flower arrangement on the bed and a personalized note and called it a day. The Dolli upgraded us several categories, provided us with treats and drinks following our dietary requirements! The lobby is actually a place you’d want to spend time in not just because of the design, but it is filled with treats 24/7! And this takes me to the finale: the view from the rooftop restaurant/pool is just out of this world and is worth the price of stay by itself. This area of Athens is full of businesses hawking a view of the Acropolis. Staying in this hotel, this privilege is only an elevator button away! All this perfection comes at a price, which if you can afford, is worth every Euro.

A true 5 star experience. Staff and service second to none. A stunning boutique hotel. Location and view amazing. We have traveled for decades and spent time in hundreds of luxury hotels but the Dolli is special. If there were a 6th star, they would deserve it!!!
